@@devilmonkey427 Like GM they made this decision to trim production costs. I too would like the option for a 6 foot bed. Just makes it easier to haul. Also makes it a bit more stable for towing with the LWB. I'm glad the new Tacoma still offers a LWB. And it actually looks nicer then the short box. The problem with the F-150 is size. They are much wider and generally won't fit in a garage. And that is a must with all the meth heads breaking into cars these days.

Love it when companies willingly admit that they’re actively tracking data of their customers. Wonder when we’ll hear that Ford has been selling user data like GMC, Chevy, Kia, etc. insurance companies snapped that stuff up quick and jacked up people’s rates. Because even when data is “anonymized” there are so many other data points that companies can use to cross reference that they find you easily.

Stephen, With its widened bed, I think the new Ranger could be an excellent foundation for the return of the F-100. All Ford needs to do is shorten the cab and lengthen the bed to the
traditional 8 feet. Just like that customers would finally have the option of a simple, 'right-sized' pickup which has been missing from our market for so long. 😁

Maybe it's because they cannot afford the new base 122" regular cab, or maybe it is just too powerful and expensive to let employees drive, or fleet owners to rent. I really enjoyed watching Pena's passion and pride in the new Ranger. Love the truck. What I'm finding hard to accept is the explanation of the lack of configuration options for the north american market.
Other bed lengths and cab configurations are offered in other world markets. He mentioned simplicity with quality, but north american pickup sales are a formidable number and the choice should be given to consumers if they're already building these trucks for other markets . Thread after thread on the internet, and thousands of TH-cam videos are showing the same thing. People want choice. People want different bed and cab sizes for their work and play. It sounds more to me like
an excuse to keep things simple to make the most amount money over here, and to keep things simple and make as much money over there. GM is guilty of this too with their midsized pickups. In a world of choice and individuality, they've decided to force people into a one sized fits all vehicle. He said it himself..our incomes are higher than some other world markets. If that's true, and you can build this same truck with state of the art manufacturing plants, there should be no reason why you can't have them here too. It's B.S marketing and profit marginalizing.

Was disappointed that Ford brought this to North America but deleted features that the global version already had. Global Ranger has rear seat air and a bigger gas tank where the NA version replaced rear seat air with just a blank console and downsized the gas tank, sucks for those off the beaten path adventures. Also no vented seats option when every competitor except the Frontier offers vented seats.
Ford also missed the mark on not coming back with the Tremor as a mid-range off-roader like everyone else offers. Ford seemed to have only focused on "value" and "Raptor" which sucks because the previous Ranger was a solid truck in need of only a few tweaks, while this Ranger just kinda mailed it in when it came to effort.

Clear examples are when he is discussing the Cab/Bed Configurations in the USA and "Why" it's like that...and when he "somehow" digressed into talking about Factory Workers & Build Complexity & Quality - he catches himself and then gives the Factory Workers big accolades. Supposed to come this summer but with the way ford has handled things lately, it could possibly take longer.

It comes in the Summer just not Summer 2024. Maybe Summer 2025? I swear, it seems that since the pandemic Ford forgot how to build vehicles.

@cwqr… You are right. On the other hand, GM or GM suppliers (and my guess they are mostly the same as Ford’s) seem to be doing OK.

I was awaiting this launch for a long time, but during that wait I gave up on buying Fords (and I work for the company). This guy is doing a good job promoting his product, but buying anything these days that is so overpriced, you have to read the fine print! Whoever decided on driving the critcal compontent oil pump inside the engine submersed in hot engine oil with a rubber belt really needs a carreer evaluation. Anyone who buys this 2.7L needs to cut every oil filter thet spin off this engine and cut it open to inspect it for broken down belt material. So dumb, all to save a few bucks...

I dont know why you would want to get an update from an Engineer of the company -- everything will be cottan candy and rainbows!
But have to agree on the one size fits all approach and no diesel.
I wanted to upgrade my Mav to the Ranger but I had 4.49% interest with the Mav, the Ranger is 8.49%.
Chevy Calorado 5.56% and it has the 2.7 now and no wait for the 2.7 for the Ranger'.
    Cheers

Knowing this truck is world wide explains the unacceptable quality issues Americans are getting from ford these past decades. I’ll never forget and never buy a ford again !

I'm sorry but all this explanation is just sales talk rather then real engineering talk. They obviously made corporate profitability the main standard to the North American market. Nickle and dime us because we'll have obtuse people with their fortune buy into this nonsense. $60k and no basic hood struts, no simple rear hvac controls or vents for a baby truck. This truck is no more capable then a similarly priced Ford Explorer which I can get a 3.0 twin turbo without having to go to a special sportier or off-road based version. While offering the aforementioned standard with a better ride and more passenger room and comfort while being similar in size. The Ford Maverick is far less money and offers more value and your not losing much choosing that off the Ranger which has turned into a 90's sized F-150. $60k gets me a better built, optioned and reliable low mileage certified F-150 or higher with better capabilities and negligible in size and fuel mileage. Why pay for these prices for something that will have issues at 100k miles doing any respectable trucking duties. The F-150 is just getting broken in at that point. If these trucks didn't exceed $40k for a top trim new then maybe it would be fair for the times. Even in these times the scandalously expected price for these trucks is basic legal corporate robbery. Let's hope the YOLO people with deep pockets or Covid inheritance money who haven't already blown it on foolishly priced nonsense have a moment of consciousness and realize just because you can and want to doesn't mean you should. Somethings no matter how much money you have are not worth the price being presented. This truck is definitely one of those ✌🏽🇺🇲

I think they did a great job on redesign- with exception of a smaller fuel tank in NA market. Smaller tank coupled with lack of diesel really limits the range compared to global Ranger. F-150 has double the capacity in this body style, but I'm not stepping up to that bloated of a vehicle.

      F-50 Bloated?
      F150 curb weight: 4,275 to 5,757 lbs
Ranger curb weight: 4,203 to 5,325

Why no sunroof option? Why no hybrid option with some legit power in the bed like the F150? Why no manual option when Tacoma has it? These are the questions that should have been asked.
