      Why would throwing an experimental band-aid fix be the best thing. There are millions of cp4's in operation with less than a 7% failure rate, a failure rate that 99% is due to human negligence.

      @@HSKFabrications experimental? You do know this style pump has been used for years in other applications. The cp4 is a complete shit pump. If it was such a good pump then why did ram and gm stop using it? It’s because they know the pump is garbage. It’s funny how so many shit on this dcr pump, but everyone was crying because no one made a pump that would replace the cp4 and now someone does and the cp4 is so great lol 😂. I’ll take my chance’s cause at least if this pump goes out it won’t wipe out the whole fuel system.

      @anthonyc993 Experimental to the 6.7 platform. I know it's been around, made in China for years. It's a shit pump in the hands of shit owners. I've been modifying 6.7's since 2011 with zero cp4 failures, I take care of a fleet of F550's with zero failures. It's comical that you think the dcr will not fail, when in fact there have been tons of failures including seizures, which in the 6.7 will spin the crank gear(if not welded) and cause catastrophic damage. We also don't know the long-term effects of a 2-pulse/Rev pump in place of the 4-pulse/Rev cp4 which is timed to the 4 injection events/Rev to prevent high pressure rail harmonics. To me, the dcr is an excuse for the lazy to continue to be lazy since it's touted as bulletproof to contamination. But you do you. Hop on that bandwagon.

      @@HSKFabrications I have not read or heard of one dcr failing. You are full of shit. You don’t read to well cause I never said it couldn’t fail. Also you are thinking of the cp4 that can seize and destroy the engine. Some have had great luck with the cp4 and others have not. The pump will not handle any contaminants at all. I have no problem putting a product on my truck from s&s as they sell quality parts.

    Just installed the dcr on my 2018 F350, great people and fantastic service from XDP. No clicking noise and motor sounds better.

      I AM LOOKING TO PURCHASE A 2015 350 PLATINUM DUALLY 6.7 WITH 167 K MILES ON IT. WHAT TO LOOK FOR ? HOW CAN ONE TELL IF THE PUMP HAS BEEN INSTALLED OR SHOULD BE INSTALLED? ONE VIDEO BY A DEALER MECHANIC SAID IF MAINTAINED PROPERLY IT SHOULD GO LONG. I AM ONLY PLANNING TO USE THE TRUCK FOR PULLING MY CYCLONE TOY HAULER 18500 LBS TRIPLE AXLE . FOR RELOCATION, NOT TOURING.

    What keeps pump debris from getting into the rest of the fuel system if the dcr was to fail?

    Hey just curious…I have 15% over injectors. Is that a factor in maybe needing a tune? I feel like it should be fine

      Should be fine. S&S released a video comparing DCR to other pumps, namely a 10mm stroker, and it outperforms the stroker on the top end for fuel flow.

    I just installed one for my accountant, his pump just started to fail and I told him we need to do a fuel system and put a dcr on it.

    Fuel line at the top of the pump was not pushed down and bolt was loose sucking air and making gear knocking sound

    Can someone explain to me, what the difference is between the 2 pump. If there is water/rust or if it fails, why does one ruin everything and one doesn't? Sorry, I don't understand. Thanks Troy

      So in the dcr pump the bottom of the pump where the motor turns it is separate from the pump heads the cp4 pump is not so the cp4!would Gernade and all the metal from the lower end of the pump would send the metal to the pump heads and pump metal filled fuel trough you lines, fuel rails, and injectors it would also go trough the return and kill your fuel cooler. The dcr pump even if it explodes with is less likely the metal will stay contained in the bottom of the pump and not sent into the rest of the fuel system

    I just had a DCR installed and I hear a knocking noise fuel pressure is good. Acceleration is good no codes. ?

      We would advise you to reach out to the installer or S&S Diesel to help find the potential issue as XDP’s F-450 does not sound any different than it did before the installation
