      exactly... the republican reps( and the Clinton's supporter **) they stand behind have much more wealth but they use that as a way to attack his person... then elect trump cause he is "A BUSINESSMAN & GREAT DEAL MAKER" when in reality they just believed he was loaded after ruining several businesses ventures.

      +Def Leotard I've heard, or read, similar criticism of Bernie before, and it still seems a stupid argument to me - then as it does now. First of all you seem to agree with Bernie on the issues of income inequality by accusing him of being a 1%:er, and therefore tacitly agree with him that it is not a good thing for a politician to be. And then you discourage people from voting -- or otherwise give support -- for him because he too is a part of the "system" and therefore his proposals for changing that system shouldn't somehow be trusted. Even though you previously agreed with the need, and his plan, to change this system. You're simply contradicting yourself.
      If you agree that governments all over the world, but the U.S in particular, needs to move to the left -- as do I by the way -- then Bernie is the man to support. Should you then find him unwilling to do the changes he so ardently proposes, then you can say he didn't deliver. Meanwhile you look for others who support the same, or perhaps even more efficient, changes, as Bernie himself advocates. And if the unlikely time comes, and Bernie betrays his ideals, then you could replace him with someone else who better represents those ideals and who will enact them. For the moment though he hasn't and it seems he won't.
      I could move on and dispute your assertions that Bernie "let" Hillary win, and that he "stood down" -- whatever that means -- but since you have already displayed a profoundly faulty reasoning processes I don't think I have to.

      Amen OP. Furthermore, Bernie is a 1% who wants to tax himself more. That's admirable if anything.

    • @justanotherbaldbastard2193
      @justanotherbaldbastard2193 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      + Green Space I can agree that Sanders has a bit more bite to him than a common variety sheep, but you're suggesting that he's waited until the age of seventy-four, and with a forty year record of relaying the exact same socialist message, before suddenly shifting gears and run an extremely taxing and draining presidential campaign only to somehow surrender to corruption by tirelessly exposing it long after the campaign has ended.
      And to what end? Money? Even though he doesn't actually need more money since he's already a part of the dreaded "1%" which he became by working for the lowest salary of any senator in America, and without taking corporate donations or other dodgy money.
      Have you ever heard of the word contradiction? Look it up if you haven't, it will be worth your time.
      Now I might be a bit of a hopeful in writing this but I think you're to dumb to be on the left, which would explain why you use rhetorical smears concocted by the alt-right.
      And quite frankly saying that you used to support Bernie is exactly what I expect someone on the right to say to give themselves an air of plausibility while discrediting people on the left. Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing. You "sir" are either an idiot or a liar, but either way your comment is entirely without merit except as an example of flawed thinking.

    No script, no notes and no teleprompter. Just an honest, eloquent, informed opinion from a great speak, superb politician and an even better person.

Be careful with touchie feelie hope messages that paint images of unicorns and rainbows. Politics aside, Bernie's oratorical skills are head and shoulders above anyone else currently running for high office in the US. Public oratory in general has reached rock bottom in the US, with 45th president at the forefront of this decline. Equally disquieting is that millions of Americans are unable or just unwilling to recognize this trend.

      His ideas cannot stand on their own, so he has to build this incredibly negative image of Trump and the distance himself from Trump as much as possible by virtue signalling in order to convince the audience that he is "The good guy".
      All he does is play identity politics "Women in America are standing up to Donald Trump because the US shouldn't tell them what to do with their bodies" --- "Sexism, Racism, blah blah blah".
      He cannot make a point without playing identity politics, using emotional arguments or playing the racist/sexist card.

    I wouldn't even call myself a socialist, but it seems many of the critiques people have on here shows a general lack of reading and understanding about socialism (and it's completely totalitarian form of communism)

      Right! *The real problem are billionairs.* And if they would just enjoy their wealth then even that would be OK. *What makes them so dangerous, is they use it for power.* They influence what scientists can research, how doctors treat their patients, what architect build, what corporations pay their workers.
      They manipulate everyone and everything. Billionairs ruin workplace atmospheres everywhere. They ruin the planet, they block innovation. They play games with our politics, run circles around our democracy, tell media what to show us and what not to show.

      @@cman7609 well, that's just not true. Communism is the proposed phase after socialism where states, class, and such have been completely abolished. The end goal of communism is the same as anarchism, but communists think socialism has to be used as a transition phase in between. I'd love that to be what we could do, but I don't see that being a viable option anytime soon. Establishing socialism, though, I think we may be able to manage.
      Also, fascism isn't a type of socialism. It's a far right ideology, and often marks itself as not only being an alternative to, but also viciously opposed to socialism. Fascists will sometimes talk about things that sound similar to socialist ideas to give themselves more appeal, but upon closer inspection are completely counter to any worker oriented goals. "Class collaboration" is a good example of such a bullshit tactic/idea often touted by fascists to try and sound class conscious.

    • @cman7609
      @cman7609 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@burninsherman1037 nope. Communism is a type of government and an economic system which immediately distinguishes it from anarchism which wants to abolish the state. Communism is a type of socialism, socialism being a category of ideologies defined by collective or state ownership of the means of production. Fascism also falls into this category. The nazi's were the national socialist workers party and fascist Italy was also a socialist movement. Fascist Italy/Germany both applied extreme state control over the economy. These were far left movements. The far right has racists and white supremacists, but that does not make them fascists. They are more akin to the racist democrats of early American history who believed in minimal government control.

    I have trouble believing that Bernie has ever encountered an American or heard the word 'economics'. He doesn't seem to have any grasp of reality. I guess it could be dementia. He's a socialist so he can't be that smart.
    The Paris deal was built to hobble economies, particularly the US. The US is much better without it and the climate won't be affected. The move was quite popular.
    He doesn't understand what taxes are. Tax is taking money from people and tax cuts aren't giving people money. That is their money that they earned. Ending aid is not taking money from people, it is not giving them money they have no right to.
    Capitalism isn't based on greed, it is based on self-interest. Desire for things makes you produce things and then trade gets you what you want. Socialism is based on greed and also makes people greedy because it is based on theft. People earn money in capitalism by producing things, people get resources in socialism by taking them from the people who produced them. This guy has no clue and leads people who don't have the excuse of being old.

    at 4:05 senator Sanders implies that President Trump wants to take millions of people’s health insurance. It was in fact Senator Sanders who supported Obama care. And example in my own life is my 90-year-old aunt. She worked at Western electric and had United healthcare. Her husband, my uncle worked at General Electric. He took less in his pension in order to have a second coinsurance for my aunt which was also united healthcare provided by General Electric.. these were conscientious people doing the right thing. 30 years later Obama care confiscates my aunts second coinsurance, which my uncle in fact paid for. When trying to push the Obama care legislation, there were commercials from the Democratic Party indicating that the Republicans were going to throw granny off the cliff. There was a time in our nations history when Americans were noble. President Trump wants to return us to that time. There was a time when agreements and contracts were sacred. The usurpation of that contract between my uncle and general electric by the United States government is disgusting. Our forefathers gave their lives to prevent Government overreach. In your own country of England I believe king John was handed a copy of the Magna Carta at the edge of a sword in a meadow in Runnemede. I am grateful that I live in a nation that has its roots in the rule of law from England. Let us remember where we are and where we came from. We have heard people through out the decades Promising a utopia. Senator Sanders and Mr. Marx Comment sound good on paper. We have seen the results. What did Einstein say about doing the same thing and expecting a different result? What did Einstein call that? My mothers father escaped eastern Slovakia 100 years ago when the communist confiscated the family grist mill. We have seen what government power can do to the individual. I for one stand for the individual over the power of government. We the people empower government, to be our servants. We are not their servants. If you follow this man you your children and your children’s children will learn a horrible lesson again. Mr. Sanders turned a blind eye to the Republican plan, which was basically the Swiss plan modified to be constitutional in the United States. Each state like the current cantons of Switzerland would compete for providing medical insurance. There would be 10 levels of service. The lowest level would be provided by the state to the homeless.

      Worth mentioning that J Corbyn, A wedgewood Benn and co were lifelong anti marketeers.

    Why did Bernie go to Britain to criticize his country?

    A truly good and honest man who should have been president.The trouble was ,he was an Independent candidate and therefore not belonging to one or other of the two main parties.The Democrats did not have the gumption to get behind him.If they had listened to their voters ,Bernie would now be president.Gladly,the resistance in America will continue and they will overcome!

    Income inequality is not a winning issue Bernie. Women won't support it because they want rich men, Men won't support it because they want to get rich so women will finally take notice of them.
    Getting money out of politics is a winning issue though. No one on the right or left wants their politicians to be bought out.
    We do want to encourage the rich to do good deeds though. Elon Musk is a good example. Jack Ma too

    Senator Sanders you are a bit romantic and you haven't been completely honest, the answer to the subject is as follows, as long as the FEDERAL RESERVE, BANK OF ENGLAND, E.C.B, are private business and not state owned you can say what ever you like nothing will change, and you haven't mentioned them at all, i hope the young generation will not follow this people, this people are part of the system
