5 years later but im watching this for the second time. Love it. Im in love with kanken for so long and finally get it. Im really into what's in my bag videos lately. Love the atmosphere of this video. But wanna know why like button does not work
A pocket knife is a great item. A tiny first aid kit, a compass, a collapsible water bottle, micro water filter, headlamp, space blanket, lighter/matches, chapstick, and repellant/sunscreen are my must haves.
Hola Chelsea, it's Ciro. Being a former member of a Search and Rescue Team, there is a very long survival list of items but just to name a few, a Mirror, Medical Kit, Satellite Phone (cell phones don't always work), Snake Bite kit, a walking stick, cotton balls covered with vaseoline as fire starters kept in a zip lock bag, glow sticks, and finally water purification tablets.
Tip 4 your headache situation: Drink plenty of water BEFORE ascending into higher elevations like the Rockies & such. Also the slower u ascend the better, it will give your body a chance to acclimate & help prevent altitude sickness as well. Aspirin won't generally help after symptoms have set in. Quickly descending is the quickest cure ; )
Hi Chelsea, just watched a few of your videos .... good stuff. Like so many, I can appreciate your struggle with anxiety. Don't be so hard on yourself, we all have our own cross to bear.
Chelsea, chapstik is good to have, some type of dryer lint or cotton and a lighter in case you need to start a fire and a space blanket which is very flat and light in case you get cold and don't have a coat or you can use it for cover in a rain storm and a loud whistle in case you need someone to find you if lost. These are all small and easy to store. You're doing great and I hope you are having a blast! Take care sweetie.
I love this! We have definitely have the same style! I'm grateful that you decided to link everything! I'm in love with that backpack itself and wanted to say that you made a wise choice on the color as well, it is easy to find the bag and see you when you're hiking! 😀
You need to get a solar power portable charger! It's the best because if it dies or you forget to charge it you can still use it! Just plug your phone in and walk around with it while your hiking and it will charge its self. I'm bad at remember to charge my phone let alone the portable charger so the new solar power portable charged is amazing! You can still charge it like regular portable chargers but if u forgot to charge it or used it up then just being. Outside will charge it and your phone at the same time!
Love the EDC (every day carry) tips! Glad that you carry a knife Chels, but you should add pepper spray & a good flashlight and/or headlamp. Aren't those mini chargers great? I have an Anker and its bailed me out numerous times.
Maybe include a first aid kit, rain poncho and a mini roll of camping toilet paper. I love the stuff Fjallraven sells. I have a pair of their two-toned hiking pants. Their products are pretty expensive but good quality. Keep up the great work Chelsea. You're killin' it out there :-)
good to have things in case , i bring bear sprat if im going neer bear country and some very light first aid ( more like plasters and a couple 4x4 witn eleasto tape with those little tiny wipes with desinfectant ) just in case , Have a safe great time young lady
Great tips and video as usual! I can't possibly agree more on the battery pack. I tend to be a very pragmatic gift giver and if a friend or loved one doesn't have one that's always what I consider the most necessary. I also agree on the first aid kits. I work at a hospital so I build my own but a basic one is probably next to nothing to buy.
Can you explain your travel buddy system or let me know if you talked about it in a different video? Your travel buddy is not somebody you previously knew right? Do you share the camper or is he in his own setup traveling with you? Thanks! Keep of the videos! So much fun to watch!
Just adding to the suggestions. Since you usually don't get too far away and wanting to keep it light, Maybe adding a signaling mirror, a small LED flash light with S.O.S. and strobe mode. An emergency whistle, a pull away key chain alarm siren (Which can be kept with you all the time.) and a Glock 19 or 26 with an extra clip. ;) Robocopp Grenade Ultra Compact Siren th-cam.com/video/oek3tep0ciE/w-d-xo.html On Amazon- www.amazon.com/stores/node/17031322011?_encoding=UTF8&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=B%20A%20S%20U&ref_=bl_dp_s_web_17031322011
Do you have any advise on how an average looking guy can find a female travel buddy ? Also I have a fear of stepping out of my comfort zone and traveling full-time like you do. Can you make a video and tell us how you got the courage to just go for it ? Did you start alone or wait for a travel buddy ?
Holy Crap... I totally didn't expect a reply and got one in less than 2 minutes, that's awesome. Thank Hobo Ahle for me being a new subscriber to your channel. Good luck! Hope you have an amazing time...and hope you make millions of amazing memories. I am looking forward to hearing the stories of your wonderful journey. : )
Your interview with Hobo Ahle was absolutely amazing to say the least. You are absolutely brilliant and you're a Storm Trooper!!!! I am saving up for a Class A RV that is going to be converted into a mobile work space. I like to be mobile, save money and bring my recording studio with me 😊 Also once my www.VolumeMob.com platform is up and running (it's a music catalog platform) I'm going to give you a package of royalty free music to use in your videos and if you come too LA I am offering to score music to one of your videos for free. You bring a lot of hope to other women and men. You inspire people to venture out and discover themselves and our great nation! Best, Brainz Volume Mob
Consider some pepper spray or small bear repellent. Never know if some small rodent , animal or bear will cross your path. And or some bad human . Good job
I found this really interesting! Thanks so much for uploading and sharing these tips :) I love watching these videos for advice, as I am just starting my DN journey and really need to learn how to confine my possessions and take even less with me... It's SO hard! I just uploaded a 3 month Digital Nomad video and would love your feedback! :) Keep up the amazing vlogs!! I just subbed! :)
It’s kinda sad for me a as a Swedish person that people do not care about the actual brand and history behind Fjallraven and just kind of skip telling anything about the brand😔🤷♀️

+John Davis those are great! My backpack isn't a survival bag by any means. If I were going on longer hikes I would bring those things!

Hey CV!
Being older gypsies, we'd suggest a small flashlight/headlamp, and a few more "food bars", (6 or so) just in case.
+Tong Ma Sy i keep those in my camper but will definitely throw them in my bag if I go on a long hike!
Chelsea Vicari
Good Luck CV!
