Yes but I think personally you also live an expensive lifestyle. I'm not saying anything is wrong with that. You are young, I don't think you are married or have children so enjoy your life.
For accommodation, we have 3 bedrooms ensuite with A/Cs in Kasoa area, fully furnished and in a quite area. It's about 500$ a month for the whole house.
Jasmine, its very interesting what you are showing us. However, I must say Ghana is pretty expensive for European tourists. I myself would like to get in touch with middle-class Ghanaians and live the life they live. Thanks for your great videos!
And for us Americans as well😅 The other negative is that for me as a diasporan-relatives back home expect a gift, usually monetary, so if not careful your stay in Ghana could and up being bad.
I can give you an idea. We are a mixed family. I'm american my husband is Ghanaian American and this year we made the move back home to Ghana. We own our house outright. No rent. We have a borehole and a water filter- no water expense (even drinking water). We garden. Electric is about 40-50 cedis a month. Phone varies- data being the biggest cost. No wifi. I hotspot my phone. Fuel is probably the biggest cost. We own our vehicles btw. Next biggest cost is school fees. After that our chop money. Everything else we rarely eat out- our entertainment is tv, visiting family and friends, I take online classes, family time, weddings, funerals and naming ceremonies.. we don't go out. Medical expenses is another cost. Not yet on national health insurance. My take on it is- cost all depends on your lifestyle. What do you value. Same as in any other country.
I didn't find it expensive at all and I'm from London compared to other countries I've been to. Maybe people are expecting African countries to be extremely cheap because of their perception. Plus it depends how your living if your expecting to live like you do in the west then expect to pay higher than if you paid for a more humble lifestyle
I didn't find it expensive at all as a tourist on average wage from London compared to other countries I've been to. Maybe people are expecting African countries to be extremely cheap because of their perception. Lovely tips, Jasmine. However, I believe the entry prices you’re mentioning must surely be for locals. Everywhere in the world locals pay less to access certain tourist attractions so do find out the prices for foreigners as well and share with your largely diaspora audience. Thanks again for a very thoughtful post.
The few times I was there, this year for example, went to the kwame Nkrumah museum . They charged me alittle more because I was ‘ foreigner’ or ‘American’ I thought that was interesting 😅.Did the same thing at the Elmina Castle lol Still doesn’t take away from my enjoyment though 🇬🇭
People forget that most foreigners have to pay for airfare, visa, and transportation, so to have one price for locals per foreigner can be expensive the average tourist, anyhow oh well stick to your budget 😊, thank you

I hope you can make a video about other regions like the Volta. All TH-camrs focus on the same topics/subjects in the same area.

Yes locals pay less xx
I think locals should pay less considering how much you would make in comparison being from america
Its taxes-- locals pay hefty taxes on everyday transactions
Just to add henna designs is around 50-100 cedis
WELDONE THANKS
Umm for our family of 4 my weekly grocery budget is around 500 cedis... breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Are you on holidays in Ghana?
@JasmineAmaa no we live here in Ghana full-time
@@wheatie83 its a different experience for someone on holiday.
Kwame Nkrumah museum was GHS100 for foreigners (GHS20 for locals).
