This is a great exercise. Just ran across Jim's channel by Chance. A ton of great content on here. Well explained and not trying to sell you stuff while you're learning.
your practical approach works so well for me, years ago I took some courses that filled me with a lot of theory, but I never knew how to make it a part of my practical practice, thank you for showing me, all the best
Thank you. Another fantastic lesson! I could follow in Major and Dominant but I imploded in the Minor where I got totally exposed! Dissociating arpeggio and scale proved tricky. Looks like I'll need a daily dose for a while... Happy New Year!
Wow! I really thank you for sharing this material for free. It will help lots of bassists, and me of course! It seems that I'll have to work on this kind of exercises for a long time, but I will like it :)
Hello Jim, thanks for all the love!! I still cant understand the order of notes selected for the excercise... is there a lesson I'm missing? I really like this exercise!!
There are many lesons on my channel using the "Cycle of Fourths." Look in the "playlists." "Play the major scale. What is the fourth note? Use that note for the root of the next scale. "
great lesson as usual, I do however have a question for you, do you have a lesson on the 1st position to play all the scales there? if so please just tell me what lesson it is so I can find it, cheers Bill
@@realbasslessons9356 I would like to know if you teach about playing in the 1st position ( covering the open E F# G G# A and respective strings ) so we can master all the odd fingerings rather than the set pattern playing?
Thank you for the very useful video. I just started in December. I have a question--you say to start on the A string, but the scale you start around the middle of the neck does not have any Cs, I start that scale on the 8th fret of the E. You seem to start on the E of the A string, is that correct?
Jim, the sweetest old man in the world! We miss you!
Oh man Jim, I miss you so! 😢
