lol “there’s no sign that says I can’t” the signs are actually there to tell you what you CAN try on. It says tester. If there’s no tester for the lashes, ur shit out of luck
Its never random they calculate which items are stolen the most and put security tags on them. Thats why it might see like the items are tagged at random
I'm glad a makeup company does this. You try it, you buy it. It's so unsanitary when you don't. Anything that comes to eye makeup, especially eyelashes, can cause styes in other eye infections. This is highly contagious, so this needs to be practiced everywhere . Try it, you buy it.
I work at a luxury purse store that also sells branded jewelry and the amount of women that try on the earrings that we have to run over to and say “umm mam! You can’t put those earrings in your ear unless you pay for them first” is ridiculous! Why would you think you could insert a piece of jewelry into a hole on your body, then put it back for someone else to buy??? Gross! 🤢
There is a flip side like places that don't have testers out for perfume and you are supposed to get some hag behind the counter to walk over for each and every single tester they are hiding behind the counter and giving attitude like it's too much work when it's their job. Just went to Dillards and this was the exact experience, ridiculous. And of course samples never exist except for friends and family hint hint
fun fact! This is known as property damage. Because they can no longer be sold due to hygiene concerns she either buys EVERY THING she openned and messed with or she goes to jail :D
I used to work at an art store and this lady asked me if I could show her where there were cheaper sketchbooks, after she had finished testing a bunch of markers inside of one 💀
Ive found some non tester products that have clearly been used and i gave them to the store employee...she thanked me and then asked if i needed help... Its not thay hard to not suck.
When people ask why there are stupid sign, guides or instructions. It's because of these people. Like back of a food item, it sometimes says remove package before put it in oven😂.
it is actually a felony to tamper with products like this, it could make people sick or cause real harm if someone bought one and no one realized they were opened. it is a bigger crime than theft.
This does give me an idea you don't have tester lashes, but rather a sample lash thats on an acrylic piece. The person can feel the lash and place the acrylic piece up to their eye to mimic the look, or have some type of AI digital try on. I know I have bought lashes that look horrible on me.

Not typically with lashes, but I cannot tell you how often I have to ask people not to open boxes or new product 😭😭😭 Genuinely, do you think the testers are just for display?
I'd say lashes are like underwear, once you use it you essentially wasted an item and it can't be refunded so yeah, you pay or you're charged to. One of those is more expensive than the other- But the sign was ingenious.
And turns out she had no money to begin with and she has no intention on buying anything, she just wanted to waste time in the store until she had to be somewhere.... 🙄🙄🙄🙄
People not being aware of basic germ theory is wild to me I don’t wear makeup, but I would never trust putting products on my face for an extended period of time that were just open to the public. Who wants lashes someone else already wore? What if the person who put them on had a pinkeye infection and they didn’t know yet? Or a different infection?
This horrendous Karen aside, I wish there was a way to try on lashes in store without actually placing one on your eyes. Maybe they could place lashes at an angle encased in plastic that you could then hold up to your face to see if you like them.
