    I viewed one of their music videos and commented to my wife wondering how she was able to hold the guitar without the foot stand and still maintain such great technique and clarity of sound w/o looking like a pretzel at the end of the piece (ok I’m ancient - C. Parkening was my idol when he was 24). Now I know... may get one myself and try it. Thx...

    Yesterday I saw Valeria Galimova for the first time and I thought " She holds the guitar the same way I do ! " ( in a flamenco stylee ) . After getting a new microscope I spotted the guitar support . I'm glad it hasn't taken me too long to find out what it was, and this is the first advert I've ever seen on TH-cam that I want to watch over and over .....

      I did some research and this is what I found out there are 3 different cases in the video. Karmen has a white Crossrock case, Stephanie has a black Altamira carbon fiber case and there is a third case that can be seen in the background in minute 4:20 that one is a Visenut case. I hope that helps.

    I recently watched some videos of Stepanie Jones' videos' with other students. It looked like they balanced the guitar on their right knees. I then watched Andres Segovia and John Williams, who both used a prop under their left foot and rested the guitar on their left leg. I am so pleased to know the students used a new invention rather than just holding the guitar wrong.

    • @stddisclaimer8020
      @stddisclaimer8020 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @E. Miller: The guitar was never held "wrong" by the likes of Segovia, Bream and Williams. They were doing it correctly. If some millennial-minded fool comes along wishing to re-invent the Segovia wheel, he's welcome to try his luck at that imprudent pursuit. But, when all the frets are in, he/she is doing it wrong.

    It looks very useful, but I have to wonder about the effect on the instrument's finish of sticking and unsticking suction cups over and over, or of having those "foils" sticking on long-term, especially considering the manufacturer's disclaimer on their website rejecting any responsibility for damage to a guitar's finish from their product. That would make me rather hesitant to use it on a multi-thousand-dollar guitar.

    • @disemwu8895
      @disemwu8895 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agreed with you. The guitar support is useful but must consider the effect of those "foils" on your guitar surface. If your guitar apply French polish like me, once you remove the "folis" from your guitar, irreparable marks will be remained on the guitar surface. Of course, it won't affect the sound, it's just cosmetic issue. I emphasisd that the product is good and useful. I just shared my experience to those guitar lovers whose guitars have French polish.

    • @mistaowickkuh6249
      @mistaowickkuh6249 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can plug your belt sander and remove all the polish from the back plate of your guitar. It still won't change the sound noticeably. Protect your front and you're good. If you want a once and done kind of deal, have some strap buttons installed and use a good strap. You can even play standing that way which is better for your skeleton. However, if you're worried about your finish and the appearance of your guitar, you shouldn't even touch it and display it behind a glass cover. Any guitar that is used will look "used" eventually.

The Segovia/Tarrega position (w/footstool) is the best, logically and ergonomically, no matter the century. The Millennials and Gen-Zs have contributed nothing of lasting value, that will endure after the time of the current trends/fads are up.

      @@stddisclaimer8020 No traumatologist or graduate in physical activities and sports or similar in the 21st century can ever tell you that it is natural to stand with one leg raised for 15 minutes or more. These "devices" may not be perfect, but they arise and have been developed for a very clear reason. Segovia and Tárrega didn´t know other options but I´m sure they would like to investigate for getting better.

    I recently purchased a "big" Guitarlift after reading and watching lots of glowing reviews. I cannot say how bitterly disappointed I am. Not only has it NOT alleviated the back pain I was experiencing, as promised, but new back pain has been added to the existing plus pain in my right wrist. Unfortunately, as this was purchased mail order I am unable to return it for a refund. Let this be a caution to others: don't buy before you can try, make certain a refund is an option, don't believe all the positive reviews, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I am now stuck with an overpriced piece of plastic.
