Great video! I think a video that goes over the major cities and how to work the merchant board, here to find the city merchants, Grand Companies, where to get a chocobo, where to get a retainer, where to repair gear, etc. All those tips and tricks as new players navigate the game for the first time can come in handy.
I am starting a game in the Demo, so this helps me to pick classes to try out, as well as giving me some small insights, or perhaps just suspicions, as to which classes will not be shown off fully by lvl 35. Also, nice pleasant mannerism, informative and concise without being all flashy and in your face. I very much appreciate this video.
Oh thanks Beux, and I hope you enjoy the demo. If your playing on PS4 after you hit level 35 you can continue with the starter edition for free right now, but only on PlayStation
Ohh thx a lot mate!! You have said what ive need to hear - "ur race is cosmetic"!! Im sitting for about 30min and reading guides what race for heal to choose etc))
+denon that's awesome. I always like when race plays a role and has an effect, but when you can play any job on one character then this is the way to go IMO :)
If i want to play a Scholar i need to create an Arcanist and then at lvl 30 choose a Scholar? Or i can make a Conjurer and then switch to Scholar? Im noob here and dont know all specifics of class choosing=))
Very nice video, answered each question I was wondering about. I'm new to TH-cam so it's nice to also see how good content is made on things like this. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy the game... If you haven't already, you can always start with the free trial which will let you play up to level 35... gives you lots of options etc... just a thought. Hope to hear back from you and your experience and if you have any questions. :)
I got the free trial and I'm looking forward to play as a healer and learn in game about the games story. My first thought is to roll a white mage until lvl 10 or 15 and then switch to Scholar. My second thought is to have a go on the archer. Do you have any tips about this class? Thank you for your videos and work!
Super helpful video, especially for someone who has no knowledge of this game and is just getting into it. Went Marauder and am loving it so far. Thanks for the help and the break down of everything. Super appreciate it :).

great video brian! i am going to buy stormblood today at gamestop and i am a brand new player and this video was extremely helpful and i am very motivated in looking forward to this game. Thanks.
This was my first [and as of now only] MMORPG. I came in totally clueless, to the point I didn't know Arcanist split into two jobs. Got the game cause I saw some youtubers [ BrainScratch Commentaries] got a free pass from Square so they did a little vid on it. Figured I'd try the free trail and after playing with a friend the lore had me hooked. I mostly play the game with a few friends, some of them I role play with the others I just do content for the pure joy of good fights and helping them. Channels like this are why I still play rather then just finish the story then wait for the next expansion. You make the harder to deal with stuff understandable. The reason I never got into WOW [sides disliking gaming with mouse and keyboard] is they seem very anti noob. I know that isn't true but everyone of my friends says FF 14 is friendly, easy going and fun. Like Work to Game! You guys keep it up.
Thanks for the awesome complement, I got into MMOs because of FFXI and I didn't even know what an MMO was, and made many, many mistakes. XIV was a natural jump for me because of my love of FF games, and time with XI. I think I'd play other MMOs if I could play with a controller. :)
Back with XI was the craze my town's internet was so bad you couldn't get to the character creation screen. Or at least what a friend of mine said. Also the horror stories about boss lengths in XI where all I heard about cause at the time if it was Metroid Prime info or Twilight Princess I didn't look up game news. But yeah it is almost like controllers are better fit for gaming and keyboards are better for typing. I kid use what ever control fits you, I like to say I'm the devil cause I think the best made controller is the Wii U Pad or Pro cause they put both control sticks up in the right spots. There are a few steam games [mostly Team Fortress 2] that I would be so deep into play if I could just get controller support to work. Not sure if I'm just bad at configuring systems or there is no support for them. Keep up the great work guys.
Do you guys have any tutorials or know of any good ones to help a PS4 user set up the screen better? Not really familiar with this type of game and just started. Screen is really busy
I was expecting to solo at lower levels and healer at higher, so looking over the lists and info (oh sooooooo much info you could easily drown)... I chose Arcanist to start, and am expecting to switch to Astrologer at 50 for healing class. Not sure if it is the smartest combo, but I figure I'm allowed to make a mistake or two with first character =)
That will work... you can even unlock your Scholar off of your Arcanist at level 30 as well. :) So just take Arcanist to 30, and unlock Scholar and boom healer, then when you get to Astro, you can easily switch. :) Plus, leveling up Arcanist you level up Summoner and Scholar, so it's like a two for one deal. :)
Thanks! Glad you left this comment. :) If you're checking out the game (or thinking about it) check out the free trial (it's unlimited and free) and you can take that and turn it into a real account once you are ready. :) Hope you enjoy the game! :)
That's great! I didn't realize the free trial was unlimited. I was trying to learn all I could before starting the free trial so I didn't "waste" the time xD
Yeah, check this link to learn more: freetrial.finalfantasyxiv.com/ it's on PS4 and PC (mac too, I assume) and you can play all jobs up to 35... there are things you can't do... but it should be a good way to start and see if it will fit... :) I'd recommend checking out our getting started primer as well. Most burnout happens around level 30/35 due to players changing their job a lot of making new characters, so that hopefully will help answer some questions. :)
Yes, I watched that as well. It was also very helpful. :D I'm usually one of those people who restart a bunch of times to find that "perfect" character.
+XxMythix your not alone in that. But the nature of this game is you can play all jobs on the same character but both styles prove to have the same gap. Best case is you can change your character and there is so much else you can do at level cap. And you can always level up other jobs, but having that capped character keeps things interesting and exciting. Plus on 6/16 you'll be able to buy a story skip and job jump potion which if you level up to cap in the free trial might be worth it to get that level 60 character and jump into Stormblood with your friend, but that's a lot of money to spend so each player will have to make that choice :)
@WorktoGame i literally just got done with watching of your videos and the clarity in those 2 videos alone are what made me want to play FFXIV again after so long of not playing. also to mention i have to completely start over from scratch due to not knowing my login info.
So sorry to hear that you lost your login info... If you are starting over, I'd recomend that you start with the free trial, you can play up to level 35 on all jobs for free. Just a thought. Shop the sales to save some money, and welcome back, I hope you have a blast. We play on the Aether datacenter (the game supports cross server play) on Sargatanas and group up with viewers on Twitch just FYI. :)
Can you please confirm something for me? The level boosters for classes, you could only use one per character correct? Im not so sure that this is the case anymore, please confirm
Thanks mate for the guide looking forward to playing. What do you think is a great levelling combo do we go a tank healer or a melee dmg healer any ideas for me and two mates would be great. Cheers guys
+ZuraWrath if you are a group of three, and you have one of you a tank, and the other a healer. Then you'll pretty much have insta-pop on content. So for the third they can have a DPS and as long as the three of you are together they will also benifit :)
Thanks for that video, wanna start playing with friends. They already choose Conjurer and Archer so they are in the same zone for questing. None of tanking class is starting there so i wonder to chose Lancer and at 10 swich to tank. It's good option?
It’s a fair option but You’ll all be together in 10-15 levels and it goes by pretty quick IMO. But if you want to start together, start together, then unlock the Tank and let them help power you up. Getting your tank caught up should be pretty quick. :)
Thanks for answer ;] Client download goes very slow for me so im starting today but very exited. I hope to have a lot of fun. For sure will watch more Your videos for more info. Best regards ;]
Hey Brian! I was wondering if you could help me find a class that suits my play style? My friend who play this game already have a tank and a healer, so I was planning to try a DPS. However, I want to play a DPS that has good support abilities. I know that Bard does, however I'm not a huge fan of using a bow. Are there any other DPS that can really help benefit parties? I read that Dragoon used to be a good choice, however after Stormblood are they still as useful? Thank you!
+NovemberEnd great question! I'll try my best to give you a good answer. DRG has good damage and just got buffed again today. Not a bad choice but not a lot of support. If you like casters, take a look at Summoner and Red Mage as they will both have a raise and the ability to push MP to your healer if needed. Machinist has some support like Bard and Guns. :) that's what I have on the top of my head, shoot me any other questions you might have :)
Work To Game awesome! Thanks for the response! After looking at the classes' details I'm starting to realize, that the bard may be exactly what I'm looking for. I just have to get used to using a bow. Are the bards changes in Stormblood pretty good? It seems they buff damage a lot for everyone, but can they still regen tp and mp?
Are the jobs in 14 similar to how they worked in ff11? Moves, play style etc? I had a few capped jobs back in like 2005 when I played 11. But that game had a lot more focus on race also at the time. So just curious, not sure if you had played 11 at all.
Hey man! First of all nice video. Feel like it helped me wrap my head around some things! I'm completly new to this game but in other mmos i've always liked to play healer. So with that out of the way i kinda like the sound of the Scholar playstyle. My questions are how's lvling as a healer in this game and at what point would you recommend to switch over from Conjurer to Scholar? And are the healers in about equal demand?
Howdy Irrelephant and welcome to FFXIV, fantastic questions! Personally, if you're interested in SCH, I would switch over as soon as you can, that way you get to get more of that story XP to help you level. If you are already a CONJ, as soon as you get to Limsa, go to the Arcanist guild and change. You'll play as a DPS for the first 30 levels, but once you hit level 30, you can play as an SCH... Not the best system at this time, but it's what we have. The other option is to get a jump potion for SCH, but that will take your job up to 60, which isn't bad, but you'll still have the story to play though. :)
Thank you for this wife wanted to know what races she could choose from :) so I thank you. Looking forward to coming back as a new character with the mrs this Sept/Oct.
well, I and a BL role player, I need to create 2 characters, I'm thinking black/with mage for the ELEZEN and MIQO’TE ho can be scholar and summoner so my question is. is it possible to get scholar and summoner and to have both classes of the arcanist ty in advance
I know it's odd to do for ff14 but I do have alt characters because I'd be so happy with one character and I'd make a difference character so I can play a different race without needing to buy a fantasia
Hey, thanks for this guide. I've been wanting to try out XIV for a while and will be starting the trial on PS4 soon. So far I feel like I enjoy being an off healer, being able to heal others while also doing some dps. So, which class would be best for this? Based on this guide, I think either Bard or maybe Scholar/Summoner?
+Firechar27Animations all healers can DPS, and I'm still gathering the changes with SB but I find I can do a lot of DPS as a scholar (in terms of time spent dpsing, not overall numbers just yet) but with a fairy which heals too. :) it helps :)
I know it's a killer in PvP for sure... it opens up once you get into the Heavensward expansion content... so it's not anything you can start out as, unless you jump potion it up. As for the job, it's interesting and like you said, lots of love and hate for it, just depends on who you ask and what patch. It's very mobile which is a plus, and I plan to spend more time with it here in the coming months for sure. :D
Hey Brian usually I play ranged dps or tanks. I want to roll tank in ff14. I’d like to be able to do damage while tanking would the marauder be a good choice?
Awesome video very helpful! I have a question on what i should choose, i am one of those people who like to battle close range and use swords or weapons of that type. I'm not very good at healing or magic. I started out as a gladiator and when i get to the level to change my job i want to but i don't know what is best for me. I eventually want to be a samurai but not sure what is best. thanks ahead of time.
+Heather Snyder as I was reading this, I was thinking you might enjoy Samauri. :) so perhaps sick with Glad which is a tank, but if nothing else, you'll have a tank and a DPS at 50 once you unlock SAM and that will give you a lot of options to play with later :)
I picked Elezen because I liked them being big and strong but not too bulky. But think I might change because I really don't like the run or standing animation (really effemenate and flamboyant). Once I subscribe and get heavensward I might pick Au Ra.
Thank you for the info, I have made and deleted two characters while looking for a job on the *free* mode of the game. From this vid it looks like I am going with Archer. Thanks for the help.
So I'm new from wow amd am having a hard time finding a character to play I really enjoy trying to push my limits and do things you normally can't meaning I play with high dps and survivability usually an in your face class last played a fury warrior in wow for dreanor expansion
As I was reading your comment, I was thinking Warrior might be the job for you, it's a tank job, but you can really try and push out a lot of DPS... If that sounds good, it starts as marauder, so you'll be good there. I have other thoughts, but I'd need more info from you, so let me know if Warrior doesn't fit what you're looking to do. :)
Great quality video. I recently picked up this being my first mmo and first FF game, I'm totally clueless. I'd like to play healer but still have some damage output would you suggest the Conjurer - Scholar?
Great Question... Just one note... the battle system and healers are changing with Stormblood (June 16h if you pre-order) and damage will be based off of your MND (mind) stat rather then INT... With that it's hard to predict how DPS will work with the new jobs... Right now, a lot of favor goes for Scholar... You have your fairy who can heal, and you have a large set of DPS skills. You won't get your healing abilities until level 30 for the most part, so I'd advice you to check out Conjurer and get it to at least 15 before switching over to Arcanist (base class for Scholar)... this won't be a requirement come 4.0, but we're less then 30 days away... Sorry if that's confusing. :S
Suicidal Panda Either or. Both healers have enough DPS to go through the story as well as to help out and be impactful in dungeons. However in dungeons, Primals(big boss fights), and raids, a Whitemage is much more likely to spend most of their time healing. While Scholar's tend to spend a lot more time putting out their DoTs and DPSing. Completely up to you.
I just started today, and I've been doing research and I think I want to be a summoner (arcanist I guess?) But I'm wondering if that is a good job for a new player? I've never played an mmo before but I think it suits my style. Or would you recommend I start as a different job and switch to summoner later?
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for this Video, kinda have to force myself to not play it so much since i still want to finish some rpgs... So i kinda feel like playing a Healer (since its Tab-targeting and i like the difficulty and tactical aspect) i went Conjurer and really enjoying myself currently, i really like Gridinia so far. My question: I plan on going Astrologian, would it be wiser to start as Conjurer or Arcanist? Once i hit lvl 15 i will try Arcanist until lvl 15, to see the beginning of that City (since i have 0 idea if the Story is the same or different until a sepcific lvl) Also, thanks for saying that with the Race change, even though im addicted to Zepla HQs videos, i completely forgot that :D (Im a Miqo'te and want to try out Viera since im still on my free trial) Sorry if its a bit long, but thanks for the video :D
Do you recommend this game on consoles? i really want to try it but my PC can't run it and i don't know how a controller is gonna work on a MMO especially the chat thing
My wife plays on PS4 and it runs great, and I hear the PS4 Pro runs even better. You can get a Bluetooth or USB keyboard if you want to chat, and I think the controller works wonders. :) I've got some controller guides I just updated that you could check out as well. :)
Ok so I have a question; you say that the classes are cosmetic but doesn’t their starting stats matter ? Also doesn’t the resistances the gods give you matter or is that only role play? I am still a little fresh in the game so I was just curious
We have our email in the about section if you want to reach out that way. We also have a discord server but that’s locked to supporters, Patreons, and Twitch Subs :)
Great question... arcanist will become a Scholar at level 30... You'll need to level Conjour until Stormblood comes out which is on the 16th of June... So if you think you'll be well beyond level 30 at that point (you could) I'd say, start as Conj, level it to 15, then switch to Arcanist and go from there. Nothing wrong in doing Aranist to 30 though... :)
Work To Game thank you very much for the help it's great knowing I could get help from you. so if I decide to stay with arcanist the whole way will I miss out on anything for not being a conj?
Nope, you won't miss out on anything. Your only issue will be that: till level 30 you will be queing as a DPS, so slightly longer que times. If you're in love with the Archanist, I'd definitely recommend starting as one.
You'll get a fantasia item once you sub for 30 days, with that you can change your race at anytime you wish by just using that item. You can also buy more from the mog station if desired. :)
I haven't played since ARR and I was hoping u would also explain the Lobbies and how they work, specially cos I wanna start playing and look for some friends 😣😣 so I would love to see if u can explain what I can and can't do while selecting either (ex: Primal or Aether ) .
Great question, to answer that here, is that the data center can all be played together, but currently they don't talk to one another. A data center has servers (which you'll pick one as your home) but you can travel to the others as well. You're matched up with people on the data center so in general, it's a community.
I wonder if I'll like the game. I played GW2 before it was f2p and liked it for some time, then I checked SWtOR and again hit almost max level, got some experience with dungeons, PvP and stuff. Now I play only WoW and enjoy it a lot but I just recalled how my cousin played FFXIV and highly recommended it to me. How is the tutorial? Any sense to start it?
I'm currently downloading the game now to try the free trial, i come from WoW but i really enjoy AoE dps classes what would you recommend if any classes are strong AoE?
+Tyler Miller I'd say Black Mage. Should be the strongest or one of the strongest AOE jobs out there. You'll need to pick thamuaturge to get started :)
Which class would be the best for a lot of dps over a large scale area? I dont like classes that focus on a 1 enemy and do lot of dmg to only this enemy.
Hello, I am new to ff14. I just got my character to lvl 50 to unlock samurai. I want to start as a lvl 1 samurai since I unlocked it. Is this not possible?
As already mentioned Summoner (Arcanist) since you will get pets to fight at your side - paired with the chocobo fighting pet you will be an (almost) unstoppable force. Then again, your high quality hp potions have a 23 seconds cooldown which makes any class great for soloing unless you overdo it with mob quantity engaged or if you try to tackle elite-mobs or ones with much higher level than you.
If you haven't seen you should check out the free trial which will let you play and level up all the way to 35, on all jobs (you can play all jobs on one character) without ever expiring. It's great for checking out before spending any money :)
@@Work2Game I'm sold already I've watched various gameplay now and it was your vid really with the in depth detail of race etc thanks again man great job
You can pick any race, but to unlock Dark Knight you need to clear the ARR content and get into ishguard. You should be able to do this via a story skip potion, otherwise just pick any other job that sounds interesting to you and go from there. :)
For your dungeon Ques you'll be stuck as DPS till level 30. But other than that you are correct. Don't forget though that Conjurer has a bit of DPS as well. (easily enough to get through the story, as well as contribute in dungeons and other content) Just hope you like pet classes as well as DoTs.
You can't pick them as starting jobs, those are jobs you unlock later once you've made it so far in the story/level... I would support them being level 1 jobs, but alas I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
Haha, I feel you man, that's why I started just wearing mine in the shower. Never noticed any additional wear or anything over the years of doing so either.

Ooh! Where to access the Hall of Novice. That's a big one too that is also unique t FFXIV, so new players may not know about it.
Great ideas! :) If I get time, I'll see if I can put these together as well. :)
i actually made a video on how to get retainers and use mb. i gotta do a novice hall video tho. but got to do my gil making ones first before 4.0

How do you drown a dragoon?
Put an AoE circle at the bottom of lake.
Alec Heck I get it lmao
This is by far the most comprehensive guide for this game I’ve found on the internet, thanks man.
Thanks Savage, glad we could help :)

Work To Game yeah me too I keep running into each job and leveling each up to 10-15 before I move on with whatever I've been doing lol
Nice guide. One of the best actually, keep up the good guides.
+Conan Platt thanks so much! Glad to hear you liked this! :)

Thanks Daniel :)
great video, the video quality made me think you had 1 mill + sub. You earned a new sub !
Thanks Mat... each +1 gets us closer to that Million Plus :) Man... that would be epic... :D
This is a really great video. Im completely new to the game (not new to mmos) but this helped me massively.
Thanks Ellie, glad this was a help and welcome to the game. Just take it a piece at a time and I hope you have a lot of fun. :)

Started with thamaturge and I'm really enjoying it, so close to level 30!
Congrats @Elijah :) It's a great job when it turns into Black Mage and I'm sure you'll have a blast :)
@@Work2Game I picked a thamsturge as well but thinking about switching since it runs out of mp easily.

Awesome news, and welcome to the game. Let us know if you have any questions. :)
Do you guys have any tutorials or know of any good ones to help a PS4 user set up the screen better? Not really familiar with this type of game and just started. Screen is really busy
I have a deep dive into the UI guide that you might enjoy. :) Let me know what you think on that video :)
So just take Arcanist to 30, and unlock Scholar and boom healer, then when you get to Astro, you can easily switch. :)
Plus, leveling up Arcanist you level up Summoner and Scholar, so it's like a two for one deal. :)
This helped a lot, thanks dude! :D
That's always great to hear... or read... :) Thanks so much, Hope you enjoy your time in game. :)
I like how you kept the intro short.
Thanks J Ribs, I try to respect everyone's time, and get them into the game as quickly as possible. Thanks for watching. :)
My friend wants me to play this and I found your video very helpful. I like your style :D
Thanks! Glad you left this comment. :) If you're checking out the game (or thinking about it) check out the free trial (it's unlimited and free) and you can take that and turn it into a real account once you are ready. :)
Hope you enjoy the game!
You guys are so friendly. In general I see videos about FF XIV and people is so nice. Do you have a discord group?
Yes, we do Giovanni, the discord link is in the header of our youtube page. Just click that link and join us :D
just started and i went lancer. thanks for your videos
Glad to hear it, I hope you end up enjoying the whole game. :D
That's how it was when it started, but now you can use multiple boosts. :D
@@Work2Game they are on sale at the moment, that's why I asked :3
What are you thinking about boosting up.
@@Work2Game I was thinking of boosting Bard, to bring more raid utility because I main mnk and rdm for DPS
Work To Game thanks heaps dude smashing those levels already with the boys
+NovemberEnd yes, but those are cross role skills now, so they can, if you choose to take them. :)
New player here. Lvl 11 Miqo’te archer atm. But dragoon and summoner will be my 2nd and 3rd when the time comes
Nice, and welcome Derrick to FFXIV :) Let us know if you have any questions. :)
Are the jobs in 14 similar to how they worked in ff11? Moves, play style etc? I had a few capped jobs back in like 2005 when I played 11. But that game had a lot more focus on race also at the time. So just curious, not sure if you had played 11 at all.
Wait with a one month subscription you get a vial if phantasmagoric?
Nice video! What is the best class for solo player in your opinion?
For casters I would say, SMN, for tank I would say PLD, for dps MCH, or SAM :)
@@Work2Game Great !! Thanks :)
Great video I'm stoked
Thanks so much :)
Almost 2 years later, do you figure the video is still on point or would you amend anything now?
Pretty much still on-point, but once I finish the story summary video I'm working on I'll look to address this again for everyone :)
Around 12.20 you fast mentioning some extra classes. I heared about the machinist, some like it, some not. Any idea about that class/job?
I know it's a killer in PvP for sure... it opens up once you get into the Heavensward expansion content... so it's not anything you can start out as, unless you jump potion it up. As for the job, it's interesting and like you said, lots of love and hate for it, just depends on who you ask and what patch. It's very mobile which is a plus, and I plan to spend more time with it here in the coming months for sure. :D
Hey Brian usually I play ranged dps or tanks. I want to roll tank in ff14. I’d like to be able to do damage while tanking would the marauder be a good choice?
Is there a class in FF14 like the Hunter from WoW? Ability to tame and raise beasts or animals to fight with?
Really good video, very informative thank you =]
Thanks so much! :)
Good video , very helpful!!
Thanks so much! :)
I picked Elezen because I liked them being big and strong but not too bulky. But think I might change because I really don't like the run or standing animation (really effemenate and flamboyant). Once I subscribe and get heavensward I might pick Au Ra.
I often debate if I want to change my race too... But I've been an elf for so long... #conflicted. :)
Thank you for the info, I have made and deleted two characters while looking for a job on the *free* mode of the game. From this vid it looks like I am going with Archer. Thanks for the help.
I'm really liking black mage. I play on PS4 using a controller. Do u think it will be too difficult to play?
+Zachary Reimers I have BLM at 60 right now and normally would say yes, but they have made some good adjustments. It's a ton of fun to play :)
Hello, is archer a good dps? Im new to this and want a good class
+Wasim Abou Salman its good, but not the top. But that's balanced by its utility, and mobility :)
Should I take one for the team and become a healer?
Great guide!
Thanks dude :)
I just started today, and I've been doing research and I think I want to be a summoner (arcanist I guess?) But I'm wondering if that is a good job for a new player? I've never played an mmo before but I think it suits my style. Or would you recommend I start as a different job and switch to summoner later?
Just started playing today
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for this Video, kinda have to force myself to not play it so much since i still want to finish some rpgs...
So i kinda feel like playing a Healer (since its Tab-targeting and i like the difficulty and tactical aspect) i went Conjurer and really enjoying myself currently, i really like Gridinia so far.
My question: I plan on going Astrologian, would it be wiser to start as Conjurer or Arcanist? Once i hit lvl 15 i will try Arcanist until lvl 15, to see the beginning of that City (since i have 0 idea if the Story is the same or different until a sepcific lvl)
Also, thanks for saying that with the Race change, even though im addicted to Zepla HQs videos, i completely forgot that :D (Im a Miqo'te and want to try out Viera since im still on my free trial)
Sorry if its a bit long, but thanks for the video :D
Thanks! I think trying them out seems fair enough but once you pick on just stick with it to cap it at all possible.
@@Work2Game Thanks for the quick answer :D
Do you recommend this game on consoles? i really want to try it but my PC can't run it and i don't know how a controller is gonna work on a MMO especially the chat thing
My wife plays on PS4 and it runs great, and I hear the PS4 Pro runs even better. You can get a Bluetooth or USB keyboard if you want to chat, and I think the controller works wonders. :) I've got some controller guides I just updated that you could check out as well. :)
Get it on PS4. Whenever you get a a good PC you can switch over to it.
The cool thing is you can have this game on console and be able to play with pc players and vise versa for pc.
Ok so I have a question; you say that the classes are cosmetic but doesn’t their starting stats matter ? Also doesn’t the resistances the gods give you matter or is that only role play? I am still a little fresh in the game so I was just curious
Is it possible to do a red mage build? Or if not, how do you solo quest as a white mage? Thanks! And great video, I learned a bunch. :]
It is, and it's something I'll be working on. :) I don't have an ETA at the moment though. :)
you also get a Fantasia by completing a bunch of level 50 storyline Quest the pretorium I think
Oh nice, I didn’t know they added that to those quests :)
Work To Game yea
Work To Game if u need help with anything just ask
do u have any media i can talk to u on?
We have our email in the about section if you want to reach out that way. We also have a discord server but that’s locked to supporters, Patreons, and Twitch Subs :)
I really want to play as an arcanist but do the healer role what should I do? I'm new!
If you're in love with the Archanist, I'd definitely recommend starting as one.
where do you get those class charachter photos?
+Full Burst Brian draws them. He's a published cartoonist.
Work To Game cool ;0 & Ty for the video rlly helpful
+Full Burst glad to hear it :)
So I go at arcanist for scholar right?
Correct, you can become a Scholar at level 30 :)
Nice video, really helpfull!
Thanks Timo, I hope you enjoy your time with the game :)
wow. didn't knew I can change race if I start with stormblood... until WHEN do I have to change it once I started?
You'll get a fantasia item once you sub for 30 days, with that you can change your race at anytime you wish by just using that item. You can also buy more from the mog station if desired. :)
Work To Game so after 30 days then
I think you can just buy them now, but you get a "free" one with your first subscription.
+Chris Grabowski I've seen a lot of AOE DPS out of the black mage and even SMN, but I don't know if that's what your thinking :)
Work To Game Yeah I guess I go black mage, through I prefer close quarter attacks but you cannot have everythi g right. Thank you for your help.
Hello, I am new to ff14. I just got my character to lvl 50 to unlock samurai. I want to start as a lvl 1 samurai since I unlocked it. Is this not possible?
Any classes that are a mix between dps and tank 🤔
Great question. You’ll want Warrior which starts off as Marauder
@@Work2Game thanks I'll give it shot before I go dark Knight I like big swords 😂
Same! I like DRK too. Let me know what you think when you unlock it. :)
you got a great persona
Wow! Thanks so much! :)
Aha you're welcome, thanks for informative video, convinced me enough to start playing!
+Chad Racelis glad to hear it and I hope you enjoy your time in game :)
What is a good class to solo in FF XIV? One that is good for someone new to MMOs.
Warrior or summoner in my opinion. That would be Maruder or Archinist :)
Where does Bard fit? Is it a healer?
It's more like a DPS, it has some utility that is really good to have. :) But no, it's no healer.
I want a fast paced dps spec idc if it’s melee or ranged. What should I try?
I’d pick Monk (pugilist) or Ninja (Rogue). You can unlock rogue once you hit level 10 and the quest is in limsa:)
This is super helpful!
Fantasia doesn't allow you to change your name! Otherwise good video for newbies.
+Katana thanks, you are correct, I confused it with the character renaming service. :)
Yeah back in 1.0 they were given out as veteran rewards but now players only get 1 free from beating ARR
I don't know if I should start with the paladin or black mage
If you want quick queue times for content and don't mind letting people know you're new, I'd roll on a paladin. :)
Very good intro to the game currently playing eso and it's a little stale I'll have some thing else to play now thanks man
If you haven't seen you should check out the free trial which will let you play and level up all the way to 35, on all jobs (you can play all jobs on one character) without ever expiring. It's great for checking out before spending any money :)
@@Work2Game I'm sold already I've watched various gameplay now and it was your vid really with the in depth detail of race etc thanks again man great job
Thanks Jamie, I’m glad I could help in some way, hit us up if you have any questions :)
Hello i wanna ask what race and what i have to pick to be dark knight?
You can pick any race, but to unlock Dark Knight you need to clear the ARR content and get into ishguard. You should be able to do this via a story skip potion, otherwise just pick any other job that sounds interesting to you and go from there. :)
So your first character is able to obtain all dps/tank/healing actions? Meaning you only need one character
+Mike Sf correct, :)
8:57 hey nice Kain Highwind pose
So if I go with arcanist, I can do a DPS/healer combo?
For your dungeon Ques you'll be stuck as DPS till level 30. But other than that you are correct. Don't forget though that Conjurer has a bit of DPS as well. (easily enough to get through the story, as well as contribute in dungeons and other content) Just hope you like pet classes as well as DoTs.
Sorry can you start with red mage or dark knight
Just started this game and I’m aiming for summoner lol
Welcome to FFXIV!!! :) I love Summoner :)
I want to make a white mage based purely on healing and support... anyone have any suggestions for me?
Im starting off as an archanist i really like summoning but im not that familiar how to level up on it. I was hoping for some more noob tips
You get a fantasia item every month?
Can you start with red mage?
what about dancer
why are black knight and red mage not in this?
You can't pick them as starting jobs, those are jobs you unlock later once you've made it so far in the story/level... I would support them being level 1 jobs, but alas I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
which server is the newest one?
Off the top of my head, I'm not sure... I'll ask around. :)
It's possibly the Omega Server, which is apart of the EU data center (I think)
Samurai you gotta finish the Vanilla MSQ up to Ultima Weapon and also get to level 50 to play.
which game should I play? Blade and soul or ff xiv
I haven’t played blade and soul but I do know FFXIV has a free trial that you can take advantage of... I’m bias but I say FFXIV :)
FFXIV.
Right now i'm playing a marauder on the free trial. I'm hoping to main red mage once I buy the full game for stormblood!
Hi, what is your pc spec and monitor? The game look kinda nice at your video
+CatOn FireZ I the the i7 Surface Studio :) and the game is running at 1080p :)
Nice scapular my dude -- I have the same one.
Thanks Oliver, I rarely leave home without it... more like never... but there have been times where I forget to put it back on after a shower. ;)
Haha, I feel you man, that's why I started just wearing mine in the shower. Never noticed any additional wear or anything over the years of doing so either.
+Oliver Park the only issue I found is after a shower it would still be wet and would get my shirt wet... it's a weird nit pick of mine though ;)
