If you do it how he does in this video, you will break the clips at the other end of the dash pad and when you put it back together, it will squeek / rattle. It really isn't that much extra effort to take out the last few screws, disconnect the other speaker, and remove the dash pad completely.
I can't believe I just did all this, found the broken tooth & everything, got it all back together, but it still hasn't fixed the problem !!! I guess the stepper motor must have burnt out or something. On the brightside, I took the opportunity to really clean the lens properly & its looks spectacular
It's been years since I had to do this operation and the gear has also been bought, but I just haven't bothered to start. Maybe this year.. it would be good to look at the actual miles and get the mechanical meter correct read
can you please link where you order the gear replacement part? the part here in volvo land sweden kost 270dollars plus labor 150dollars if i dont do it my self.
