At 1:00 place heavy rag over battery - leave in scoot. 5:06 -behind black rubber disc at 10 O'Clock on fan cover (just below info label) is window for seeing TDC timing mark when engine turned, use both methods to check for TDC. Must feel slight movement in valves or spin >> 360 again to TDC. 8:10 add a few drops of oil to lube things before replacing valve cover. Very helpful video there, Canada- thanks for posting!
I watched this video just before going out to do my valves this morning. It really made things easy. I adjusted my valves, cleaned and gapped my spark plug and checked my drive belt... and all that only took 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Very helpful! Thanks! The Cyclepedia manual has a few more disassembly steps which seem unnecessary after watching this video. That manual also lists 0.06 mm as the specified clearance. Where did you get 0.1 mm?
Hi, i have kymco people s250. I want to adjust the valves of it but I don’t know what’s the space between bar and hole for s250. Could you please help me with that? Thanks in advance👍
have you (or anyone) noticed that you need adjusting, or is it just per service book maintenance? i think in this kind of engine, valves/shafts would need to be quite worn before engine starts playing, but i may be wrong
Wow! You really know what your doing! This helped me BIG TIME! Video is well done and you explain thing slowly so my slow brain can process the info correctly :) p.s. you have a nice calm sounding voice which also helped me to keep calm and from blowing a friggin gasket when I kept dropping those damn battery cover screws and my miller light beer! Keep up the good work! See ya on the road sir!
so why do we do valve clearance adjustment? is it because when we throttle, we dont get the fluid movement? isnt that because of belt and gear problem?
I got a like 200i @ 9000+ miles and the "9" on the odometer is red. anyone know what that indicates? New rings/piston or what?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ho the pickup and the fly wheel works on kymco 200cc scooter and where is the timing mark
Thanks for this! You make it look so easy. I will attempt on my 2012 Kymco Like 200i.
MUST make certain you feel movement in the rocker arms - or you are NOT at TDC. Spin 360° , try again.
IS there a Check Engine light blink sequence for this ?? How often should the valve clearance be checked.

Great video , Thank you .
Thank you for this video; i will do the same on my Kymco People S200i (different body but same engine).
Why can't Honda give you this kind of accessibility to their engine top end?
Thanks fellow scooterbro
Very nicely done!
May I ask what were the symptoms which prompted you to check your valve adjustment
Thank you for this video, it's very helpful!
Very nice video.
Every scooter I've had had different valve clearances for intake & exhaust. This bike uses the same for both?
so why do we do valve clearance adjustment? is it because when we throttle, we dont get the fluid movement? isnt that because of belt and gear problem?
can you please make a video on changing rear pads on a kymco like 200i thank you
Thanks for sharing mate!
