When I was first introduced to tapping, I was in depression and experiencing extreme anxiety. The counsellor who showed me the EFT basics used the same phrase "I deeply love and accept myself" in the set-up statement but it felt so "wrong" that I cringed internally every time I repeated it. It was the opposite to what I was feeling towards myself at the time and I didn't try tapping again for a long time. Much later I found other phrases that resonated much better. Simply by adding the words "I choose to ... (e.g. accept how I feel)" or "I'm willing / open to..." makes a huge difference. I think the key is to find the words that feel true to you and then you will feel the difference.
Don’t say “my anxiety” say “the anxiety that I’m feeling”. It sends a message to your subconscious mind to not hold on to the anxiety as part of the identity. The end goal is to be free from that anxiety. Not to attribute it to one self.

I was never consistent and learned it 6 yrs ago but guess who’s doing in a daily basis 🤣 it’s important to be consistent otherwise nothing will help
With eft, it literally doesn't matter how you perceive that ones "subconscious" interprets it. In fact, your always better off using the terminology that naturally occurs to you. In fact Gary Craig mentions this concept in his series on eft, he realized that he was injecting his own idea of how he perceived the clients issue and had them tap using his words - until one time when the patient wasn't decreasing suds level, the client interjected and said that that setup phrase didn't really reflect how the client perceived their issue - they changed it to the clients wording and had a major breakthrough. Ever since then he taught that as basic practice; allow the client to form their own phraseology. Although I agree that outside of eft, nlp applies in terms of effective speaking - never own the debilitating concept.
@@barb6056 that’s another concept though, putting words in clients mouths is not gonna help them obviously, allowing them to express what best reflects their problem in their own language is Key and then from there illuminating the attribution is actually a must to ensure sustainable results. So I disagree, it actually matters what language you use when you speak about your problem, and as a practitioner they need to be aware of this and bring it to the clients awareness, otherwise their work is purely surface level.
Sounds dramatic but EFT actually changed my life. The first time I tried it I ended up expelling stored shame from my childhood... Ever since I have been on a self love journey and I am a different and better person now

Thanks Nicole for all your work that you provide to us. One word: Wow. Just came from watching a video giving advice, and they recommended EFT. I looked it up, and not going to lie, I was slightly skeptical. I came across your video first and tried it after watching. And was *shocked* as to how much of a difference I felt immediately after. Thanks for taking your time to share this!
Eft helped me immensely when I was stuck in abusive relationship. I am sad to see it debunked on wikipedia. It works! For free. My best advice is to just try it. The only thing you have to lose is your anxiety. Wish they taught this in schools. Children today could use this. The only thing I did different is to keep repeating the "completely love and accept myself" with every tap. It is magical how your stress can just melt away. Also a good technique to identify what is bugging you on a daily basis. I hope everyone reading this finds a private spot and just tries it, even if they don't have major stress now. Learn the technique and when major life events happen, you are much better at coping. Try other videos if you need to, but please just try it.
EFT is amazing, it's magical and IT WORKS where nothing else does, with no side effects and no medication; you can get to learn it yourself if you can identify the root cause. EFT for everything, is my motto.
This has changed my life after just fighting my anxieties for a very long time when I've learned this I've also addressed my long time anxiety which has caused so many negative effects to my health. I am not yet fully healed by I am slowly getting to my complete healing. Our mind is so powerful and it can be a crazy world inside but there's a way out. No need to be trapped inside. :)
The key to using EFT effectively to release old energy/trauma/hurts is being able/willing/ready to "walk thru" the pain "full on" while you tap, which most of us avoid at all costs via avoidance 😊. A blanket statement doesn't work to release stuck energy ('all this trauma I feel") - you need to be very specific about an event(s) that traumatised you or caused you pain (even tho I feel crappy about my job because my boss is a jerk" - not gonna work like "even tho I feel angry that my boss did (such and such specific event)...). It's not as convenient as a blanket statement, but it's the only thing that really works. Something else will typically pop up as you go that needs to be "tapped out", like peeling back the layers of an onion until you get to the center. If you're not re-living the pain of a *specific* event - full on - while you tap then the "grip" it has on you can't be released. You can start with a blanket statement to get you going paying attention to what pops up in your head and following (tapping) that wherever it leads you. This is one of those "walking thru the fire's" you need the strength to do to get to the other side. If it's too scary for you to do on your own, find a qualified, skilled practitioner to help you or just keep at it until you're ready and hit the gold. The set up statement and repeat should hit a deep nerve - bring you to tears. Facing trauma head on can be/feel really overwhelming...too much to bare - you want to ignore it in hopes it'll just go away. Just remember that in just a few minutes of reliving the pain you and your body can release it for good. That makes it a lot less scary. If EFT isn't helping, keep at it until you're in the mind space to do it or get help. Brief pain = release. Hoping this helps and you find your peace and release. Tip: if you have a hard time saying "I deeply and completely love myself" you can try "I deeply and completely accept myself" (you might have a hard time with that statement too but it may be more accordance to you. "Accepting myself" is the statement the "gold standard" Gary Craig - the originator of EFT recommends in your set up statement). Also, draw on all the body work tools you can: if you can afford it and are okay with it, therapeutic massage with a skilled and empathetic masseuse is excellent for helping to release stored up mental/emotional "gunk" in your body. Same with chiropractic. I also want to mention the use of therapeutic/calming herbs such as lemon balm, chamomile and especially saffron (as teas) - mood lifters and "calmers'. Look for all the ways available to you to help your body/mind/soul (nutrition, rest, excersize, fun, laughter, hugs, positive people...even if just on TH-cam). Just don't give up. Keep at it until you find your way (there is a way) ☺
I just tried this for the first time after seeing your post on Instagram and wanting to look more into it. I feel so much more calm just doing this twice by myself. I have very bad anxiety. Gonna add a little eft map to my journal with the emotion wheel. Such a wonderful tool.

I can say that I felt relief and less tense when I refocused on the issues after doing so. This is definitely something I will be using more often. Thank you!
Tapping my forehead - between my eyebrows inpeticula seems to help alot. I over think massively especially when I am worried. Hello there fellow travelers. I have been tapping for years. I am subscribed to Bill Yates. It's amazing how difficult I make things due to fear of not being able to find the info to help me feel better. You, Dr., have changed my life. Thank you for the info.
I just had a difficult experience with a guest. I happened upon this video and tried it it took me from being very shaky from the experience to calm state fairly quickly. Thank you

You explained this great! I love your ability to pair logical/technical terms with healing concepts so that it can be better absorbed through different levels and have the message sink in. I really appreciate your work, thank you.
I am so grateful this video showed up in my feed today! I have used EFT in the past and it is amazing, yet sometimes the simplest things we instinctively know to do for ourselves become the easiest to forget! Thank you so much for your YT and FB content!
My therapist showed EFT to me, it helps me get into a calm space and recognise my emotions. I do it for 5 minutes, before commencing a 20 minute meditation. I don’t find it particularly transformative like meditation, but I don’t know if my duration is enough. I’ll keep at it though, I definitely notice some mild benefits (mainly positive affirmation and acute emotional awareness).
I have found this to be a wonderful way to release the negative energy in my body. Then it allows me to move forward in the situation without the emotional blockage. Thanks for the share!
The first time I encountered tapping, it was called TFT. It was a little longer a process, had more tapping points, and involved eye movements and even humming. I was scheduled to go caving with some friends, and as our guide described the cave, the pipe we had to crawl through to enter, the drop-down, the narrow space next like crawling under your bed for 10 yards before it finally opened up into a room 3 feet high... My anxiety was through the roof. After just a couple rounds, the fear and anxiety were gone, and I had a great time in the cave. I continued using the tapping and tried to share the technique with others, who mostly thought I was nuts. But I knew it worked. I've long forgotten the TFT, but this EFT is abbreviated and simpler to remember. It always makes me yawn. Someone told me that means it's working. That person also told me it makes some people pass gas. I'm glad I just yawn. I'm diving back into tapping, this time to tackle weight loss, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar. Then I'll start to use tapping to manifest my desires. I'm excited about the new adventures.
Started therapy with a really skilled EFT therapist - I don´t doubt for a second that it can help a lot of people. Personally EFT makes me feel very confused and seem to reinforce rather than diminish the things I´m trying to improve and/or get rid of. As with many other things in life it´s not for everybody just wish I´d known sooner so i could´ve spent my time and money elsewhere ;-)
Thank you for simplifying the comments needed! I’ve always been hesitant to try because I get hung up on the words I need to use as I tap. I didn’t realize it could be just effective by simply naming the feeling!
This method works so well! Thank you for the reminder. There are excellent tapping book for kids teaching them about emotions, how to name them, and relieve anxiety or tension we found helpful in our house. Thank you for posting more amazing content on your channel!
Love you got all this in...under 7 minutes. I think TH-cam vids unnecessarily too long and most concepts could probably be conveyed properly in less than 5 or 10 minutes. Its sad we are where we are, but I rarely have time to watch videos over 10 minutes anymore. Noticing absolutely loving the 2-3 min vids available now on TH-cam also...allows me to learn quickly/succintly...then go about my day thinking deeper/processing that video, then exploring more/deeper another day...ps, this reminds me of EMDR work...I'd be interested to see a pro/con video, or rather, which technique better to use in which circumstances! Also, I love your role play videos on IG. Find them extremely applicable to "see" it in "real life". Thank you, I recommend your IG channel CONSTANTLY! big fan here.
Thanks so much for sharing your story and all these videos...💗🙏 They are very useful to me 💗🙏 Yes the sound is very low in this video... Could you kindly arrange to load the video again with better volume..
I am excited to try this technique. Thank you so much! I noticed you are talking really fast, which is a bit stressful to listen to for me. I like the later videos I have been watching where you are talking more slowly and intentionally. It's also easier to follow. Super thank you!
Hi, thanks sumbal tasawwar for your comment. I've looked up Brad yates videos n it's helping me alot. So sending a lot of gratitude for leaving this comment. :)
I watch this video, and as I do, so many thoughts arise in me... mainly: I have severe C-PTSD, I am an INFJ, and I have a very fucked up relationship with my parents... it's part of the reason for the fucked-upness that is my life. I am so ashamed at the current state of my life. I have no clue how to escape the horrors of it. my life is fucked up beyond imagination. what to do? 999-trillion layers of guilt and shame and rage and regret and grief, surface in me and consume me. eating my soul alive...
Great presentation, good clear voice, it shows you care about what you do. The sound doesn't come through well on this video. A good editing program will have an equalizer built in so you can Jack up the volume. Keep up the good work..
I have a life time of crap that I brought to my tap. I do feel like crying & I feel very tired now. My limbs are tingling & I feel lighter in breathing. Which is what always leads me to anxiety attacks is tight chest. I will continue to try technique & study more . Thank you oh & now my nasal way is wide open & I can smell my shampoo in my hair . Very interesting

Hi Nicole, I recently started following you everywhere lol how often should you do this exercises and can I do them as I wake up or going to bed instead of waiting for anxiety to strike in? Thanks for all you do!
Lalu sekarang apakah kamu masih melakukan teknik EFT ini ? Bagaimana hasilnya ?
That is a great tip. I'll remember to say things that I believe, and work from there.
Pretty much, you dont have to use the same standard words. EFT is very modifiable

I've had tremendous pressure in my eyes for days up on days ,thankyou so much honestly.....
Thank you! Your advice is always so practical and targeted. You're a godsend
It really works if we practice. Best of luck for everyone, we all deserve to be happy :)
Christine Cardoza can you let us know a couple of those book titles you recommend?
I have wpw and it’s taking over my life
Thank you! So glad you shared this video!!!⭐️
My Higher self guided me to this technique through repetitive synchronicities
It really worked for the exact boss negative feedback situation. :) thanks
Thank you for sharing this like others I experienced instant relief doing this ❤️

I've watched many videos on E.F.T.
This one is the best.
EFT helped me so much I decided to get certified in it. Great Video Much Love
I really like your presentation of this! It was right to the point! Thank you!! Will be trying this. God bless
Thank you so much, I see this being a deeply helpful practice for me. My only note, and maybe it's just me, but the sound was really low in volume.
Hi Amy! Thanks. I forwarded your comment to my video creator. Appreciate this feedback.
I completely agree I was going to comment same thing

Thanks so much for sharing your story and all these videos...💗🙏 They are very useful to me 💗🙏
Yes the sound is very low in this video... Could you kindly arrange to load the video again with better volume..
Even tho i'm feeling ______ i deeply love and accept myself
omg, i fell asleep right away after doing this. it felt like an emotional burst going out from my body. Great technique
Great and easy explanation of EFT, looking forward to using for my anxiety. Thank you!
Thank you. I am so visual and this helped.
Deeply needed this today. Thank you.
I'm glad this was helpful
I am excited to try this technique. Thank you so much! I noticed you are talking really fast, which is a bit stressful to listen to for me. I like the later videos I have been watching where you are talking more slowly and intentionally. It's also easier to follow. Super thank you!
Thank you Nicole! A great resource for EFT on youtube is Brad Yates! :)
Hi! Thanks so much
The Holistic Psychologist You and Brad Yates would make a GREAT podcast.
He's soooo good ❤️😍
Brad Yates has copied Mr Gary Craig, the founder of EFT. He fails to acknowledge him.
Hi, thanks sumbal tasawwar for your comment. I've looked up Brad yates videos n it's helping me alot. So sending a lot of gratitude for leaving this comment. :)
I watch this video, and as I do,
so many thoughts arise in me...
mainly: I have severe C-PTSD,
I am an INFJ, and I have a very
fucked up relationship with my parents...
it's part of the reason
for the fucked-upness
that is my life. I am so ashamed
at the current state of my life.
I have no clue how to escape
the horrors of it. my life is fucked up
beyond imagination. what to do?
999-trillion layers of guilt and shame
and rage and regret and grief,
surface in me and consume me.
eating my soul alive...
Thank you for this. I am using it. It's great!
Much needed. thank you so much❤️
Great presentation, good clear voice, it shows you care about what you do. The sound doesn't come through well on this video. A good editing program will have an equalizer built in so you can Jack up the volume. Keep up the good work..
Cant wait to try this on myself and my clients!
Love this!!! Seen it before it pictures on Instagram but this explains it so well 🙏 thank you
Like PTSD "Tapping"

Thank you so much you wonderful Lady 🌎✨
I can't wait to try this!!!
Ha! I follow you for a long time on ig Bc I love your posts there. Was looking for an eft page and first one I come up with is yours. Must be fate. I’m supposed to get your book soon
Thank you Dr Nicole for this easy and understandable lesson

When my therapist told me about this three years ago, I didn't give it much of a chance.
Very helpful even after a couple times
❤ this was such a great video very helpful . Is there a follow up for this…?
My emotional spots are in the palms of my hands . I place them together and pray to the lord to take my fears away.
Hi Nicole, I recently started following you everywhere lol how often should you do this exercises and can I do them as I wake up or going to bed instead of waiting for anxiety to strike in? Thanks for all you do!
Why do so many people use the word "literally" in every sentence. That's not what it's used for.
Have you considered doing a shadow work video?
It is super good!! Thank you!! :)
