I liked this video. I'm leaning toward buying this camera for my first DSLR, and this was very informative. I started to get into photography as a kid with the old SLR cameras. In fact, my first and only SLR camera was a Canon FTB. Practicing with dark rooms, and developing. I remember the go to B&W film was Tri-X 400, or something like that. Anyway, thanks for this video, and I have seen other videos by you that I liked as well. I'm excited about taking up this again as I live in a photo friendly area of the Smoky Mountains.

I am wondering how this 90D compares to the EOS RP and in particular in which use cases one might be a better choice than the other. (travel, everyday carry, hobby).
For example, is the futureproofness of the RF lenses, the full frame sensor, and the lighter body with the USB charging capability more useful than the better battery life, the weather sealing and higher fps of the 90D?

Thanks for the vid, my 90d is on the way. very interesting on the pic style not being recorded in raw data...to clarify, the pic style is in the jpeg only when you record a jpeg in the camera. any post processing of a raw file creates its own jpeg that reflects all the processing and has nothing to do with the pic style carried through in the camera settings?

Is the EOS 90D worth it for astrophotography? I read that it’s high MP count (32MP) creates too much noise.
I just bought my 90D. Why is my menu not the same as yours? I see your camera tab has 5 menu options. I have only 2. Is there something I need to do to get the complete menu set? Thanks in advance.

How do I get a clean HDMI? I change the settings in the camera but no luck.
Casual shooters using RAW are going to be spending lots of computer time producing a jpeg that the camera could have done for you, maybe even better. RAW software can be challenging and there is no need to feel a failure because you shoot jpegs, you are paying for the decades of Canon’s experience built into your 90D.
I wonder if River ever thought of using the cameras he is reviewing to record his videos. That way all of us get a better (practical) idea of the product he is talking about.

I know this comment is a year old, but for anyone else... the EOS 90D can only use the EF and EF-S lenses, the STM/USM will NOT work.

On mine theirs no “picture style menu” where can I find it if it doesn’t automatically pop up in the settings like yours?
Make sure you mode dial is set to M- for manual. If you are shooting in auto, it will not be there.

It's best dslr for money, lens for it are pretty cheap, and you can buy used lens everywhere. And battery in it is very good, sometimes I make 3000 photos on one battery. Mirrorless cameras can't beat that currently.

Your mode dial might be set to auto. Switch it to manual
How do I program the Quick menu settings? My bottom left option is set to MF and I don't know where to change it. 3 day old camera.
