    Hi everyone! Lol….I didn’t realize until I watched it now that it might look like we were sponsored for this…but we weren’t! ☺️ We paid our own way, but wanted to promote a small company we had a good experience with! Have you ever kayaked crystal river?

    I see why they call this Crystal River….it’s so clear! Me being directionally challenged, I would have probably gotten lost….even with a map 😂 Such a beautiful area to explore

    Do you think the kayak trip from your rental company to three sisters springs and then back is doable with younger children (6+8). 2 adults, 2 children.
    If you're unsure, do you have an estimate on how long that trip would take?

    • @dorothykessler1393

      To clarify, just from rental company to three sisters, hang out for a bit and then back to the rental company.

    Great job! I work at Three Sisters … water and land access closed until November 2023! And even then it will be manatee season so water access will be extremely limited!

    Hi Chrissa, thanks for sharing this beautiful trip with us. I was on the Three Sister`s website and I got confused if both admission and parking is free. Also, is there restaurants, bathrooms and all type of equipment rentals inside the place? My plan was to spend the morning on the Springs and head to the Fort Beach in the afternoon. I`m not sure if is all connected. Thanks a lot.

    • @ChrissaTravels
      @ChrissaTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @nahozorio! There is no way to launch or get into the water from Three Sisters Spring itself. It is pretty small and has a parking lot and a walkway around the spring. But, you can only get into it by waterway. The place that I launched from (in the video) is one of the closest Kayaking companies on the canal that is closest to the spring. You should be able to get to the beach by following Crystal River.

    Disclaimer to my question, I’m from Delaware. I feel like as a tourist the stereotype is that alligators are everywhere there is water. Is the water too salty for them here?

    • @ChrissaTravels
      @ChrissaTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you are being safe to assume that there might be a gator in any body of water in Florida! Just keep in mind that alligators are ambush predators, and like to stay in murky water where they can stay hidden… so, it is rare to see them in the springs because of this. Rare..but not impossible! I have definitely seen them in the clearer waters of the spring…but they tend to be the smaller ones. I think as long as you keep your distance from them, you should be fine!

    • @supermadducky6287
      @supermadducky6287 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a florida resident it’s well known this area lacks gators compared to most of florida. While it’s possible, a lot of the water is brackish. Not only that, but it stays too cold for them to want to be in. So this particular area I wouldn’t worry too much, just always be vigilant. With water this clear you could see any with size from very far away, and small ones are more scared of you than you are of them.

      @@supermadducky6287 The water in this area is not brackish. It's far to removed from the Gulf to be brackish.

      Well for starters that doesn't qualify as a "stereotype". This is also freshwater but being in Saltwater doesn't mean you won't enounter an alligator.
