Chad, .................... of all the tools as an olde bodyman, it was the 8" orbital sander, bar none. I could cut round reverse curves in panels in no tyme flat. Those were the days. I'm long retired but enjoyed those years when I was a lot younger. My advice- use all your safety stuff, Dust masks, goggles/glasses, ear plugs. And keep that fire extinguisher handy.
The point you made about doing something quickly and right apposed to taking all day on it and getting it right is amazing.. I struggle with guys at work all the time with the same situation.
I love how at the beginning of this build there were so many knocking the build saying he fucked it up and took too much out (much like the bike trawler) and now everyone is saying how awesome it looks. Far too many people judge something before it’s finished lol
It’s easy for those that are not doing jack to look over the shoulder and criticize. Do it your way let him do it his way . The finished product is where opinions matter good or bad .
Those Hub caps that you put on there really look great makes the car look sharp. Keep up the good work, brother, love your videos. Jolene does a great job of a film with him
I just love this project! I think the cool aspects of the understated original style are amped up. Complimentary, not contradictory. Stylish not busy. 😊
Adjust driver side door before door gap set it’s going to go up 1/4” passenger door is probably ok love the show . Any day in the garage when your retired is a good day happy new year from northern Minnesota
I would be sure and go get the drivers door hinge or hinges if they’re both bad on your car. It’s a longshot, but the back door hinges may be the same as the front. If so the donor car that your friend has should have just what you need to fix that drooping drivers door
Nothing wrong with doing it tight and right and fast as long as you don’t start taking short cuts. Of course your experience and techniques is why we’re here!✌🏻❤️🇺🇸🙏🏻🇨🇦
I just thought of something that you probably do the same, when I’m through painting some thing or welding and after I swept up the big stuff, I’ll take a cheap electric leaf blower and get in the back corner of my shop and blow everything just like blowing leaves.I take it outside and it blends in and you’ll never have to see it.
Doing something fast but spot on is an art that only professional skilled people can do. The Army taught me that. Slow can cost time and money, and in the military, can upset someone's day. Keep up the great work Guys well done. 👍
Nice job Chad, People can say what they want but thats really is a nice job. Thats alot of work done for only having 8 days into it. Most bodymen at most shops would not be at that stage in 8 days, and the work wouldent be any better. Looks good!
@@howquickwell a filmed hour anyway! I do notice that the next video stuff has been done off camera! I am not taking anything away from the team they are amazing but I’m certain stuff is done off camera if that were the case and a built was done in thirty days there would only be thirty some hours to complete that build! Impossible!
You're right about speed and work quality. In my 50+ years of fixing I've seen a lot of jobs that were done slow that were really poor. Speed and quality are only done after years of practice. Good job on that door gap
Bad Chad, Last comment you made says I will do what I want. I fully understand how hard it is working when public opinion is breathing down your back. I never worked within the media spotlight, but I will tell you that even working for USPS as I and others have and that can be bad enough at times. People, human as they are, can be quite intense and unfair. I am speaking as a sole entity. That said, I will say that people who seek to cause problems, criticize, and judge are all to common. They see themselves as a perfect creation and choose to throw their own flaws on others. Why? It just works better for them. That way, they never see themselves as possibly wrong. Upon having a talk with my 16-year-old grandson it was he who pointed out what I have always known. I will probably get called on this last statement and that it is fine. Watched your work today on the car it is coming along very nicely. I love watching how the line and the creation takes place. When it comes right down to it you are creating a new car that has never been seen in its own totality and that is cool. Keep on, keeping on. Best Wishes and Happy New Year 2024 to you, Jolene and all the crew.
I may disagree with several things you do.. I will agree completely that time does not reflect quality. Doing half the job may take half the time. But doing the job right doesn’t need to take twice as long.
Fast equals experienced in your case Chad. Some guys may be mad because you're showing their clients how much faster quality work can be done. To those of us considering trying this stuff for the first time, your channel is an excellent resource and a great watch on a snowy Sunday evening. MERRY NEW YEAR to you all🎉✨🍻 See ya next year !!!👍🏁
The stance of this car is very nice I believe if Ford was alive I’m sure he would approve. My favorite part is how you brought the roof forward and extended the catwalk! Looks amazing team Hiltz!!!!🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Richard here. Two-thirds of it can be avoided with the proper cut for the car you are customizing. I have seen a lot of them that came out a lot better and they never used mud for any part of the car. Unlike with this one that was FUBARED before he put the roof back on.
I kinda know what it takes but don’t have nerve to do this to a car but I love watching Chad and the crew Working on the car I agree with your comment 👏👏👏👏👏👍
@@user-xf2my3hq8x"chop a car with no mud" Haha good 1, in my 35 years of bodywork I've never seen or heard of that. Tells me you've never done this kinda work before. If you want to criticize do a little research first so you don't sound foolish to us real car guys that done it all our life. 😉✌
Happy New Year Chad, Jolene, & Fina I will be back next year! Thank you for the lesson on body work, the Shoe Box is really shaping up nicely. Jolene nice camera & video work as always, I hope you were wearing a mask! I understand that Chad can't wear a mask and talk to us but, I still hate to see him breathing that stuff in! You three have a great holiday & I hope that Doug & Nate do as well!
I wish he would talk less!! He says the reason being, the reason being, and the reason being 50 times on every video. Love the show but way to much talk!!! Just my opinion.
There is something wrong with that windshield, its to short looks like a back window. Door glass appears to be higher than front glass. Need to fix that before worrying about door gaps.
Happy new year to you Jolene and Chad and Doug and Nathan ! Please paint it not two tone ! A dark smoky Grey a deep maroon or British racing green .the headlights could be frenched the body could be tubed out the rear tail lights could be worked on or changed ! With every ,od your making this build more desirable !Thumbs-up on this build ❤
Chad, when I post about using safety gear, it is not because I want to berate, it is because I want there to be something left of you for Jolene when your body doesn't want to go on. Good luck.
Fina needs a doggie door cut in the door or somewhere that you can cut a hole. I just cut one for my Coone hound Dottie. After I cut the hole I cut fabric into strips so she can walk thru like a walk in freezer door. Just a idea. Have a great new years both of you guys ;)
I really enjoy all of your videos, I’m always amazed at your work, your channel is one of my favorites on you tube, thank you and Jolene, and Doug and Nate, and fina . Happy New Year’s to you and Jolene. Brian…
I'll like what you guys are doing to that car and that Gave me an idea to do that to my hobby the same year of that ford and l have started it when l'm done with it . I'll send you a picture of it .and thank you for being here l love your show.
Like the stance and window lines. I wonder if you're friends parts car has good sheetmetal around both taillights. If it does you could cut it out with the raised section on the quarter panel and fit it under yours to do a double stack taillight and have twin streaks on the back.
You show people how to do it and they need to be thankful for that I enjoy watching I found by watching you easier way to do it thanks for that y’all have a great new year up there in Canada from us way down here in Tallapoosa GA
Suicide or gull wing doors brother !! The builds u doin now are waaaayyy cooler than ur tv show. I couldnt watch the plymouth build coz i was soo jealous of that car. Freakin loved it !!

No safety on this show, all my friends in there 50s 60s all got bad lungs, this guy is on his way in joining the club
On with the Bugatti next then! No doubt in my mind!! 🥴Happy New Year to all in the Hiltz workshop.....
One of the best projects to date. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me.

Happy new year to all.
Happy NewYear to everyone at HiLTZ Auto CO
Here to see this one finished into paint. The bodywork videos are my favorite.
Honestly I would make sure doors open and close properly before doing gaps, reason being they may move when replacing bushings or adjusting..

Spot on last build as well 2:46
Good idea imo!

A practical common sense approach! I love your videos.
I still have 7hrs and 15 minutes before midnight here in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. But happy new year to all the world.

I would suggest to put a doggie door in for Fina. She would really like that and happy new year to all of you.😊
Racoons would use it too ! That's probably why they don't have one .
This is one of the best looking chops I’ve ever seen. The back windows is stunning.
Chad you're a pro to the max. You're a great teacher. Other car builders have fancy equipment and 20 guys doing the work and never show the details.
On a side note, those hubcaps really suit this car !
Thank you Chad for making these video today I learned something that I never new and that is awesome thank you again Happy New Year Chad & Jolene
I wish you, Jolene, Doug and Nathe a happy new year. Personal and professional success. Andrew from Switzerland

I love it I think it would be beautiful a dark midnight blue metallic 🎉
Love to watch a true craftsman at work.
He makes it look easy but he been doing that stuff for a long time
Enjoy your evening, here's hoping your New Year is a good one.

Hi Chad and Jolene great video and i wish you A Happy new year and Doug & Nathan to and Fina😉 Greetings from the Netherlands Chiel

How are people supposed to learn anything if he doesn't explain what he's doing. He works as he talks. Would be boring without him talking IMO.😉✌

I'm 79 & you inspire me to do mt cab corners on my Pick up . The passenger side came out pretty good , now on to the drivers side
Happy new years folks ,wish you all good health and happiness!!!!!
Helluva great job! Happy New Year to you and Jolene!
You are an artist
What a great way to get gaps filled and straight. Happy New Year!
Bravo Bad Chad ✌ Namber one!!
That is a good idea of making sure that the doors tight and right before going to far forward
Happy New Year to both of you. I would have fixed the hinges for the drooping doors before making the gaps.

Yes Chad! The 99.99 percent who DON'T have 20 grand toolshops ( like me) and want to do it themselves can do this and still have good gaps.
Great work guys. 😎👍
Yes, of course, a job done quickly does not mean that it is necessarily done badly. It's a question of skill.
Great show
