Certified painter here with 24 years in the field. Sometimes I think, hey man, don't tell all of our secrets, people won't call painters anymore if they learn how to paint. Don't ruin the business :D Great tips. Small details matter to make the job easier and faster. I appreciate the video, and I know that it takes years to master some of the techniques in painting so we should still get phone calls for work :D

Great tips. I’ve always wondered what the deal was with the spray hose whip. I’ve got to try the cup holder for the brush and bucket. Nothing more maddening than dropping the brush in the bucket. Thanks Chris!

I've been using hooks on my brushes for a couple years now, I also bend them out just a little to keep the bristles from bending in the bucket. It also is helpful to allow the brush to drip dry before putting it away in the sleeve.

Chris, still using your videos as a primary video training tool for our painting class for our Facilities Maintenance Technician Training Program. Tell Graco that based in large part to your videos we purchases a Graco Magnum Pro X19. It just came in. I have the class building two simulated training walls on castors so we can move them around. I'll also be using the brown paper rolls for paining practice so we don't have to wait for paint to dry between student attempts. The wall simulators will also let me teach patching, plumbing, and basic electrical maintenance techniques all using the same simulator. I would ask that you use more PPE. I know you've been doing this a long time but good safety is still good safety and I want my people to practice appropriate safety practices. Keep up the good work.

Can you recommend a particular brush for me? My situation is that I am painting a flipper house for my dad and while I’ve done some painting in my life I’m not great at ceiling edging and my brush is so stiff and crappy that it hurts my hand to edge with it. I’m wondering if a softer bristle brush could help me not to have to much hand fatigue..? Or maybe the brush I saw you mention in another video that has a flexible handle that allows you to bend it..?

You have mentioned before that it is best to paint ceilings flat. When using the corner roller to take care of cut ins on the ceiling, do you go back and cut in the walls with the satin/semigloss/etc? Or do you just get close and call it good if it is the same color?
