The only two StS streamers I watch is Baalor and Amaz. Baalor takes 8 minutes to start the run, by 8 minutes Amaz already died to extra strength Book of Stabbing in act 2.

Yeah, I probably would have given up the un-upgraded dark embrace to keep the already powerful dagger, but as he said, it was absolutely the draw engine of the decks final form against heart, where the ritual dagger would have only been a minor player in that fight (Yes, he got another dark embrace by that point, but it wasn’t guaranteed at all).
@@daforkgaming3320 I’m not sure about that. I’d like to see a much larger sample size than 1. You may be correct, but I think it can’t be told so easily. Spire is just too complex.
@@SuperYtc1 Fair enough, but his reasoning for dropping ritual dagger was pretty strong. His draw engine would last throughout the fight while ritual dagger was one hit.
I forgot to ask this on the video where it actually happened, but if in a card reward you've got two cards you're genuinely torn between (in this case it was a Pommel Strike vs a Disarm), does the rarity ever become a consideration? In the example, if I was trying to choose I think I'd normally go for Disarm just because I think it's more likely I'll see another Pommel Strike later than another Disarm, based on rarity. But every time I see that kind of choice where you don't mention any reason to really value one over the other, the relative rarities don't seem to come up.
Yeah if you're 100% torn 50/50 between two cards and you can't decide. You might as well take the more rare card since it will be harder to find later. Although between uncommon and Rare it's often harder to find the uncommon card because you get guaranteed rare cards offered after bosses and there are a lot more uncommon cards.
@@davids182 Totally. The thing that struck me is that I've never seen Baalor mention it as a consideration (not that I've watched _every_ video) and he's normally pretty thorough when setting out all the factors he's thinking about.
It's worth noting that rarity is a very intensive comparator as card find rate varies based on circumstance (shop vs elite vs hallway) character (different #s of each rarity of cards affects your odds of seeing a given common/uncommon/rare) and prior outcomes (common cards seen already). The best way to have a strong idea of aggregate % to see a given card is to just simulate the game because it's that complicated.
@@ismathers In fact there were several times when he mention something like "we are more likely to see X later on...." , referring to the same consideration. Not very common, but every once in a while.
If you transform a status it should become a curse but if mark of pain added to the deck I could likely see the behaviour change to it being a random status.
20:23 this was the biggest blueballs i have ever gotten from a sts vid... truly tragic that no elite tomfoolery could be afforded... sling of courage is honestly my fav shop relic on a conceptual level
Odds of that crazy luck in the Slaver’s fight was 1/51. That’s nearly as lucky as correctly calling a coinflip six times in a row. Not infeasibly rare, but still rare.
Minor correction for the Sun Dial infinite interaction! I believe as long as you attempt to draw more cards than what is currently in your Draw pile, you proc Sun Dial once. For instance, if your Discard pile is empty and you have one card in your Draw pile, playing Pommel Strike+ draws one, then increments Sun Dial by one, even though it would have done NOTHING if both were empty. This means that the reason Pommel Strike+ infinites work is most likely because you draw the card in the Discard pile (Sun Dial + 1), which enters the Draw pile, then the additional draw looks for another card while the Draw pile has one card in the Discard pile (Sun Dial + 2), and THEN you draw the card into your hand. The distinction is not great and potentially unimportant, but it’s noteworthy because I believe I observed the former happening once in this run. I couldn’t find the time stamp, but in one of the final fights Baalor plays Pommel+ with only a card in the Draw pile and an empty Discard pile and increments Sun Dial regardless. Do with this info what you will. I think it works as long as you draw more cards than are in the Draw pile and Discard pile combined in one go (like how Dark Embrace occurs separately from Burning Pact)
Thanks for the video! I've been watching for a few months now, and it's always a good time. Anyways I just wanted to point out that the end of the description is not for this video; there are no content mods being used here.
Hey Baalor, long time viewer, the following just dawned on me during the Shield/Spear fight on A4: what happens if you cast Limit Break with negative strength, does it double the number downwards? like..... from (-2) to (-4) and so on? or does nothing happen? random science thoughts.
Just released my first TH-cam video and it’s an ironclad run where I got uppercut and feed as starter cards. Your videos definitely helped me get to the point where I felt comfortable to make my own content. Thanks for making great videos ❤️❤️

It's streamer luck. Streamers drain luck from their viewers, so we normal players get screwed all the time
The falling event was truly a testament to a high level player knowing the game better than I do
