Can confirm that it was definitely a struggle! Luckily I was able to get North Carrick. It wasn’t my first choice but it could’ve been a lot worse! Thank you for all the videos of UT that you’ve posted!!! They’ve made me so excited to be on campus this fall!!!!

It could have been worse, it could have been Massey Hall. Best of luck at UT!

I'm an upcoming freshman and omg the housing process has been absolutely horrible for my roommate and I😭 We're currently stuck in Reese hall which is one of our last choices out of all of the dorms and there seems like no way to get into any of the other buildings we want. We signed our contracts in January and ended up getting the last timeslot in our wave, so we're still excited for college, but my gosh this has been such an upsetting system to go through lol

I’m so sorry to hear this! I know how stressful housing can already be, so I hate that it’s been such a tough process with the lottery system. Just know that you will have a great time in Reese despite it being one of your last choices with flexibility and an open mind! Good luck!!!

i’ve done some research about dorms at UTK and i’ve seen dorms that have private bathrooms (brown and the quad private- i dont remember that hall that was) and I was wondering if all the halls were open to freshman or if those private suite types were reserved for upperclassmen? or are freshman mainly placed in the more traditional communal halls?

Hi! Yes, Brown and I believe you are talking about Stokely for the quad private are available for first year students! I actually plan to post a video showcasing a quad private style room in Stokely, so stay tuned for that :)

What do you recommend for grad students/ off campus housing? I’m coming from ut-Martin so I’m worried I’m not going to have an apartment or apartment style housing. I’d prefer living by myself. What do you know about a situation like that?
