hey guys, as always, great video. the faces on some of the temples were not chiseled away by other pharaohs, but by early christians as an act of iconoclasm trying to remove, or eliminate pagan religious symbols. some temples also have portions of their hieroglyphics painted over them of the holy family and certain saints, also done by early christians, while others have faces, bare legs and arms of pharaohs or ancient egyptians just chiseled away.

Make sure to stay in historic hotels in downtown and to eat falafel of Alexandria and the speciality of all ages ( chocolate coated dates ) !

I’m planning a trip to Egypt with my husband for October but my biggest fear is getting sick. I have a very weak stomach. What do you recommend I avoid eating/drinking? I’m planning to do a 10 day group tour with an agency.
Hi Cat! Not an expert, because we just tend to eat anything we can get our hands on haha. But the biggest problem is the bacteria in the water in Egypt, which we don't have any resistance to. So avoid fruits and vegetables that you can't peel. Don't eat raw things like salad, tomato, etc. because these have been washed. Only use bottled water and also use it for brushing your teeth, etc. If you do get sick, get local meds as they tend to work better. You will be fine though. Enjoy the trip!
