      Base model is £3,300 so comparable to an electric Brompton.
      It’s a folding city/commuter bike so weight is more of a consideration than range. You can always give it a top up when it’s folded at your desk at work.

    • @cabaretampere
      @cabaretampere 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It folds

    • @richmck007
      @richmck007 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Funinhounslow Bromptons fold up smaller so do Hummingbirds. You can also charge the Brompton bag away from the bike itself and the Hummingbird is in a class of its own just as the Gocycle.
      Go cycle is an exciting creation but just does not fold as it should Into a compact size compared to the other two I mention here.
      Don’t get me wrong, if money were no object, I’d invest in one but for practical reasons, it cannot be compared to Brompton’s ebike nor the Hummingbird unless we look at the pricing and availability.
      And that fluctuates like a bad Brexit day on the stock market.

    • @Funinhounslow

      @@richmck007 my point was price/range is similar to an eBrompton so difficult to argue Gocycle is overpriced. If you regularly need to take your bike on public transport Gocycle prob a bit bulky but fine for folding and storing at work.
      Both excellent products though- I have an older non folding Gocycle and non electric Brompton
      Finally both are established British brands so no issue with parts and support. My Gocycle came back from a service feeling like new this year…

    I suspect those whining about the price haven’t been in a bike shop for a while. A Specialized Turbo Como is £4,000. An e-Brompton is £3,000. So £3300 for the base G4 doesn’t seem wide of the mark. All these are quality products with decent manufacturer support. I wonder how long the various sub £1,000 ebikes will last and who you turn to if there’s a problem…
    I’ve had a GS for three years and use it pretty much daily. It “paid for itself” a long time ago so every time I use it now it’s pure “profit”.
    The GoCycle is perfect as a city commuter because of the small wheels narrow handlebars and upright stance. And the single sided fork is a godsend when you get a puncture…

      i actually rode the bike pretty hard and had the bike set to 25MPH (40km/h) you can't do that on the app anymore,
      from memory, from the back it was normal for the bike to have some sorta wobble from the back wheels, over time the wobble got really really bad,
      went through alot of brake pads, the rear also rubbed alot against the brakes.
      i've also had the chain internally fallen off, also had the center folding part split inside so it made this really really loud noise.
      too much folding also loosen up the fold as well so it got to a point when the back part would drop easily. the rims also developed a crack. from memory i also had issues with the electrics where my shifting pretty much didn't respond
      i've heard the Gen 3 Gocycle is easier to service than the G2. I have no clue about how good the new ones are most likely much better. would i recommend it for daily riding probably not. it feels more of a bike that is used for a slow cruise

    What about the awesome Hummingbird Electric Bike? I've had the desire to get it (and now the Gen 2.0 Hummingbird) on my mind for over 3 years, since March 2019, with Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres and titanium additions to certain parts of the bike as advised by Cloud 9 Cycles to make it even lighter than the base version, though I am a bit confused at this point over which one to eventually go for, the G4i+ or a custom-coloured Hummingbird Electric. These 2 bikes are two 'ultimate' mobility-enhances for one's life, and I especially love the idea of having ridiculously strong tyres like the Schwalbe Marathon Plus or the G4i+'s carbon fibre tyres (I'm unsure about which one is stronger, for example) so you can even easily use it on mountainous and off-road, gravelly surfaces too. I wish there were more reviews, commentaries, videos or resources on the Hummingbird as it appears to be more overlooked than the Gocycle for one reason or another. I'd especially appreciate more comparisons between the Hummingbird and this other bike. The Hummingbird is almost fully carbon fibre unlike the Gocycle and is over 5kg lighter than the G4i+

    Cute helmet. Why is $1k for carbon wheels "totally worth it"? Not sure you mentioned. Can I be absolutely sexist and just say that this woman could sell ice cubes to an eskimo? But is a man going to attract such a woman on this bike? Nu-uh. Great ladies' bike 100% ... One guy's 2c worth. Great video as ever!

    What an ugly bike. It looks flimsy and the tyres are bald. The display is unhelpful and the price is just bonkers. Looks like mounting accessories to the handle bars will be impossible as the stupid display takes up all the space. Not a regular bit of tubing anywhere to mount stuff. Looks like if anything goes wrong you won't be able to replace bits with off the shelf parts either. So it's a massive nay for me.

    I see no market for this overpriced electrically assisted bike. If you want exercise then why not buy a conventional bike for about one tenth the cost of this. If you want cheap, two wheeled transport, then why not buy an electric moped with a 50mph top speed and 85 mile range for half the cost? It makes no sense!

  • @prw56

    I know this style of review probably does appeal to some audience, but I really don't like it. All the effects and the way you speak makes this sound the same as an obnoxious marketing video.
    Like I'm dumb enough to trust anyone who sounds genuine, I just want someone with this bike (who has had some other e bike, even just a previous model go cycle) to get a camera and go from piece to piece on the bike the way electricBikeReview does, then ride it, all while providing commentary about the features, what they imply, and how they compare. Ideally they do this in a nice organized way that allows you to skip around to the info you are looking for if necessary. That's it. That's all you need to do. Why did you spend so much time filming different shots, and editing in annoying music and sound effects?
