I got on FT4 recently, and everyone was having a hard time decoding me. I only made a handful of contacts over 45 minutes. I'm going to miss all 4 of the practice sessions in May and June because of schedule conflicts. Either my part time job or a ham radio club meeting. Bummer.
VT RADIO you may want to check you PC time. Do you have a good time sync app? Timing is very critical. Also you input levels to your radio should be checked. You want little to 0 ALC. take a look at my FT8 video for help with both of those.
@@AE4VJYes, Dimension 4 is always running, and ALC is at zero. I'm using the sound card interface built into the TS-590S. There may be a slight delay with this method. I might try the RIGblaster via the mic connector.
Timing is the most important. Next is keeping the audio out of the ALC. you will need to use an app to keep your pc clock in check. Take a look at the notes for the ft8 video.
@@ralphwilmot6351 Yes, timing is correct with Dimension 4. I got Worked All States in 3 days, once I got rolling. I rarely get on it anymore because I work the band out in 30 minutes. 73 Paul AA1SU PS You're in my log 3 times.
And 2 years later ... the winner is ... FT8 !!!
vara ACchat even better... on all fronts
bellisimo programma completo per fare tt8 e ft4 in digitale
FT4 has started to catch on, now my prefered mode G4PEY
It’s more of a contest mode
@@AE4VJ More than a contest mode, found to be very good on QRP and is FT8 on steroids
It does seem to get you a little more hyped up :). Not as good on weak signals, but seems to be as good or better than cw
Death of FT8?!?!...Not really.
Yes FT4 complements FT8

Its more important to get the timing right
