Ofcourse to the finals m8 🙂 Some background information of this song.
This song is a tribute to his father / Parents who passed away. Europa in Dutch means Europe. Pa or Papa means dad. His dad once told him the world has no “Grenzen” which could be translated to both borders (Borders are a man made concept) or limitations (Many people create their own limitations in their own mind). This life lesson inspired him to have keep having an open view on the world and live his life to the fullest without putting limitations on himself.

Wie hij ook is, hij zet zich in en ik vind het van Hennie Huisman verwerpelijk om te zeggen: je bent een artiest of niet, Henny: mijn moeder overleed en trad daarna gewoon op!

its not really out of the comfort zone, this is a genre called "Happy Hardcore" which was huge in the nineties in The Netherlands especially. The dance you see in the video is called "Hakken" which people still do ,since happy hardcore is very nostalgic and loved by many dutch people 😁

As much as it is insn't my taste of music, this is actually the comfort zone of the Netherlands. Happy hardcore was and is big in the country. And al of the elements used in this clip, are very Dutch.

After his parents died he carried a lot of pain with him. No matter where on earth he was (Germany, Italy), whatever food he would eat (Escargots in France, Fish and chips in UK, Paella in Spain), he still carries this pain with him. In the end nobody but himself could deal with this pain and he himself must find peace with his losses. Only going through the grief and finding inner peace would put a end to this suffering. This song tells the story of him as an orphan trying to do exactly that.
Him creating this song was a huge part of this process. The line with Stromae / papaoute (which Translates to: Dad where are you), is followed with the words about how he wants his parents to be proud of him. He used to watch Eurovision with his parents and told them one day he would be there performing. Which is what he now did.

This is really the 90th with happy hardcore and gabberpop; my beautiful childhood and how special it is that Joost, who was born in 1997, brings this style back into our lives.
What an artist and a performer.🙏 Truly the best of the Netherlands ever. This song is with happiness and sadness combined, that releases all kinds of different feelings in a human body.Terrific beat, terrific feelings, thank you Joost.🙏🙏🙏
This is what music is about.
If this isn't going to win, than I don't know it anymore and we'd better abolish the entire Eurovision Song Contest.
Love this, love Joost, with love and 12 points.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉😊😊

12 points to The Netherlands. The winner of the Eurovision Songcontest 2024.
This is a masterpiece. Euro papa= Euro dad, because papa is dad in Dutch. A sad song with lyrics with a meaning, with a message, in a happy hardcore melody. A letter to his father who died when he was a 12 year old child. His mother past away a year later. He promised his father that he will be someday on the Eurovision Songcontest stage. His father told him that it is possible because there are no borders between the countries, and no limits to follow his dream. Borders and limitations are made by human. In every country he went, he felt the pain and grief of no having his parents. The fire symbolise letting go of the grief and pain, and the start of a new chapter in his live.

Little bit of background on Joost. He was creative from a very young age and also a bit different. His father said that there are no boundaries and he should follow his dreams. They always watched the Eurovision Songfestival together so as a kid he replied that his dream would be to go to the Eurovision Songfestival. Then his dad passed away when he was 12 and his mother when he was 13. For inspiration and acceptance of the loss of his parents he travelled trough Europe. Therefore he sings that the pain and emptiness stayed with him no matter where he went. He paid for mental help but it did not work for him. Still he managed to be a very positive and joyful person as reflected in this song. He sings about the song Papaoutai from Stromae that is also about missing his father. In all of this he managed to combine lot's of cultural aspects of different European countries and the Netherlands. There is even a Max Verstappen reference. Without the layer of his personal life you will notice that a lot of elements can directly be related to the European countries. The young boy and the old man represent him and his father struggling trough life and his father being an example for him. The windmill is near where he spend his youth so also a trip trough memory lane to him. The final emotional scene represents him as a kid and his father when it all ended, the burning of the family photo and the building represents that you need to move on in life and not be stuck in the past. In the end he tells that he listened to his father (there are no borders for your dreams) and refers to him going to the Eurovision Songfestival. So winning would be optional, his goal was participation. It is a bit similar to the style of Little Big, a band that never participated and still has the most views on the Eurovision channel by a landslide.

papa means dad in Dutch. Europapa is
dedicated to his dad which passed away due
to cancer. He was just a little kid 12 years old.
His mom died a year later due to a cardiac
arrest. Writing songs is like a therapy to
dedicate songs mostly to his parents. His
father give him the mindset that there are no
borders. Borders are just invented by people
so dare to think without limits. why don't you
invent your own world. If you want to know
more about Joost Klein you should give
Florida 2009 a shot and Wachtmuziek. Both
are in Dutch but there are lyrics for you can
translate in English. It gives a better
    understanding who he is.

Disgusting, Pro Europe, Burn a windmill which is Hollands culture, this is a very political song, listen to the text good, if this is music this world is doomed, there are already no borders in the EU. Luckily this is not from the 90's. That was great music. This is junk. This shows how bad it goes with the Eurovision.
