I call those nice boulders in the stream "old man rocks",a place to sit down and rest...maybe tie on a new rig I'm 70 years old...you have no idea how much I appreciate your energy and exuberance!
I never tire of seeing your videos showing us all that America is bigger than we think and that our wilderness is ready for business. Thanks for the work you do, always interesting.
The best part of Montana is that no one really wades the skinny water so you have it all to your self. Never came accross a single person in 8 days of wet wading in Montana.
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by that? Planning a trip to the bozeman area in July and looking to mostly wade fish. Are you saying most creeks dont get any attention? What is your definition of skinny water?
Such a great trip. The sounds a sights of solitary fishing is so nice to see. You do this right. No sound tracks, just honest nature and a good narrative. I’m shocked you don’t have more subscribers. Looking forward to what you got coming up. ✌️
I love your style of fishing vids, quiet while fishing so can hear the nature sounds and pleasant short talks when speaking. I'm not one to repeat watch vids but yours are exceptional relaxing and therapeutic and worth watching many times over. Thank you for the chill
Great stuff Drew!Did my own version of this many years ago.Awesome memories. Can still smell the woodsmoke, taste the fish and feel the nature and solitude.😊
Love your videos more than you can know, Drew! I'm at home, postponing fishing trips while looking after my sick cat who's dealing with kidney failure. However, when he finally dies, I will be venturing out from Vancouver, Canada and trying out the rivers east and west of Highway 37, the one that connects Yukon with the town of Kitwanga to the south on Highway 16. It's rough country with a million miles of memories to find. Got to do it before I follow my cat. In the meantime, thanks for your show - your joy comes through loud and clear!
Enjoy all the fishing videos for a person that's slowing down from two strokes and possible thyroid cancer being test this week. Keep on fishing as long as you can and hunting did both up till i was 57 ......
Thanks for another great video! I spent all morning fishing in SW Montana, and have this going on my laptop while I clean my garage lol. I couldn't ask for anything better to listen to and keep looking up frantically at when it sounds like you're getting into a good one! Thank you for doing what you do
Hi Drew, what a great video! Just got back from 3 weeks fishing the Madison, Missouri, and Kootenai - up and down the whole state of Montana! Mostly drift boat floating, but the most fun was wading little O'Dell Creek (flows into the Madison. Lots of fat browns under the banks. Your video is a good reminder how much fun it is to wade fish the smaller streams. Keep 'em comin'!
Drew, I live in Bozeman and have been a fishing guide for 40 years. Taking two weeks off starting tomorrow and heading to a few of the rivers you fished in this video. I have to see if fishing is as hard as people make it look when I am guiding them. Thanks for the videos, keep em coming.
Love love love your videos!!! Please talk more about your set up! I’ve been fly fishing for 7 years and tying for 2 years. I try to learn something everyday. Please help!
Just sitting on my porch in Missouri with a glass of whiskey watching deer and turkey out in the field, and of course your video Good to see you with a long video I enjoy them immensely I hope to get to a trout stream here before the summer's over. Love your channel!
I know a couple of these spots in Montana. Thank you for not ever revealing your locations. However I am curious, what do you do for a living if you have 10 days to do a fishing trip. Enjoy!
Just one more outdoor adventure I need to do here in Montana. Lots of water, too little time. Fire restrictions on right now. Looking forward to fall and cooler temperatures and beautiful days.
I assume you are retired? What a life . Thank you drew. It’s great following your adventures. Thanks for letting me tag along. Oh, did you see any bears?
man the hot summer here has hit my home stream pretty hard here in southern b.c. there are no bans in effect but that water is warm and shallow... set the rod up for now.
Wonderful TH-cam channel. My wife and I are headed to Montana in September do you have a list of where you went on this trip you are willing to share with me?
"Goodnight, look how big he is " lmfao......I'm adding goodnight to one of my good/badwords to my vocabulary........that's the second massive bull trout I seen on your channel
I read some of the comments others sent in. Have you thought about adding some educational pieces? Show the flies you use and why you chose those particular flies. Explain nymphing and the techniques you use. My suggestion is to write a book on how to chose the rivers and streams, where you pull your intro from.
Hey Drew, if you had to pick a 2 week time frame in the calendar year to hit Montana next year what would you recommend? Thanks, love the vids, this is my dream to do what you do on these long trips!
Drew seems to really like just those 3 states. Does anyone know where he lives? I live in Washington State and once fishing stealhead on the Skagit River I ran into a guy who towed his drift boat all the way from New York to fish. We drank a beer and told stories and had some laughs. Anyway, I assume Drew lives near, Colorado, Idaho and Montana. Thanks Drew.
Love absolutely love what you do but your videos are still pixilating every 10-40 seconds. I've reviewed so many other outdoors channels that show similar type of footage that don't have this issue! Is there a setting on your camera or your production that is causing this?
😊it’s ok Drew… My biz partner and I are each building a home on 20 acres between Missoula and Helena… We’ll be screwing up the fishing for the locals in the fall…
Judging by your emotionless “no big deal” reaction breaking a 1000 dollar rod, I am not losing any sleep over the passing of your 4wt. Scanning all the very expensive Orvis gear you have, I am betting you are sponsored and get those 1k💰 rods handed over for free like candy 😙. I will use a Echo over a Orvis any day.
Haha...the recon isn't a $1,000 rod. More importantly, I don't promote on my channel and have turned down thousands of offers such as this one from an e-bike company that wanted to gift me a bike and pay me to create a youtube video such as this one below...you've probably seen the e-bike vids that other youtuber's have made recently. I did edit out the f-bomb tho lol! 3rd and most important, I don't lose my mind or overreact bc I realize I'm fortunate to do this...I consider fishing to be a gift...nope you'll never see me acting all bummed about lost fish or broken rods when there are people with real struggles. No need to worry about my integrity. I choose the gear I use bc I trust the brand...NOT for product, cash or sponsorships! Have a great day dude!

Big float state lol
Where all did you go? I’ll be up big horn way soon.
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by that? Planning a trip to the bozeman area in July and looking to mostly wade fish. Are you saying most creeks dont get any attention? What is your definition of skinny water?
Yes, most people float. Get trout routes if you don’t have it and go blue line the class 2 streams in the area. Good luck!
Such a great trip. The sounds a sights of solitary fishing is so nice to see. You do this right. No sound tracks, just honest nature and a good narrative. I’m shocked you don’t have more subscribers. Looking forward to what you got coming up. ✌️

Grew up in Montana and I’m glad the trout and the Big Sky scenery showed you a good time

Отличная рыбалка и хорошее настроение😊

Excellent video
Damn that bull trout!!!
I prefer the feeder tributary aka skinny water too
I assume you are retired? What a life . Thank you drew. It’s great following your adventures. Thanks for letting me tag along. Oh, did you see any bears?
man the hot summer here has hit my home stream pretty hard here in southern b.c. there are no bans in effect but that water is warm and shallow... set the rod up for now.
That chunkster at 8:45 was feisty !
Wonderful TH-cam channel. My wife and I are headed to Montana in September do you have a list of where you went on this trip you are willing to share with me?
Nice videos drew, definitely enjoyed watching.
Thank u!
"Goodnight, look how big he is " lmfao......I'm adding goodnight to one of my good/badwords to my vocabulary........that's the second massive bull trout I seen on your channel
Haha...I'm just a hick with a stick and my vocabulary matches!
We had a cold wet spring that seemed like it lasted forever. Afternoon thunder bumper almost every day.
Wow 😮😮😮
What a trip man
It was incredible!
Hello bro! Great video with beautiful lanscape. Can you tell me the brand of the sunglass and where did you buy it. Thank you.
Keep Living The Dream…..

Moving fish back and forth in the water gets oxygen into their gills, that would have been a good thing for a few that were nearly belly up
Is that 2nd spot “Taylor Fork”?
Drew, are you worried about grizzly bears wild fishing Montana back country? Do you bring any protection like bear spray or a firearm? Thanks
This definitely helps me get through a Melbourne winter and revs me up for the coming season 🎣
Great to hear!
haha, I'm in Melbourne too- doing the same thing, waiting out the cold. :)
Make a trip to GA one day!
Life is good sit back in a chair and have a cold one and be in Gods country.
You heading west any time soon ?
very very nicr
Hey Drew, if you had to pick a 2 week time frame in the calendar year to hit Montana next year what would you recommend? Thanks, love the vids, this is my dream to do what you do on these long trips!
I like anytime after Labor day...less crowded, nice weather, cooler water temps so less stress on fish and you!
Stay away, we're full...

The ducks you saw were common mergansers.
Is that the hellbent net?
If not what brand is it?
When were you targeting te time of year? May, June,July ?
what brand of fly rods do you use
5x to 5x, interesting technique.
I see that you are using zip-ties to attach your net. Are you worried about damaging the fish?
No, the edges are melted so nothing sharp and they never touch that end of the net.
Envious Drew. Love Montana. Did you ever fish Yellowstone on this trip?
Nope still haven't fished it!
Love absolutely love what you do but your videos are still pixilating every 10-40 seconds. I've reviewed so many other outdoors channels that show similar type of footage that don't have this issue! Is there a setting on your camera or your production that is causing this?
Hoot owl restrictions are in effect
From Montana resident... welcome to Montana, now go home
Haha, I hear ya!
😊it’s ok Drew… My biz partner and I are each building a home on 20 acres between Missoula and Helena… We’ll be screwing up the fishing for the locals in the fall…
Must this guy use bobbers.
I have viewed this footage before.
Yea I created the long form vids for those that specifically asked for them. This is the last one from that trip.
Ditch the net, they’re overrated and a pain in the ass to cart around! lol
You really need a new net my friend.
better to avoid 😮😢
You should read the Montana fishing regulations about how many hooks you can use. You CANNOT legally fish three flies. You are trying way too hard!
Look in fishy drew quit bullying the ducks
I've never seen a fish that big in the wild!! Some of the other ones would have looked good in a fry pan. Just saying!!!

Terrific content BUT your too-rapid narration detracts from the viewing experience.
