Did a food crawl of of the best batchoy places in Iloilo and practically did the same route, we also all agreed that Deco's is the best. It is elevated not just by the ginamos but the savory flavor of the bone marrow that's used as a topping. Fun fact, when eating batchoy - it's always paired with the puto (sweet steamed rice cakes) to balance out the salty flavor. Glad you enjoyed your food (mis)adventures from my home province.

We were taught in our family to start with the broth first. Then ones you've finished the broth we would ask for more caldo (broth) then we would eat the noodles with the second batch of caldo.

Yes! As an ilonggo, i agree, Decos for the win… when i was younger i used to love Teds, but the taste has changed, i agree that Teds now has an OK taste nlng 🍲

i spent a week in iloilo back in june. ang dami kong nakain na batchoy hahahaha. i ate batchoy at least twice a day. and i visited all the ones in the video. i had an amazing time.

Yes, our Family are pure Ilonggo, & when we crave for Batchoy, we always go for Deco's.. Tamang-tama lang ang timpla nila and mabubusog ka talaga, but in fairness all of the Batchoy's featured here are the to go to by the Ilonggos & visitors coming to visit Iloilo, all of them are truly Ilonggo food cultural heritage way back our great grandfathers era. A pinoy pride not only to our City & Country but to the whole world as well..

I love this content! I love batchoy and I live here in Cebu. We are most commonly known for our lechon but for me I always love to eat batchoy than lechon. Eating it reminds me of smoothness of the broth and especially when I have a cold I would love to eat it as a comfort food!

I haven't tried the new popoy's branch in robinson where you ate but the Popoy's in Central Market for me is the best. I've tried all them Deco's, alicia, netongs, teds, batchoy in sta barbara and other places in western visayas that includes guimaras and negros. But Popoy's batchoy in central market hits the spot for me.

These are the 5 most FAMOUS batchoy spots, but not the BEST. You have to try Doming’s AKA Boy Batchoy in Jaro Small Market. You have to be there around 10am because they sell out fast!!!

Why is this type of Ph dish not as regarded or celebrated as its counterpart in other Asian cuisines such as Ramen? Does the quality of ingredients in the Philippines affect this or is it due to our developing/3rd world country status? What makes VIet Pho well-loved by foreigners while Kinalas is considered one of the worst foods in the world.
