I never clicked faster on one of your videos. George Harrison is the best, this song is magical. I think I requested it some months ago so thank you very much for this, it made me very happy ☺️
Magnificamente executada, essa linda canção de George. Na minha opinião é como uma "quintessência harrisoniana", o exemplar mais característico de todo seu álbum triplo, "All Things Must Pass" (embora "My Sweet Lord" tenha sido a que marcou época)... Obrigado pelo vídeo.🙂
This might be my favorite video of yours. ATMP has always been a Top 3 favorite album for me, and I think at this point it's in the Top 2, tied with whatever Beatle album is on my mind at any given time. Very well done!
The song I waited for so long but in the end it was worth the wait because the result is such a great and beautiful cover. Pure perfection. Thank you Sam 🙌🏼
All Things Must Pass is one of my all time favourites albums, love this song. you do a great cover. I've always loved vibrato. Paul Kossoff is my favourite guitar player, Clapton once asked him how he achieved such a good vibrato.
I could not figure out how in the hell Clapton was getting all of those sounds in that recording. How did you figure out all of that? Its not in the tablature. Or I don’t understand how to read it? Anyway, that sounds great! Good job!
Paul and John are very overlooked in their Solo careers compared to Harrison. George is a very underrated solo musician, my favorite solo songs from all the 4 Beatles are mostly George's 😅
OMGoodness! What an excellently rendition of another George’s greats!!! You nailed it with the utmost perfection!!! Love it! ❤ Thank you Sam for sharing! I can say no more🤗🥹🥲🤗
Great cover and perfect tone as always. Interesting that all of the three Beatles, with their distinct styles, never really go for those mega-big bends
Hey man, if you don't mind me asking, do you know what kind of pedal George may be using on Hari's On Tour, live on '74? We can see him steping into someting on the slow part of the song. Sorry about my poor english. Hope you understand. Cheers!
Its my dream to be as good as a guitar player as you, I love love love George and so hearing these songs really just broken down raw and played by you is just the coolest thing ever
I’ve been waiting for this one, beautifully done. The note choice, bends, and vibrato always sounded george-ish to me. I think I remember reading something Dhani said about george playing it on Lucy, but he could’ve been mistaken too.
My dad has been obsessed with this song for a while now. I can't wait to show him this! I'm sure it'll gain him an even bigger appreciation for it and for you!
great cover! you play the lead in a very George style here. Maybe Clapton's attack was a bit different. pretty sure I read somewhere that George coached Eric on the lead lines, specifically some of the bends. Where's the best place to access the session notes you're referring to..?
All Things Must Pass Away: Harrison, Clapton, and Other Assorted Love Songs This book has all the session notes from Mal Evans. Not 100% how accurate it all is though
Clapton definitely channeled George here. It’s confirmed by multiple historians and even george himself that Eric played lead. A lot of people think he was copying George’s style on Something
Hey Sam I was watching this cover again while I was playing on my guitar and I was wondering which chords you use in the D major section. I learned I‘d Have You Anytime like everyone else does on TH-cam with D major, C over D, B over D and A# over D. But in this cover it seems like you use Csus2 but other two, I can’t figure them out. Can you give me those chords please 😂
No idea this was Clapton on this track. Amazing.
The chord progression is magical The lead guitar 🎸 is perfect
Incredible Clapton guitar solo
wow is Clapton? 😊
this has to be the BEST cover ever made of all time dude holy crap
The perfect opening song for “All Things Must Pass”. Excellent job.😎🎸☮️👏

Amazing cover! You honestly nailed it!
Absolutely fantastic 😊❤
Just reminds me of what a treasure All Things Must Pass is…

muito bem dito
It must be an absolute joy to play that Strat. Such a nice snuggly warm tone, I know that George is listening.
Delightful lead from Clapton on this one. Awesome as always :)
This might be my favorite video of yours. ATMP has always been a Top 3 favorite album for me, and I think at this point it's in the Top 2, tied with whatever Beatle album is on my mind at any given time. Very well done!
I feel the same with ATMP. Thanks Stu 🕉️
very good and accurate !!!
good lord i am astounded at how good this is
I just started learning this song yesterday and here you are covering it perfectly. Great job as always Sam

The song I waited for so long but in the end it was worth the wait because the result is such a great and beautiful cover. Pure perfection. Thank you Sam 🙌🏼
Wow! Sounds just like the recording! Amazing cover as always Sam!
Great guitar from George, well played, thanks!
Oh, my. Absolutely beautiful. Your performances are wonderful. Thanks for making a hard day better.
You never fail... thanks for the videos. always a pleasure to listen
Ahh so beautiful! Now I can finally learn how to play this myself! Thank you so much!!🤩
There just aren't enough superlatives for your work, Sam! Brilliant reverse-engineering and spot-on performances.

Very nice playing my friend! Great sound! Keep it up!! 🎸🎶
Spot on. Subscribing. Excellent content
Welcome aboard!
The lead guitar is absolutely perfect. Beautiful acoustics too.
Simplemente increíble
Wow!! You friggin nailed that solo. Absolutely beautiful
Absolutely fantastic 😊❤
THAT TONE WOW
I'm running out of superlatives to use! Love this one!
Excellent rendition. More solo George (and John) please and thankyou!
Just a note in case anyone wants to check out his first two solo albums: All Things Must Pass is his third album without the Beatles.
Just awesome!
Yeeesssssss!!! Thank you so muuuuch!!! You make my day so goooood
I could not figure out how in the hell Clapton was getting all of those sounds in that recording. How did you figure out all of that? Its not in the tablature. Or I don’t understand how to read it? Anyway, that sounds great! Good job!
Thanks! I learned it all by ear. Tabs are cumbersome to make but I could do it for a small fee if someone really wanted them
What brand and gauge of strings are you using on the strat? They sound awesome! Great cover!
Ernie ball slinky 9 gauge. Thanks!
Paul and John are very overlooked in their Solo careers compared to Harrison. George is a very underrated solo musician, my favorite solo songs from all the 4 Beatles are mostly George's 😅
Amazing cover, where do you learn each part?
By ear!
OMGoodness! What an excellently rendition of another George’s greats!!! You nailed it with the utmost perfection!!! Love it! ❤ Thank you Sam for sharing! I can say no more🤗🥹🥲🤗
Thanks! ❤️
Great cover, I often find myself listening to your version of Awaiting on you all. So fun watching people play guitar on your favorite songs
That was a perfect rendition of a perfect song. Thank you!
The vibrato the last time through is so soulful, nice work
this right here is the meaning of perfection
amazing!
Very good!
Great cover and perfect tone as always. Interesting that all of the three Beatles, with their distinct styles, never really go for those mega-big bends
Hellz yeah! 🔥
Incredible performance.

Great question. George used a Maestro PS-1 phaser pedal
@@sampopkin Thanks man!!!
Simply PERFECT!
Am surprised the les paul wasn’t used in this song. But it makes sense it’s a strat. Those licks can be only be produced by strats

I should have noticed that there was a 12 string on the original
Always love too see a Sam popkin video
Can you please do a band cover of isn't it a pity? 🙏🏼
Beautiful. So much soul! I shouldn't be surprised at this point but DAMN you keep getting these perfect.
Hey Sam thanks so 😊 much for your cover. Great 👍 👌 job. Just what I was waiting for. You couldn't done better
George Harrison is my favourite . Thanks for covering this song sam!
I didn't think I needed a stratocaster until I heard this. Thank you for this great insight of the song !
perfect, you always deliver 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
O-written with Bob Dylan.
The gentle harmonies played by the guitar create a very comfortable atmosphere ♪ The sound of the 12-string guitar is also great ♪

It’s been confirmed that it was Eric by a lot of sources. Historians, session notes, but also from George himself
A gorgeous rendition of a gorgeous song.
Love it! Great sound out of both those acoustics
The 12 string makes such a beautiful addition. Great song George and great cover guys
Absolutely fantastic 😊❤
Absolutely fantastic 😊❤
You couldn’t get any closer to the original if you tried! Simply magical 💙🙏
My dad has been obsessed with this song for a while now. I can't wait to show him this! I'm sure it'll gain him an even bigger appreciation for it and for you!
Superb. 👌🏻
This is incredible

everything’s so well done and amazing how do you record and edit all this?
Thanks. I record with pro tools and edit with imovie
@@sampopkin if you mind me asking what pro tools and do you know a video of how to edit like this on imovie?
@@MrClean3019 check out my making of long and winding road video!
Nailed it!
Sounds (as usual) like the original.😍😳👍Before you’re getting back to Beatles, can you cover My Generation pls(without smashing your guitar)?😂😉😜
YOOO
your best cover so far!🤩Can you please tell what pedal you have used for this song?
Thanks! No pedals. Straight into my 1962 Fender Champ
First and you did a great job
Just Awesome!! 👏👏👏🎶🎵🎼🎸🎹😎
Chord changes are nice.
Beatful! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
what set of strings are you using on the strat
Ernie ball slinky 9 gauge rock and roll slinkys
Bom demais!!!
Awesome
Sounds great
Stratocaster sounds the same as the original recording 🙂🎶🎵🎸
Great playing, but also great choices.
Great!Nice!Well done,this song is magic!
You should do a Cover of You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away
I like how this song was an inspiration for the song Let Me Roll it
The best intro to an album of all time on one of the best albums of all time
Awesome Sam! Do you think there’s any chance that George was on lead guitar here? Or maybe EC was channeling George’s style here.

I used to think it was D Csus B/G Bb/G A
But confirmed listening to isolated tracks it’s D Csus2 G Gm A
@@sampopkin alright thank you
Spot on. Beautiful one, that song.
Yeahh!!! Impressive Sam..❤
In the description it’s says all four members of Badfinger on acoustic? Even Mike Gibbins the drummer on acoustic? Also great cover.
That’s what the session notes say, yes. But as I said in my description, I can only hear two distinguishable acoustics so idk if that’s true
