  • Before you move to Japan to be a software developer, listen to this story. I will share how I changed directions as a student and forged my path to being a software engineer in Japan.
    I studied computer science and Japanese language in university but you don't need to have done the same. You don't need Japanese to work in Japan, learn more here:

    Currently my status is while I'm not a digital nomad, my day to day has been partially remote. Work Life balance in Japan is pretty good contrary to popular belief. If you don't want to take the leap, get some remote work and then move to Japan on a work holiday visa. There are a lot of remote jobs in countries like the US where they allow you to work from anywhere. Try to use those to make it easier on yourself moving to Japan.

      Visas are currently on hold, however companies can hire you and you can work remotely until VISA's are processed. I believe only the big companies are doing this right now. Could be wrong. Just apply and see. I expect it to be a few months at least before people can immigrate here again.

    How is work-life balance in Start up company in Japan ?

    • @DevinJapan
      @DevinJapan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me it was good. If you work in a startup you best believe in the product. If you do then you will probably end up working long hours just because you believe in what you are doing and it's fun. It's not like working for a large corporation. IMO if a large corporation has bad work life balance there is nothing good to counter that. At least you need to feel like your work is making a large impact in the company.
      I rarely work overtime and always look for companies that support remote work and flexible working hours.
