    The channel is great man. I'm 1.5 years out of uni (in the UK) working in machine learning. I've done an internship in Japan previously, and longed to go back ever since. I think it's possible now but would be easier and would get a better job there if I waited to gain another 1-2 years experience.

      @@DevinJapan Another thing I think could be the positive point in Japan is the convenient. Damn, I miss that you can walk 5 minutes and have everything you need at anytime of the day. Here they close the shops at 9 Pm, and restaurants at 10 PM and everything is completely close in Sunday.

    Hi Mustafa, I really enjoy your content and it taught me things I never knew about Japan before. Im currently in 3rd year CS ( Also from canada like you ) , and i plan on learning Japanese and getting internships. My question is , did you feel homesick when you left Canada because thats my biggest worry since my whole family is here.

    • @DevinJapan
      @DevinJapan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course I feel homesick now and again. I have my own family though. I recommend you find a company that gives good amount of paid vacation and just fly back yearly. Or alternate with your family visiting You here. I'm sure they would enjoy the experience. Cool stories to tell.

    Thanks for the videos, very informative and motivating. I'm currently living in Japan, studying to switch careers and become a web developer here. I hope to start applying for jobs in the next few months and its been great to get your insights on working and finding work here.
    Can I ask a random question or three? I'm a gamer like yourself and was thinking of getting a new keyboard (currently using UK layout keyboard), but should I get a Japanese keyboard to better familiarize myself for any future work? Also, how do jobs typically provide you with hardware when starting work? i.e. get handed a crusty old laptop/bring your own/ some level of choice?
    Thanks man

    Hi! I am considering moving to Japan when u graduate my cs degree in 2 years time in Singapore. Do you have any advice on what will be the process like in terms of job hunting, visa application etc?
    and also, what is it like working as a dev in Japan? do most foreign/non-foreign companies adopt Japanese culture like having to leave later than their boss etc?
    Love ur vids btw!

    Hey Mustafa, loving your videos! Really helps stem college students like myself come up with a career plan upon graduation to work in Japan. As I'm finishing up my 2nd year of my mechatronics degree now, I thought it would be prime time to start looking for internships. Do you have any experience or advice in that matter of finding an internship in Japan? I am currently located in Australia if that helps.

    • @DevinJapan
      @DevinJapan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. Firstly I'm glad you like the channel. :D Companies like Toyota, Daimler Trucks Asia, Nissan for automobile I know have international teams and hire interns. With current situation they might not be though. But later on for sure. I'm not too familiar with mechatronics related companies but in general I recommend you learn Japanese to N2 level at least for the most job opportunity. Generally outside of dev jobs, English is not that common.

    • @bumbasherbb
      @bumbasherbb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DevinJapan Yep, those were the companies I had a look at! Seems they have frozen hiring interns from overseas, but will probably start again after April 2021. I'm currently N2 level so hopefully something will work out!

    I love your videos! And I love Japan and I’m planning to move to Japan after my post graduation but I recently came across some news regarding Japan’s recession though I knew about it but now I don’t know how it will affect people who want to move to Japan long term like I’m currently doing my engineering and I’ll complete it by 2024 and masters in years after that so would Japan still be a good option then for working there, just curious like will the worsening economy give some problems obviously we can’t tell, but how is the situation of jobs and all there, and what is your speculation for it in the next 10 years or so.

      International companies work life balance is a lot better. Startups can be a good place and the big tech companies as well as some other companies might surprise you. • @DevinJapan
