Thank you so much, you're definitely pro and have great craftsmanship, I've been painting 22 years myself and have luckily got to be mentored by excellent painter's, most of them have retired or moved on, I actually learned the dust pan technique from a lady painter who was phenomenal, usually carry two maskers around with me and especially if I'm doing millwork, I have one masker with quick release tape and my second masker I have just blond tape, of course I use the quick release on walls and ceilings and then I can use the other masker on top of the paper without worrying about ripping texture off and drywall, Lord knows I've had to do unnecessary repairs many times. I also don't pre-tape, I was taught how to run a straight line and I pre-tape tape on top if its crooked or up in corners, I make sure it's not stair stepped because you'll see the millage build up, I make sure it's lined up with my masking, you pull your masking in the end and it lift's the tape at the same time, you're unmasking once , not twice. Thank you so much for everything you do for us. Sincerely Lorenzo gig harbor WA.
I love the homemade dustpan tip. We always clean up after we paint inside a customer's home. I can't tell you how many times I couldn't find a dustpan.
Been watching you a while now and really enjoy your channel, AND . . . really enjoy what I'm learning from you! Thank you for what you do and mostly your enthusiasm and pride in your craftmanship of work! You work so clean, consistently, organized, efficient and such a perfectionist . . . definitely what I call "the" PRO! I'm inspired by everything you share so happily! Just turned 60 yrs. old (my profile photo is 17 years younger now), but I'm still heavily doing DIY projects and soon to be doing my first ever repairs and painting on my 23 yr. old 2-story home exterior. I know I've got quite the monstrous project to tackle, but I know I can do it! Your TIPS are definitely very much appreciated my friend. I'm a petite lady, but strong as a mule still, and definitely have the tools, and better than average know-how to tackle any projects I'm willing to learn . . . not the average female for sure. As an artist and multimedia business woman, I not only enjoy your athleticism in your work -- because that is what it truly is, . . . but you also have such a sincere character about you that comes through on camera! ;-) I sure enjoy problem solving and building things too, and really enjoy restoration and preservation of things - - including recycling & repurposing. I have a great appreciation for SKILLS when I see it. ;-) Continued blessings and success in what you do, because it does make a difference to even someone like me who you may never even meet. YOU'RE AWESOME FRIEND!
You could use 14” paper on the fan blades and tape it to itself, full wrap around. Then u don’t have to worry about pulling paint off the fan, or using green tape.
Diaper or nappy bags are great for spot lights on ceilings before spraying. Pop them down ,pop them in, can be used on sockets and plugs to. Cheap and handy.
Very useful tips. I’ve been doing all the ones you mentioned and more for many years now. I love watching your videos. Keep up the good work. God bless you guys
Chris!! I’ve been watching you for four or five years now and you’ve taught me almost everything I know on how to paint houses. I’ve watched every tip and trick you have. This week I sprayed my first set of cabinets. I taped everything off properly and all of the yellow frog tape came off the walls. I don’t think I’m gonna use that anymore. And even the blue tape that I used on my masking machine, came off once I sprayed the first coat of paint. Has this ever happened to you or did I do something wrong? I mean it didn’t all come off but random spots that I taped came up once it was wet. Help!!
Hi . I am from Algeria 🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿 . Although I do not understand English. However, I understand your explanation very well. Because it is a simple and understandable explanation
Dollar Tree clear zip lock bag for screws and hooks. 50 in a box for one dollar. Dollar Tree garbage bags for 18 inch roller tray. Roll right up and throw away rather than cleaning Roller pan. Store bags for can lighting, pull down light cover with bag and push back into the ceiling!
Excellent tips! Thanks for sharing those. I especially appreciated the last tip and making small bags for screws, etc. That was brilliant!! How about doing a video on all painting tools and what to use them for??
That accent 😄 love it! “Right thereee” “fast” love to hear you say those words 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Ok so I’ve watched your videos for 2 weeks and YIKES! I’m going to roll my ceilings and cut its MYSELF! A woman 👩🏽🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brother man I absolutely love your videos :-) they are so freaking well done :-) thank you so much I'm a contractor small business owner and have projects going right now and I love the refresher course on so many different things that you cover so well done thank you again keep up the good work I'm going to try and find some of your recent videos cuz all the videos I can find are from like 5 years ago or something like that🙂 Peace out SJ
I've used the dust collection method But the paper bag was nice. Out of the 20+ years of Painting with my uncles that's the only one I've not seen ! I'm starting my own company [Nxt Generation Taylor Painting]™️ I bid on a 2345 sq ft home and after that was asked to go another from a GC, I've been praying I can hook up with his company and become his painter but anyway, great Channel and a awesome guy It's always worth it to get tips from a fellow painter. Thanks Chris and the PaintLife Crew. God bless
Question Chris, I was on a job about 4 months ago .And mind u I've been painting for 27 years anyways my boss wanted me to use blue tape for door hinges , so I did that u know as well as I do when u do that and people keep coming in and out the tape will squash up and pull . I told him to check before spraying well he didn't and got paint on hinge . Of course he fired me. I was like y didn't u take door off. He's one that's in a hurry with everything . So in future please do a vid on the different kinds of tape if I were gonna do it that way I would have used orange tape not as thick and sticks better. I've been following u and John for a minute u guys have made me wanna go out on my own. I'm afraid to bid jobs though.
They make magnetic hinge coves ,, and thet are a life saver and I rubber that goes around the hinge pin not the crap from Sherwin Williams. You will save 75% of time and u keep using them
Truly appreciate your clips and tips, I’m totally new to the trade I just picked up my very first kit, graco ultra 490 XT used obviously with a titan RX pro gun, I would truly appreciate some shirts or hats any used items your about to toss out I have some side jobs for relatives just to get my name out and I’m trying to rock some legit gear of the pros, I’m happy with hand me downs, much love and respect! God Bless!
Hey paint life tv how does trick no 2 work if u tack the tape to the wall and spray the wall won’t it leave a stripe and also wouldn’t it throw the paper up when u go to spray under the rail? Am I missing something or wouldn’t that be a situation where it’s best to take the handrail off the wall?
Dude thank you for the reviews for tapes. My god I had to get the frog after the blue tape try. Frog tape does come off easy and in long piece and does a crisp perfect line. Thank you
Off topic question: Although I haven't tried it yet, could I mix a little wall paint into my spackling/ wallboard compound for filling in holes? Btw, awesome hacks. Love your channel! ✌😎
Hey Chris I seen your video when you and your guy painted a pool slideI have a pool slide to paint but I do not want to spray and epoxy of course I'm going to use an xim primer

Have a hack? Let us know?
Tape surgical tubing at the end of your caulk gun to squeeze out the material into hard to reach corners, etc.
I been in the business 35 yrs and still learned something from this video. Thanks bud.
John cena?😂😂😂
@@gregoprocuna6756 But can John Cena paint? 🤔
If I was going to mask the face of an ugly chick before sex , should I use blue safe release tape or orange tape ?

Brilliant with #2. The dust collection for a hole. Right on.
That paper releasing sound is so addictive
LOLOL Watch The Langoliers movie 1995 there's a guy that loves ripping paper in it.
For a second I thought this was John cena lol
Lol
you can clearly see a person standing there, so it couldn't be John Cena
LMAO
Omg bruh u so right📯😂😂
Looked like Steve Austin or John Cena in the thumbnail 🤣🤣🤣
I love the homemade dustpan tip. We always clean up after we paint inside a customer's home. I can't tell you how many times I couldn't find a dustpan.

I wrap my sandwich’s in 9” with frog tape. No I’m not joking. It works and it’s cheaper that sandwich bags or plastic wrap
😂 bro that’s funny! I might try it.

Genuine question.. why only worry about the handrail or fan blades? If that's a concern, wouldn't the floor and wall be a concern also?

You are the best painter & talent 100% but if you are from Uk i wanted to learn by you
No need to waste the tape when you’re stuffing can lights
I have had them fall out while I’m spraying ceilings I do the tape sticky side up
actually not, you're just simply not grabbing enough paper
Do you paint only residential, or do you paint commercial too?
You guys are great painters 👍

Where do you get the masking paper with tape and tape gun?
I have been painting for 20 years and never used frog. I use white tape or blue depending on application.

Do you remove the plastic guard over the aerated edge on the hand masker?
Just ordered 2 paint life shirt keep it up Maine!

This man has single handedly destroyed half the Amazon trees in paper 😉
Jjjj
Trees are a crop for consumption. Why do people not cry about all the Carrots, Lettucei and Potatoes killed and destroyed? 🥕 🥬 🥔 😿
@@catlady8324 Well at least he is using recycled paper, because that's what it is.
