To summarise: - find your weak points, and the subjects most important to you - focus on improving these (use seneca, youtube, practice questions and flashcards) - memorise these. use flashcards and spaced repetition Hope that helps! Hi Henry! I am so grateful to you for this honestly. I have a question. Do you mind sharing (if you have any) of your revision timetables and any tips on how to go about doing it because I have done it on excel but it isn’t great and I don’t stick to it cos I do too much and it is organised really bad and not specifically which topics to do? Sorry it’s a lot to ask for, no worries if you don’t want to. Just so grateful for you posting this ❤
You said Seneca won't be enough for the high grades. As someone aiming of all 9s what should I do after Seneca to make sure I'm at the grade 9 level for all subjects?
Hello Henry. I have a question. At the moment I’m using cgp revision guides to make my flashcards for biology, chemistry and physics but I’m not sure if that’s the right way to go about it. How and what did you use to make flashcards and how many did you have per chapter (E. G the periodic table)?
I am not Henry, but I got straight 9s at GCSE, and currently I'm in Y13 with A*s in A-Level biology and chemistry. Use the specification to find specific definitions you need to know -- lots of that in biology. Use physicsandmathstutor mark schemes to create flashcards on the rest of the content. Use Anki, at GCSE, I only started revising science during the Easter holidays and that was enough time for the spatial repetition to work, but if you start right now, even better. Watch tutorials on how Anki works if you get confused, it is honestly the most useful thing you can do for biology and chemistry, less so physics. Freesciencelessons is the best place to go for content that is too vague on the specification itself. Don't bother with revision guides, they waffle too much. Freesciencelessons is so good because he expands on the specification, without saying anymore than you need to know.
No, I have an iPad Air (since its compulsory for my school since year 7) and even though it is amazing, I still would not say its worth it. Any device like a laptop would be fine. If you are trying to use the iPad to solve questions I suggest that its better to just print out the test (double sided on paper) and solve it there. This way it would be cheaper and actually gets you into the exam mood. An iPad is very useful but can also be very addicting and you don't want to be adding another battle to fight in the middle of your crucial revision. Overall you don't need an iPad unless you really really want one, if so just be careful and make sure its actually for revision :). Good luck!
Hello Henry, I’m mostly grade 8s right now with a couple grade nine’s and one five, do you think it would be possible to get all nine’s and if so how could I do this? Because no matter how I try I feel like in each test I can never move past an 8. Thank you
