@@krixzby695 good question. your college will probs provide you with some, also depends on what you wanna do at uni + at end of year 1 college there is a work experience week
@@krixzby695 defo, like i said in the video there is much more free time so if anything you acc have more time to go to the gym imo - especially first year. i managed to go around 3 times a week for most of college
Thanks for this realistic review ! I'm pretty nervous fo A-Levels and I've been struggling to decide which school to choose - one requires much higher grade boundaries but is a lot farther and generlaly out of my comfort zone, whereas the other is more supportive ig . Ik loads of people struggle with this but im still terrified if I pick the wrong choice, dont worry y'all you're not the only ones 😭😭.
thanks sophie 🙏i'm trying to make it more consistent if you look at my last video that's perfect lighting imo but i can never get it the same bc of the window so my videos look a bit inconsistent i think in terms of that
Thank god, i kept seeing people being so negatuvr about A-Levels but you saying they're doable and intresting, i feel a little better :D. Ill likely do two or triple essay subjects so wish me luck haha
@@imintoomanyfandoms114 they’re definitely difficult for sure, that’s why i’m saying it’s important to do work from the start (hence my crash course), but if you like the subjects yeah it’s really fun tbf
Well done for your results Henry! We are all proud of your grades, and make sure you keep up updated on your remark, you deserve those 3 A*s,. Are you planning to go to Uni? If so to study what?
hi henry! in your crash course, are you going to include anything subject specific or will that be in a future video? i'm also doing politics and history and the advice from you would be greatly appreciated bc of your grades, which is what im aiming for!!
hiya, i will include some subject specific yeah - but will be videos on those subjects too. i’ll talk more about general advice and skills which can apply to all subjects
Hello Henry May I please ask what happens if you don't meet the requirements of the college , will you be alve to retake in November and after you get the result and pass will you be accepted please tell me .please reply Henry thank you?
depends how much you miss them by ig. tbh tho for most colleges they will let you in anyway. my little sister got 5s and needed 6s to do certain subjects but the college let them in anyway. just talk to the college and explain is my best advice
@@HenryBrandRevision I mean like let's say you get 3s and you need 4s to get in so if they put you in a foundation year does it mean you will be left out whilst your friends do better than you
@@Tylertk132 it depends, if the college is quite strict more academic, I don't provide anything else than A-level then they wouldn't let u in like my friend got a 6-5 but need a 6-6 to do A-level Biology but they would let her in, but my other friend who want to go to a sixth form college she fell English Lag but they still allowed her in, but she had to chose another course and she get to resit it in college, so it very depend on the college, but still ask as they may still let u in
For A level maths do you just use the CGP revision guide or do you have all 4 of the big pearson books for each year pure and then mechanics and statistics
Thanks mahn Actually, i went for a pre programme on the college which i would like to study in the future, and I was excited that everyone is making a lot of friends within few minutes while i am struggling to talk😂it was boring and was nice at the same time
hiya, i would recommend starting this property around gcse results day. i’ll do a video on how to prepare for a-levels around the 15th august too. if you wanted to start earlier, that would be good too tho ofc
Henry really appreciate what your doing. Was just wondering is there any chance you could make a video on what to do during the summer of y10 to make it as efficient as possible. I understand your main focus is on students who have recently finished your GCSEs so no worries if you are unable to do so.
When u say college does that involve sixth form as well? Cause when i went to taster days all sixth forms said we had to stay in school for 6 hours (especially in the first year) but we had 3 hours learning and 3 hours 'revision time'.
college and sixth form are basically the same, but sixth form is attached to a secondary school is my understanding (i may be wrong). it does chance depending on the college/sixth form - but there is defo more independent learning time
Heyyy, basically for my A levels in sixth-form i chose ICT lvl 3 cambridge qualification, businesses studies and psychology. I had a taster day and the students in my ICT class have all done ICT gcse or cs gcse. I am quite worried thay i'd be behind everyone in September. Will they teach everything from the start or idk?
hi, that’s a good question. i think you will defo be a bit behind - but they should catch you up for sure. if CS or ICT wasn’t a requirement for that course at your college then they can’t expect you to know that
the if studies bit means it probably isn’t necessary. i imagine you would be a little behind, maybe try emailing the teacher/college and asking if there is any extra work you could do over summer?
How do i pick subjects when i don't know what i want to be and my parents dont want me to do IB?...also what do you do when you lost hope in terms of improving your grades whe doing igcses and now are going to a-levels?
Hey Henry, i want to become an engineer in the future and plan on picking: 'engineering diploma' at my sixth form ( worth two A levels). I have to choose one more A level and i am stuck between business or maths. im predicted a 7 in gcse maths but am unsure which a level is best for me. Having done a level maths, what do you recommend? Thx
Don’t do business, it’s a pointless a-level. You need to pick whether you’d like to go to uni or not after college, if you’d like an apprenticeship you’d need to look into what they require (I assume maths) and if you’d like to go to Uni, it’s highly likely they’d also like physics as well.
ngl i slightly disagree with evie. be careful taking A-level maths with only a grade 7 because it is really difficult. people i know who got 7s really struggled to get past a C in A-level maths, it really is difficult. On the other hand tho, maths is definitely a better a-level so if you could do well at that it’s probs worth it. business isn’t pointless either it’s not the worst a-level and lots of people do it imo. maths is almost certainly better for engineering as well
@@HenryBrandRevision Well I do agree your “prospectus” is poor if you get a 7 and below usually a C/D grade a B if your lucky very rarely higher, but my school has the entry req set at a 7 for a-level maths and let people in with 6s. I know people who got A in the AS mock with a 6 at GCSE and people who are clutching at straws with 7/8/9. I don’t think it’s a particularly hard a-level especially in year 12 considering the majority of the content is either 8/9 GCSE or further maths GCSE (bar stats and mechanics). Obvs much harder in comparison in year 13 but providing they did well in year 12 it’s not ground breaking stuff. I think Maths a-level is very dependent that if you come in with a poor grade, if you work hard enough fix your learning/revision techniques and work consistently throughout the entire year you will get a good result. The issue is the people who come in with a bad grade and poor understanding of the content then proceed to doss about for a month or however long so they don’t end up fixing the things they didn’t understand at GCSE, so are now left behind and cannot access the new content and there’s not much room for catching up.
@@evieiscool555 yeah that's very true, you'd need to get up to a 9 level in maths fast. it is dooable for sure and if you can do maths thats defo better than business. I think it's a very hard A-level to get an A* in, but not too hard to get an A in.
Alr thanks. I've checked out a couple degree apprenticeships for engineering and some of them just require the btec in engineering and any other a level so it isn't absolutely necessary for me to pick maths but I will consider it. I guess I will make up my mind on results day cos I gotta get the 7 in maths first
