Well, I got my first tarantula and while I know it’s not necessarily recommended for beginners, I just love them so much I couldn’t resist, so I picked up a Harpactira Pulchripes. :) I have watched you for… well a couple of years I guess but incrementally focusing on this more and more. After researching everything extensively I just went ahead and got exactly what I wanted, deciding to just trust your wisdom on every bit of the care. I rehoused it in the Moran style with the paper towels though due to not having a custom made tabletop yet.. and everything worked great. After a few hours I went back to check on her and she’s exploring the enclosure and laying down web (“trip wires” more so I guess). Thank you so much for helping me do this! When I first found the tarantula shock type videos years ago with them threat posturing, being defensive, bolting, teleporting, etc I had NO idea why these crazy people would want to mess about with a venomous animal, that unhinged. I mean.. pythons don’t behave anything like that, why not just get one of those if you wanted a predator?! Then I found your channel (others too but you stand out head and shoulders above in my humble opinion) and grew to have an entirely different view of them. I came to see these as the ambush predators they are, ones reacting that way in no small part due to their keepers, having since learned that the spider is far more content to be left alone in its hide than running around acting crazy (I realize there are different levels and such that’s not a full blanket statement). Anyways, I appreciate you sharing your passion with the world and me, it definitely has had an effect. There are assuredly many many people and certainly spiders too directly benefiting from the time and energy you put into this everyday.

I was watching a vid of pamphobeteus in the wild one girl had a sack and instead of hiding with it she was sat right in the entrance with the sack infront of her she looked like she was hunting even though she had a sack. Made me wonder if other sp would do that too, still hunt and drink regardless of having a sack , even in captivity . I know my partners blondi came out for water while she had her sack too, and he got slings, so it was a viable sack . I find it all extremely interesting. The more i learn, the more i believe we have only scratched the surface of t keeping . Please keep us updated n let us know if feeding and watering her helped her keep her sack 😊 great vid as always Dave, Camera Lady 🙂

Perhaps the Balfori and Blue leg are more individual in their behavior and preferences than most other spiders you breed. Just as they are calmer than others the individuality shows while they have an egg sack and are interested in food and water. The more answers you get, the more questions present!
