Fully betting that she's not a manager anymore bc she tried to micromanage so hard in her last store that it landed her in hot water. But instead of just letting her go, they demoted her and transferred her to a new store to give her one last chance to shape up. And she's about to lose her job real fast by playing stupid games Seen it happen far too many times before
100% because I have gone to a different store than my previous one and had not been a manager and they asked me three fcking times after speaking to my prior manager to train as a manager. I refused but… there 100% was a problem unless she had left and went to another job then went back.
I had a coworker like that. I was her team lead and I guess she used to be a manager. She would get mad at me because I "would talk to her like she was incompetent." When really I was just deligating tasks.
I've had that happen. Comanager accused me of being racist for asking them to stock up but missed the part where everyone from owner to supervisor to GM stocks up if we're busy. Hell I'd be sprint-walking from the back with armfuls of product myself. Either do it yourself or delegate. Don't care, just make it happen.
I would not…I had this happen to me at the theater & I told the person, “You & I are at the same level. I’ve actually worked here longer than you. If a manager has an issue with me, they can speak to me themselves. You can worry about yourself & if you need actual help, I’ll be happy to help you.”
Hope you guys don’t mind the sped up stories! I try to fit it all into the minute so we don’t have too many parts! An update is coming that’ll allow for longer shorts very soon! Bear with me until then 😅 love you guys!
I used to work with a girl who had transferred from another location who, within days of meeting her, bragged about using the socials of a former colleague she didn't get along with to get her fired. 🙄 A few weeks later she found and requested me on Facebook and I declined her request. When she brought it up I simply said, "I don't share my social media with co-workers." She countered, "Well, I thought we were friends," and because I didn't want to keep arguing, I just told her the truth, "Look, you openly admitted to using your other co-worker's social media to get her fired. I'm not going to give you an opportunity to do that to me." She looked SO offended, but, like, c'mon! You're surprised?
I hate when this happens. I'm sad to say it happened at my work place (I'm a nurse) as well. Newbies coming in and think they know how everything works and as soon as you tell them "we don't do that here" or "I know what I'm doing" or basically anything that doesn't suit them they run to the manager. The worst part is that they are lying to your manager and your manager, Who has known you for Years, believe them. it's just unbelievable.
Ugh I had a coworker just like this when working retail. New hire trying to micromanage everyone. Example she some reason HAD to keep tabs on when we went to break. All we were required to do was 1. make sure we were not busy and 2. inform at least one other coworker we were going (or work out who would go on break first) to assure someone was on the floor the whole time. Now apparently for her your break started the moment you said you were on break, and not when you actually got on break. If a customer stopped us on our way to the back we couldn't brush them off so we would help them then continue on before clocking for break, or on shorter days are on the clock 15 min break to eat or what not. Same with coming off break if we get a customer on our way back we have to stop and help. Would you as said customer like to see an employee ignore or make an excuse to keep on walking instead of stopping to answer you? Well again this one co worker in her mind thought break started when you said you got on break, and that break ended when you walked back to your section. She was complaining and got another new hire to go along with het hat a few of us were taking well over hour long breaks and tried to get a few of us fired. When we explained what was really going on and cameras proved it, shown to us all the manager didn't like having all of our time wasted... she was let go after that. To think she may have kept her job if she kept her misguided thoughts to herself instead of trying to make a big show of it.
Had a coworker like this. I left that job so fast. All they got was a slap on the wrist while everyone else was getting punished for drama they started.
I have one coworker like that rn, her past work experience she was a manager but she is at associate level with me. But she always nitpicks little things like when I try sorting clothes to prices, she tells me what's wrong with my choices, 'obvious stains and holes', certain shirts we can't sell, and 'this is not 5 dollars at best it's 3'. And apparently she complains to my work bestie that I'm terrible at cashier, that I'm not doing my job right, and she thinks I'm acting...snooty? By not talking to her. That's mostly cause I don't really have anything to talk to her about. I like talking books, movies and DND, she doesn't really talk about that stuff so I have nothing to talk to her about. Other times it's because of the nit-picky attitude I get from her that doesn't want me to really talk to her. Had another coworker who played petty games by not helping me with my go backs or fitting rooms when I needed it, saying that I should be able to handle all of that on my own, I'm not doing my job right or that I'm purposefully leaving her giant messes to clean up, even lying to my coworkers about how bossy I am with her or even pushing my breaks and lunches over 30 minutes past the hour we're meant to have them. Luckily she dug her own grave cause she tried reprimanding me in front of a customer, a mom and three kids, she was checking out with. The customer and I filed the complaint, I got the next day off and during my day off she was terminated. I just don't know how to get through the other one -_-

All of my co workers at with one exception were like this at Sephora. The smug, catty, condesending, entitlement was one level. And the fact that I refused to engage in trash talking or even listening to their gosip made it worse. I look back and still can't believe I lasted a full year.
2 worst people to deal with... The "I was a manager before" and, for older employees, the young "I've been here longer so you're previous experience means nothing" Both need to get over themselves 🙄 How about we treat everyone as equal to the job they are in...if you are not a manager, don't act like it. And if you've been somewhere for years, don't treat a "newbie " that's twice your age like they are a toddler. Just because they are new at that company/location doesn't mean that they are new to the business And just because you've been in the business doesn't mean you can critique all the established employees 🤷♀️

It’s hard not to react to a person attempting to energetically pick you apart. But it’s worth it to see them exhausting themselves attempting to control you and failing. If they persist you go to your boss and tell them your coworker is disrupting your work by constantly talking to you and taking your attention away from your clients and you need their assistance curbing this behavior.
