Fury Road was one of the best cinema experiences (and the best 3D movie experience) I’ve ever had.
And shout out to my wife for letting me see it alone in theaters two months after our first child was born 🥰
So the walking is mad max but with zombies
The shout to your wife is so wholesome.
It instantly became an all-time classic!

The best part of these movies: they're pov of the people there. Doesn't matter who's playing Max or Furiosa.

The Max in Fury Road is not the Feral Child from Road Warrior, the Tie-in Comic Books make it clear that He's the same person that appeared in the 1979 original. Beside that fact, in the opening of Fury Road, Tom Hardy is credited as "Max Rockatansky" not simply "Max"

Plus narration in opening says he was cop. "My name is Max. My world is fire and blood. Once, I was a cop. A road warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy... me... or everyone else."

also keep in mind George Miller almost made Fury Road 30 years ago with Mel Gibson and Sigourney Weaver
And Fury Road 'Max' has visions of his children / wife throughout the movie, so that doesn't add up either. Theory doesn't hold water.
I think Tom and Mel Gibson's characters are supposed to be the same max. The voices max hears in the beginning call him by his full name Max Rockatansky.

Fury Road was one of the best cinema experiences I've ever had, and one for the few movies I saw multiple times in the theater. I'll never forget that shot of Max rising from the sand after the firestorm. It was so incredible on the big screen.
Mad Max 2 was the best.
The Feral kid ended up as the leader of the survivors …unlikely but not impossible he becomes “Max”
But Max has a vision of Toe Cutters death in Fury Road. That's not something feral kid could recall.
George Miller has said in interviews that the boy from the road warrior isn't Max.
It is ambiguous. Max pulls from the car in the beginning the furry vest the feral child was wearing in road warrior. Also there's speculation that immortan joe is toe cutter.
But "Breitaugen" Furiosa is good or?

A neat detail at the start of Fury Road shows that Max blood type is O negative, which makes him an universal blood donor, that's why he's able to give blood transfusion without issues
That’s exactly what I was wondering, I’m O positive which means I can donate to all + so I was wondering did the movie mention then that he’s O negative being the universal donor (I presumed that’s why he’s so valuable but was hoping the movie specifically said why) so I’m so glad I read your comment as it’s a really good detail and I don’t remember seeing that 💁🏻♀️

@@ZrodyApo Ah that’s brilliant, thanks so much for letting me know as I haven’t seen it I think since it came out and I’m literally just about to pop it on right now so your timing is so excellent, now I can look out for that detail which I probably would have missed but I really like when movies or shows are accurate with things like this, like being specific about the fact he has universal donor blood type which makes him so valuable, as opposed to some things i see where anyone can give blood to anyone, for some reason that irks me! Though I shouldn’t be surprised they’d do it right, it’s such a glorious movie and I really appreciate details like that! Thank you!

It's the blink and you'll miss it kind of detail, I myself didn't know about it until many rewatch of the movie and seeing some videos about it, the behind the scenes etc...
And this is the kind of details that add so much to the story and the characters, especially in Mad Max with the value of resources and people

The only movie I have ever seen 4 times in theaters. Lived close to a theater at the time and knew the best times to go. Saw it once in 3D for my second viewing. I enjoyed it more and more each time.
Man I really liked your theory, especially with the music box and how quiet Max is. Especially how Max says his own name out loud, he says it as if he’s realizing that’s the name he’s taken on because he’s never really had a name. But according to there comments it’s the same Max.

I’m so glad I watched this, I only ever saw Fury Road at the cinema (feel very lucky i did now) and that feels like so long ago and I never saw the old movies so this is such a good refresher; concise but it feels like it has every detail you’d need plus it’s really made me want to watch Fury Road again to get that experience before Furiosa. This is why Screen Crush is always the best 👌🏼💥

Fury road is a cinematic masterpiece.....one of the best films ive ever had the pleasure of watching and the best action film I've ever watched....cant wait for Furiosa these Namibian cinemas disappointing me though...so sad it wasn't also shot in our beautiful deserts... George Miller is the 🐐

Feral kid sounds right who else would built the same car dress like him in a world wearing all black leather without water = death sentence and the car saying it’s a copy would of thought the rear max would of modified his car has the roads get covered in sand

No. There was an interview with Quentin Tarantino on TH-cam who suggested that it would have been best to continue the narrative of Mad Max were the Feral Child has become the Mad Max character. The whole discussion began because it was sacrilege to even think of recasting Mad Max without Mel Gibson. Which most people agree.

I like the theory of the Mute Boy being the second Max. I recall in another lore video indicating the date tattooed on Max, as more evidence the Mute Boy is Max.

and besides the first film... every single one has been bookended as being an old story being retold. these are archetypal legends. road warrior was told from perspective of feral kid now much older / thunderdome was told from the people that ended up in sydney / fury road was wordburgers of the historymen.

The music box is definitely a callback, but it's not the same music box because it has a wooden base attached to it, and Max doesn't have a boomerang in the night-time scene they showed, it's a Kukri-style machete that he gets from the War Rig
@@notmephisto1375 I don't remember that but Max could've vividly told the kid. Someone mentioned there's a tie in comic proving it's not the kid but I'm not sure it's canon.

When I watched the Furiosa trailer with my kids, one said "hmm, I hope the cgi is not as bad as it seems" and I had an Aquaman 2 flashback and felt true fear
i didn't even hear of this film until like a couple days ago. I'm finally pump for a movie in 2024.

People always fail to mention that a big part of, if not all of the oceans have literally dried up and receded by Fury Road in the Mad Max time line.

Fury road was the first mad max film I saw and it was incredible. I very much enjoyed furiosa to the same level. You can't compare them side by side though as they are very different types of film. Fury road is a chase film and furiosa is a saga. And each are amazing in their own right.
Prior to last week I had only seen Fury Road. I must say Mad Max 1 and The Road Warrior are fantastic. I think I appreciate them more than Fury Road! Also in terms of the timeline I'm pretty sure Fury Road is after Road Warrior but before Beyond the Thunderdome. Notice at the end of Road Warrior Max goes back to find the leader of the gas tribe's modified V8 after he had to blow up his own interceptor. Well in the following years he rebuilt that modified version to match his own. It was his way of clinging on to the past. Cut to Fury Road where he immediately loses it in the opening minutes. Not having seen Furiosa, I'm confused how that will play in given Furiosa said she was born in the green place, but she would have been born pre-war if she was more or less the same age as Max. Would love to know what other fans think.

Actually the theory about the feral kid growing up to be Mad Max was dismissed. Though it is awesome.
George Miller insists this is the same Max from the previous movies and said something like "we did a 'James Bond' with the recasting".
Oh and a Fun Fact: Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron may have clashed on set, but their stunt doubles got along just fine that they later got married.

Holy f at first i thought this was a sequel to previous movie but it's not the author waited 8 years to release the prequel of the first mad max movie and my theory is the big nothing was actually true in mad max game but because furusa had the map on he left arm and she lost she lost path going back home omg and that's why the gas town was already burned in mad max game 🔥

I dont think the ferral kid is the tom Max since in the end he states that he become chief of the northern tribe. Also I feel like the timeline inst straight since road warrior and thunderdome are stories/memories of the children who came across Max and in Fury Road its furiosa memory.

The feral kid being Max is literally debunked in Mad Max 2 when the narrator is revealed to be the child and says at the end "I became leader of the Northern tribes." It's not him.
Emil Minty (who played the Feral Kid) does pop up occasionally in various Mad Max comment sections. Let’s see if he does here.

3:48 that is not a Boomerang, that is a Khukuri.
The one issue with this theory is the interceptor vehicle shown in fury road. It was destroyed in the 2nd film. There's no way the feral kid found another MFP interceptor and modified it to look more or less like Max's old one.
I wonder how much of the Mad Max comics they are going to interpret into the movie… I’ll admit that I haven’t read them yet, so I wouldn’t know when I watch it
Max is Max. He is not the Feral Kid, in Fury Road.
You can even see his hinge/knee support on his left leg (from the other three films)

As much as I’d like to believe that the Mute boy is Max in Mad Max 4, it’s not possible. In Mad Max 4 we can see that Tom Hardy’s Max has illusions of his dead wife and mainly daughter just like the OG Mad Max, so it doesn’t make sense that the mute boy also experienced this, so I say that Mad Max 4 is like a remake of the first movie

Somebody probably already said this but the theory of Max in Fury Road being Max from the originals is inaccurate. He’s not the mute boy because he does talk in Fury Road & during the Fury Road introduction, Max is kinda telling his story as it is during the original films. Nonetheless, I rock with Screen Crush because I’m on the rocket ship of theory right along with you guys! 🤙🏾

Everything from , “I was a cop, I lost my family, my name is Max” it’s safe to say that Tom is Max from the originals or this is a retelling of the story. Instead of assuming that Tom Hardy’s “Max” is a grown version of the mute kid living the same exact story… but you are entitled to your opinion. 🤷🏾♂️
