FYI: I filmed this the other day but got the monetization back on. Will be interesting to see if anything big changes since I'm no longer on a network. This video seems to be getting out a little quicker than usual.
you have an honest appearance and trusting personality.
Do what you have to do! We’re with you!
Other than looking like an icecream sammich it seems like a solid knife
Ice scream sammich ☺️
Would you turn down an icecream sammich? Not me.
@@littlejimmy7402 I definitely wouldn't. Love me some icecream sammiches
I think you are one if the few people I trust when it comes to Schrade.
I thought that company made the M7 bayonet knife many years ago ?
Big time !
I got both from Schrade as well and he is right. Full retail at 99.99 at Schrade and other retailers around $85. These are absolutely Bangers 🔥
What steel are they using?
@@mikeborrelli193these are in D2 man. I'll have a video going over them as well
I found jessX saber grind for $20 each. You may have sold us about it. I bought 5. I have given them out to some dudes that appreciate them. I have two left. One new one I beat on. The bottom hook angle pinches some but other than that I love that thing. Dig it.
The last Schrade I purchased was over 25 years ago. It is a USA made Schrade Old Timer 34OT. Soon after that, Schrade started messing up with cheap chinese junk. My 34OT is always in my pocket, has been used, abused, is still going strong and holds a wicked edge. I keep my knives maintained and sharp. I never let them get dull and give them a touch up on the strop after a few uses. I have rarely ever had to go beyond a fine ceramic or re-profile any of my knives. Use any knife for its designed purpose, maintain it and it will last.
That's the problem companies face, one big mistake creates a PR nightmare, and alot of customers won't forget or forgive. In some cases it's warranted (Gillette), in others they get rid of the problem people and make amends.
I got one of their smaller full tang blades for like $7 about a year ago and I love it. It is perfect for opening packages with.
Glad to see you are looking healthy and happy Cris. These look like a good deal. Thank you for the info.
Good to see they didn't F the dog on those. CobraTec is also making excellent, high value knives. Non àutos too. Just picked up a bone handled trapper auto with a hidden release bolster in D2. I'd rate it 9 out of 10, & I've been collecting for 45yrs.
Thanks Chris, looking forward to getting one of those.
D2 when heat treated correctly is one of the best budget steels that is dependable. I love d2 and 1095 my two main choices, these newer steels they have out are too expensive, although I have heard wonderful things about the knife company called Lion steel but I don't have that kind of finances to buy one to check it out to make an informed choice. But anywho, glad to see your back my friend. Be well and stay blessed
Just ordered one, gonna give it a try, it will be my first automatic knife.
Thanks Chris
I love me cheap Schrade toadstabber dagger. That thing just looks scary. And if the blade breaks off in your cervical vertebrae..oh well. You get a souvenir.
I like the size. Good video. I'll look it up.
Thanks for the video I will buy one when I run into one for sure
Can you get the tan with non-serrated?
I want one. I gotta get my hands on one to review and share them are sweet looking
I like these. Might just try em’ out!
I normally only like out the side autos. Those do look nice though.
Schrade is actually making some decent stuff still made in USA
I am thinking about buying a good quality fixed blade. I want to buy KaBar military knife and a Gordon Bowie copy of the Buck 119 knife at Harbor Freight tools store 🔪
I dunno. I bought a Schrade bushcrafting knife, it broke almost immediately while doing bush crafting stuff. I emailed schrade customer support and they ignored me.
Bummer. Which model?
Had the same with Gerber with a button lock pocketknife that fell apart cutting a small zip tie, leaving 6 stitches in my finger.
nice otfs..take care
they still have lightings they even have a upgraded verson.
Have you tried a Cobratec? If so, what did you think?
I have several & all are EXCELLENT, high value knives. Non-autos too.
I picked up their froe, and l like it quite a bit.
The Scrhrade FROE is AWESOME, especially if you wrap lots of racket tape around the handle, then coat it in plastidip, then strip the blade and duracoat it. It then goes from "great" to "can't live without it"!
I swore I’d never buy another Schrade knife about 5 years ago due to quality control and heat treat issues. Well, I decided to give a Schrade made Old Timer fixed blade in D2 a shot for $50. It’s a solid camp knife! I’m still skeptical of their brand, but they might be able to win me over again. Maybe.
that knife is just a worse buck
Hello Chris, hope all's well with everyone/thing! Good stuff for sure... Keep up the good work and vids... Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
I remember the first one, it broke in under 5 minutes! Back in the olden days 😅
I remember the first time seeing an otf on Romancing the stone, and I was in love as a boy. A little later in life I got to handle that knife and it was called the black panther. Don't know who made it because I didn't get to hold it long😢
Chris, these OTF knives may even give "Andy Tran" the fizz! Cheers, Mate.
I don’t want you to be mean, I want you to be honest and have integrity.
You mentioned Benchmade and long embedded memory’s. Where you taking about how they helped cut up guns for a police department.
Show 👏👏👏
I like them but I’d prefer a different blade style.
Sweet
Cool knife, thanks….glad you got monetized
What happened to Taylor Brands
If i use your dlt link to buy another leatherman arc you'll get credit?
Yes 👍
Boker is coming put with an otf the usb otf
Hows the blade play?
Very minimal
6oubare one of the OGs brother . Keep going. If ANYONE could never be a shillfor Schrade...😂
👍
How long will they warranty these? I got one of these a year ago, and it has been garbage since day one. I was so disappointed, that I just never touched it aince then. I didn't want to send it in just to get another crap knife back.
These are new.
@@preparedmind101 can dust, dirt, mud and sand cause automatic knives malfunction ?
@unitedstatesirie7431 hell yes they can. Pocket lint is a big one too.
That's a thick ass knife Holy shit
This is enough to make start hyperventillating
No links?
There unavailable at Schrade right now but I no there's 2 retailers that have them in stock right now for around 80
Not out yet. Soon.
Subconsciously, people refuse to believe that, over time, improvements can happen. It's why your parents continue to throw that thing you did, when you were 3 years-old, in your face. Schrade's entire new line up looks pretty good. I haven't seen any knifetuber reviews, though, so I'm a little hesitant to take that plunge. I, too, have been burned by that brand, and it's hard to see that it has grown up.
It reminds me of a cookie... guess I'm hungry 😂
Looks ugly to me though. I am still holding out to get a benchmade when fund are there.
Michigan it's legal to own a auto knife but it can't be double edged
I watched this video already but I wanted to help out by watching it again since this time it is monetized for now at least
We need a collaboration.....JoergSprave folding.....Jess X :)
But TH-cam will allow loads of inappropriate ads on my phone but I personally don’t wanna see
Schrade FINALLY got their shit together with OTFs...is that what you're saying Chris?...lol
I know people give Schrade a hard time, but I've seen them have their ups/downs just like any other knife company...and as far as budget friendly knives, they've done reasonably well...they've made some pretty janky knives that probably overshadowed the better offerings...but sometimes you have to make some bad things and find out the hard way.
I've always hated the grind on the Benchmade Infidel and have corrected it on a lot of the ones brought by customers at their request...they love everything except the terrible grind and some complain about the D2 blade rusting (I like D2 if it's tempered well)
If Schrade does this right and uses respectable steel and has good Q/C, this may be one of their best sellers in the near future...they could probably go for a bit lower profile on the trigger though imo
Made in US? Well I’ll buy
Wish we could get an auto in Australia, but not to be, oh well thank you big Government for deciding I can't have that saving me from having a ouch.
Careful buddy, just saying you wish you had one is probably enough to get you in trouble there 😂
Almost 4 minutes before the knife was shown in the video and deployed. Almost stopped watching.
Sup Ohio boy!
Honestly, if I picked it up and it didn’t say schrade, I would be guessing some chiner co. Made it. Just my humble opinion, and I’m not dissing the review or anything. But the blocky lines of a rather large handle to tiny blade ratio, what I’m seeing through the video, they look cheap. And I get it, they are actually cheap compared to others in the OTF world, but looking cheap is not a good thing, on a hundred dollar schrade. It’s just the wrong category to be dickin around with making budget moves, with chiner parts and “USA assembly”. I get the feeling that the knife community is already tired of D2’s comeback campaign, that to me, always screamed, chiner’s involved in some fashion. It’s like these companies trying to be sneaky. CPM D2, good stuff! German D2, good stuff! Chiner and Pakistan D2? 🤷🏼♂️
Anyway, thanks for the review, Chris🤙🏼
Eye of the beholder. I've handled plenty of cheap Schades and will be first to point out if it looks cheap. These for look out feel cheap to me. If I had one complaint it would be "Schrade" on the pocket clip.
Can we really have a prepared mind for Hawk Tuah??
Benchmade is ANTIGUN, that's a fact .. Quit simping for benchmade
Your tinfoil hat is on too tight.
It would be nice if did less talking and get to the knifes.
The problem is the blades are NOT USEFUL...they are classic (OLD😢) designs... If they could incorporate modern blade shapes and grinds they would be awesome...these are just stabby...that's it...only useful for who? "Operators"? Otherwise you did good service to old friends who are trying, I get it... They need to innovate at an affordable price.
If you get stabbed with a Chinese knife you go to hell apparently so i see why people don’t like Chinese steel. Sorry that’s a joke I had a buddy that cussed me for carrying a chinesium knife!
I would not take a pocket knife with D2 Tool steel. Out in the woods. D2 will end up rusting. I wish that schrade would use better steel. Like 12C27 Sandvik or 14C28N Sandvik. Or AUS-10
That's not exactly a woods knife
Well for my Bushcraft OTF.....
They do take a look at the delta class inert flippers they are Aus10
Unfortunately I live in communist controlled territory. What free states sell them? I even hear you can buy them at places like Lowe’s or Home Depot.
Yeah you can keep that $99 garbage
I want one. I gotta get my hands on one to review and share them are sweet looking
