I love how his gear indicator desyncs and then gets stuck in "R" at around 0:23, and then just stays in R for most of the run This proves that "R" is actually for Race Mode!
This car handles like a go-kart! 1:07 The tail is coming out before the hairpin then it quickly rotates the other way into the hairpin. Beautiful driving.
That looks such a well developed machine, enough power to upset the balance of the chassis in low speed corners, not too much to make it frustrating in the higher gears. Perfect 👌
is this one a different x1/9 from the other blue one? i hope it is. i wanna see more of these on here i freaking LOVE them so much, i even looked up how hard it would be to import one, but honestly its sorta hard and well beyond the price i want to pay to play. so looks like something domestic it is!
What I find so endearing about Christian Darani's Fiat X1/9 is that he has taken a rather maligned (at least here in the U.S.A.) budget sports car that in stock form out of the crate was riddled with all manner of quirks and transformed in to a beautiful purpose-built tenacious hill climb machine! AND, Christian wrings it out to it's limit! Makes me think of Steve Morris (Steve Morris Engines) here in the U.S.A. and his purpose-built 3,500lb. (1,587kg.) Buick Roadmaster Station Waggon powered by his own 5,500hp Billet Aluminum Twin-Turbo V-8 (engineered and manufactured by Steve Morris himself) hurtling along the 1/4-mile drag strip tripping the lights at 240mph+ ~ 250mph+ in the low-6 second range (this season, with some new upgrades on his Waggon, Steve is reaching for the 5s). Already the fastest "street legal drag n' drive" car in the World, Steve is upping the bar. I LOVE seeing these rather obscure cars turned in to formidable racing machines!
You might be interested in the search results for 'list of cars by dallara' I don't know if Darani's car is an original Dallara Icsunonove. There is a bike engine build by Polini Racing for Davide Cironi here on TH-cam also at least 2 other cars with D2 engines eg Mauel Dondi, Gianluca Ticci. You maybe know cars like the Audi IMSA or Alfa 156V6, both were DTM championship winners but before DTM the Alfa 155D2 was competitive. The works D2 motors had Hewland or X-Trac sequential boxes and can make 375bhp. It's basically the final iteration of the Lampredi twin cam, something like a Delta Integrale motor but naturally aspirated with an Alfa 16V head instead of a Fiat/Lancia 16V head.
It´s possible, but we never got the full confirmation from the driver. Our bet is that is that it is using a LAmpredi block, but mixed with some more exotic Engine Head (possibly motorbike).
@@HillClimbMonsters if the stats are correct - 280 rwhp NA 2-litre - then factoring 25% transmission loss, equals 350bhp. probably a Fiat/Lancia/Alfa (Lampredi) iron block/ alloy head DOHC 16V eg Lancia Thema/Delta/Fiat Stilo/Croma/ Alfa Romeo 155
Ça roule vraiment bien 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻, par contre il ne faut pas débrailler pour monter les rapports avec une boîte séquentielle. La coupure est réglée pour ça.
in my honest opinion you wont be able to fully appreciate this car until you get to see a x1/9 in person, its so small and cute like the porsche 914 with the same unaerodynamic but low profile notchback design, if i ever make a race car im going to consider getting a x1/9 if i can fit my tall body into it (which is unlikely lol)
He has very intimate knowledge of that machine...he accurately predicted the chassis behavior on every entry and exit.
So much clutch kicking too lol knows exactly when he doesn’t have the grunt he needs.

Super glueing the pedal to the metal really works for this guy. Some Rocketship mate!
Very spicy and awesome X1/9 and driver is in tune with it and car does exactly what Christian wants. What a team.

He certainly is at one with his machine.
Muscle memory, skill whatever u want to call it he has it ✌️🇬🇧
Such a cool car, even the stock version
WOW, FANTASTIC CAR CONTROL AND HOT ENGINE !
This sounds like a K20...I love it
Sweet little car. I miss mine , back in the late 70s. Incredible driving skills.
That's some serious pedalling!
The POV amazing 👍
That thing just loves to have its tail out, doesn't it?
The European hillclimb scene kicks so much ass.
Same for US hillclimb racing i love some of those open cars:)
Ford open is juts too fun!
Yep, been watching them a while now. It blows me away I had a friend who use to own one of those. It wasn't anything like that I can tell you.
@@joe125ful Still behind these X1/9s.
@@hillclimbracingfan5821 Not for me...i just love stuff that most ppls dont like:)
This is why i mention Ford open.

yes it is.
The blue one is 320hp for 680kgs.
@@vainxler Not to mention they look different from each other.
Between one of these bad boys, or a triumph TR7 woth the V8, I'm not sure which to buy! Maybe both?
what a blast!
Proper Screamer!!

Hello, I'm from Switzerland. I see this car regularly. The engine looks like a VW engine but I'm not sure
I really love the X1/9
Corners like Scalextric.
Luv and Peace.
Man I wish I had the balls to drive mine as hard as this! 😍
excellent!

euh, pas toujours. Le choix est toujours disponible. Certaines séquentielles à bas prix ne sont pas conçu pour passer à la volée.
Vu le niveau du mec, de la caisse et de la course, à mon avis, il sait ce qu'il fait ^^ !
👏👏👏👏
2:55-3:05. Wow.
Mi piacerebbe vedere il confronto con Dondi.......
Only 9,000rpm? The Abarth 1290cc engine was good for 12,500 and redline 14,000. Isn’t there another video of this car crashing?
Is this the blue Alfa powered X1/9 with a new paint job?
Nope
So which came first... the this or the Porsche 914??
Alfa 156 S2000 engine?
