I kinda feel like Balon Skoll and Shin Hati are the antithesis of Ahsoka. Not Jedi, but also not Sith. Just sort of grey Force users who lean towards the dark side, very similarly to how Ahsoka leans towards the light side. I really enjoyed the first two episodes and can't wait for more.

@@RenzagoNot even that, because their sabers are orange.
Also for the record, gray doesn't exist in Star Wars. Lucas, Filoni, Sam Witwer, Freddie Prinze jr and more have all spoken against that concept.
Ahsoka is fully light side, her disagreeing with the order doesn't make her any less light side, Baylan and Shin are dark side, but that doesn't make them inherently evil, Dooku is a good example of someone like Baylan who uses the dark side for his own goals but still is chivalrous, respectful and honest.

I honestly think the droids stole the show this episode.
Huyang and Chopper are definitely scene stealers.
And once again, I'm very interested to see what the deal is with Baylan and Shin.
Seeing Sabine in her Mandalorian armor again was great too. A near perfect recreation of the armor she wore in the Rebels epilogue.

whilst it is a recreation of that moment... it isnt that actual moment, ahsoka and sabine have clearly already had some time together as both characters reference things that never happened during rebels, so what likely happened is after rebels sabine became ahsokas padawan for a while, stuff happened, ahsoka abandoned sabine, now as she is taking sabine on again as her padawan they recreate that moment in the show at the mural :)

But one day, I realized theres more to it. Theres something else I was meant to do. Ezra's out there somewhere and it's time to bring him home." She stayed on lothal for X years protecting it and the people until Ahsoka showed back up and takes her to go find Ezra. Do you think she would say that and then immediately abandon the planet and people, flying away with Ahsoka for however long and THEN coming back? We already saw the time jump in that montage because Kanan/Hera's son is however many years old and Sabine mentions hera fighting at the battle of endor.
The only thing missing from the scene is the staff Ahsoka had and that could easily have been a choice/Filoni going "I don't know wtf the staff was for in the first place. Get rid of it." I love the constrast between Mandalorian and Ahsoka when it comes to the main characters.
You have the Father and Son relationship between Din and Grogo where Grogo is a Jedi Youngling learning to become a Mandalorian and then you have the Master and Student relationship between Ahsoka and Sabine where Sabine is a Mandalorian learning to become a Jedi. I hope the cross-over movie points this out between the two and their chosen paths.
Also, Eye of Sion...reference to Darth Sion from KOTOR 2 Sith Lords?
Also again, noticed the big theme set up by Episode one is Master and Apprentice. You have Ahsoka and Sabine the good guys. Then you have their dark mirror counterparts with Baylon and Shin. Then potentially there's Thrawn and Morgan? Then we have our Inqusitor whose the odd man out. Hmm...

    Hey, Holden and Jen!
    Another solid episode.
    We get a live-action Chopper!
PETER JACOBSON, the shipyard manager, is a veteran character actor from many shows including "The Lost Room", "House", "The Americans", "Colony", "Ray Donovan" and "Fear the Walking Dead". I don't think he had any Imperial inclinations and was just as surprised as Ahsoka and Hera that so many loyalists were operating right under his nose.
The introduction of this new galaxy and its inhabitants creates many possibilities most especially paving the way for the YUUZHAN VONG INVASION!
That massive hyperdrive ring is to provide the propulsion necessary for extragalactic travel which far outdistances intragalactic travel!
Interesting that Baylan admires Ahsoka and would rather spare her if he could. He still identifies with the Jedi.
Great Marrok-Ahsoka duel! Love her sidestep. I want to know who he is!
The last scene on Lothal matches the epilogue of "Rebels" very closely minus Ahsoka's staff. That means these two episodes took place after "Mandalorian" Season 2 but before the "Rebels" epilogue. The rest of this show predates "Book of Boba Fett" since it occurs two years after "Mandalorian" Season 2 which presents the opportunity to show Ahsoka's first meeting with Luke during the course of this show!

if this is leaning more on mystic/far future magic fantasy themes and follow the tropes then palpatine is with the chiss ascendacy (chiss low key the drow/dark elves of star wars) as a husk on life support pretty much a space lich to be an inch closer to finding a way to become immortal and gain godhood. "why he wants morgan?" again if follow the space lich path and nightsisters knowledge of necromancy pretty much then thats something palpatine wants to know. either steal her powers or she uses nightsister magic to prolong his life.

I'm really excited for the rest of this show. I'm not exactly sure about timelines, but it seems to line up very closely to the Heir to the Empire series, given that it starts 5 years after The Battle of Endor (9 ABY). We might actually get a full on live action version of the Heir to the Empire series, by Timothy Zahn, and The Jedi Academy trilogy, by Kevin J Anderson, with Filoni weaving in the Filoni-verse to fix any continuity errors and expand on storylines.

I get the real-world production reasons, but, looking an in-universe lens, with the mission as stated, neutralizing the potential threat of Thrawn, hopefully rescuing a promising young Jedi, and addressing the issue of Baylan Skoll and the "Dark Jedi" (?), I would have thought this would be something with which Luke would have eagerly volunteered/insisted to help! And seriously, how awesome would *THAT* be?!? Anakin's son and Anakin's padawan fighting together, side by side!!!

Your comments just after finishing is what i like to hear. Story is good, visualy amazing, and enjoys the female led aspect of the show. I'm seeing so many complaints about how slow it is, the acting is terrible and that the force is female because Filoni is daring to give attention to the female characters. This started off great and I'm glad to hear from actual sane people who can point out the pros and cons reasonably. Because there were a few cons.

    • @MrBazBake

The show's slow because the editing for the dialogue in Filoni live-action is always... so... slow...
      "Hi Ahsoka."
      "............Hi Sabine....."
".............Do you have a mission for me?"
      "...............................Maybe."
Watching the show's dialogue scenes with good editing from Holden's channel completely changes the quality of the show. And you can see Jen yawning constantly trying to get through it. 😂

    • @ahsokarules2369
      @ahsokarules2369 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@MrBazBake Or, she was tired. And the dialogue is to the point and we have scenes where we don't need speaking. When Ahsoka and Sabine reunited, all we needed was the awkward silence between the two. No prolonged talk before Ahsoka said she may have found Ezra. They themselves commented on how they liked that the dialogue was to the point and many other reactors. These are characters that know each other for years through Clone Wars and Rebels and the mass majority of fans are the same. So, we know them, we don't need to spend time on prolonged dialogue. This showcases how well the characters know each other and the audience know these well developed characters from past shows.

My lil theory i posted one other place is that I think thrawn and ezra are dead. The clip of thrawn is a flashback to the scene where they got taken by the whales. Elsbeth is being manipulated into opening a gateway and fleet straight to death. The witches originated in the other galaxy but have weakened during the lost millenia, easy prey now for an intergalactic threat of psychically physical destruction, weilders of the force before jedi ever came up with it. Unsure if the enemy is alien or ancient humans who didnt flee/migrate to rhis galaxy... Invasion is imminent.

Sabine Wren recovers from her stabbing relatively quickly because lightsabers cauterize the wounds they make...that and bacta tanks are super effective (while we don't actually see her in one it's logical to surmise that she did spend some time in one).

I don't think she was going for a killing blow while Maul definitely was, especially since if she was, why not just move the blade to the right after the stabbing instead of pulling it straight out. Sabine got RAPID medical attention while Qui Gon got to lay on the floor for 10-15 minutes while baby face Kenobi sliced and diced Maul. I wish the lightsaber stab hadnt happened though
100% on the ezra thing. if it's Ezra in anyway, he's a clone, since we know the cloning force sensitives is something being worked on. Which ties into Bad batch and the mandalorian.
