I am pretty sure there were a couple of spots in that lap that he could definitely improve.
You can see him shaking his head at his own mistake in the mirror at the 1:02 mark.
@@MassEveNova there's a huge mistake 11 seconds later, at 1:13 you can see he misses the turning point, then goes too wide and puts 2 wheels on the grass...unacceptable when your goal is a record lap.
For sure, he made about three mistakes that cost him half a second or so, I think. Especially pushing out into the grass toward the end.
More than a couple. Every single corner was badly driven. Easy 1.5 secs to he found
Definitely. Seems like a very difficult car to drive fast. There were a few spots where he seemed surprised it turned in well, and others where he went too wide by accident.
I've seen quite a few reviews say the car has pretty awful understeer on throttle.
I like how harmonic the engine sounds. Reminds me of the good old F430.

sound? which sound? it has 3 electric engines and the 488 engine one ...if u want to hear the real ferrari engine u have to drive 458 Italia or 812 superfast ...

Underrated? More like overrated lol, you pay 200K over 296GTB that is Lighter, sounds better, looks better, RWD (Ferrari DNA), also shorter wheelbase, yet have similar power to weight ratio and 100-200km/h timing

Also 296GTB by far sounds and looks better than SF90 (every reviewer who did walk around or attended the launch said so)

That would be interesting...knowing the La Ferrari is much slower than the McLaren P1 and does not have 4WD like the Porsche 918

They won't they will only test it on track they will win on, tracks like Nurburging or Hockenheim have the likes of AMG GT Black Series or Senna or GT2RS MR that SF90 can't beat

@@2jzandys444 I don't think so he'll be slower actually, f1 open wheel racing is very different from road car and other types of racing like gt3, Charles is fast but it needs a guy with more experience in this kind of racing to put a proper fast lap.
@@randyarbuya2156 The difference between driving a GT closed cockpit car on a road course that you'd also race an F1 car on isn't as drastic of a difference to a open wheel driver as something like going from F1 to WRC rally cars so while it may take a few laps for him to understand the car, he is talented enough that he should match this guy's time if not better it once he's gotten comfortable.

The best I could figure out, in 7th gear the SF90 is about 28.5 MPH per 1000 RPM. It looks like it went over 6500 RPM in 7th gear or about 185 MPH on the front straight. That's moving!!!!!
This car is amazing
Damn impressive for a road car. Just about 3 seconds slower than the Ferrari Challenge car, and actually faster than some actual race cars around there. It's about 1 second faster than Nascar. Also to put into perspective I believe the IndyCar record around there is in the 1:09 range.

Yeah, most of the production cars were tested at the Nurburgring specially something like: Porsche, BMW, Mercedes or even a Nissan GTR and so on.
Lovely run but the last pin head I think could have been handled better … one thing I’ve learnt from driving a Ferrari is that it’s not necessary to run over the curbs everytime especially in a “newer” Ferrari… for sure other sports cars yes, still to this date! Surprisingly!!!
To keep one goin the newer models of Ferrari now have such smart turning system that it’s not necessary to drive over every curb … i would love to see how the car handles itself in that type of run … it’s just that we as race track drivers have this drill to hit the curb, which only comes with experience…
You really should at least now show us what the LaFerrari can do on modern tires. The SF90 is an unbelievable car though. Ferrari totally changed the supercar game when they offered hypercar performance for series production at supercar price

Ferraris are just the best, everything else just feels mediocre at best after you drive a Ferrari. People like to compare it to Porsche, but the reality is that Ferrari is just in another league. Lap times, comfort, design, materials, reliability, the whole racing legacy. There is no brand out there that has such a strong package. They are simply the benchmark. German engineering my ass :)

Took too much curb on a couple turns and pushed two tires out into the grass at 1:12, could have been even faster without the mistakes. Very nice!

I wish you'd put a live speedo on the screen to give a proper sense of the driver engagement...I don't know. Maybe it's just be, but without it, I don't care much for such videos.

I think this is the first new car to actually set a time on this configuration. So it's not like theres any times to compare... I ran 1:50s on the longer configuration in a 1987 BMW lol. This does not seem that quick.
Well the SF90 obliterated the Top Gear track record and they’ve raced everything on that.

@@matzepizzaheld8541 Maybe you should do some research and understand how bad SF90 will do on track against cars I mentioned, Top Gear lap times always been misleading cause of different time of the year and conditions tested, GT2RS was running on Cup 2 instead of Cup 2R that's offered by Porsche and also 2R was used on SF90, GT2RS lap was done on very humid hazy day with colder temperatures........
Also there's no such a thing start lap from dig lol, laps always start by having a flying run on start of it, SF90 have no chance against higher downforce cars, Senna generate around 3X the downforce, the likes of Black Series, Valhalla, GT2RS generate 2 times the downforce than SF90......
As for MR, its Porsche own package have nothing to do with Novitec, its owned by Porsche and developed by their MR team, hence it beat production lap record, similar to Track package that's offered now by Black Series owners!
