Ozello Trail - Crystal River Florida - 4 Days After Hurricane Helene

The end of Ozello Trail in Crystal River Florida is a beautiful place, even 4 days after Hurricane Helene struck the area. Signs of storm surge are all around, but most of the houses weathered the storm. A few docks are broken and the expected piles of soaked appliances and mattresses are at the curbs. Further up the trail, residents appear to have fared worse. The contents of entire houses line the roadways along with downed trees that Citrus County workers were in the process of collecting.
Please check Citrus County Facebook groups for opportunities to volunteer in this area. Residents need their floors cleared of mud, soaked furniture/cabinets removed, and drywall cut out to speed up the drying process.
