Ban MPs!
Yeah that will free our country of idiots
Proposed replacement institute?
A crèche.
Black market cigarettes will just take over 😂🤦♂️
already have mate, just want an excuse to fund a new police task force
They're either stupid or they don't care. EIther way, they're going to get a lot less money through tax now from smokers. I've been using black market ever since they increased the tax. Now those who have the money to pay that extra money will instead have no choice but to get black market.
Better than it being legal. Black market will price gouge, less people will purchase, people will be less incentivised to do it due to risk of being criminalised and less people from future generations will adopt it
What happened to the royal college of physicians and the 98% safer than smoking study?
@@davidshepherd8917 What is absolutely hilarious about the UK trying to ban smoking is that in the USA since 2021 we are moving to INCREASE smoking by making marijuana legal. As of 2024 marijuana or cannabis is now a $40 Billion industry with 15,000 legal dispensaries and it is expected to grow to $115 Billion by 2030. The number of adults who smoke has risen from 7% in 2013 to 13% in 2024, and is expected to gradually increase to about 20% of the population by 2035. So, what is the UK going to do when to get a trade deal with the USA, there might be a demand to legalize cannabis in your country?

What do The Tories know about health. They just tried killing all our babies by preventing them from having whooping cough (Coupvid 19)?
Are we ban drinking too ? Liver cancer going up too. ?? Or what about plastic that's in the food chain... ??
They’re going to ban the Nirvana Fallacy next, so there’s no point in banning anything.
One can only hope. The binge drinking "culture" in the UK is probably the worst thing about it for me. Drunk retards all over the place at all times.
We should ban alcohol. There is absolutely zero benefit.
@@ThelastShepherd. Trying to eliminate the leading cause of preventable death in this country seems like a wise thing to be on the Prime Minister's agenda, amongst other things of course.

So did the houses of Parliament keep their smoking room

Not a problem as long as it stays there.
My guess is, the tobacco industry just doesn't pay well enough to have the vote in their favour anymore.
They are more invested in vapes now since it's cheaper buying and mixing chemicals together then growing tobacco plants.
'free them from nicotine addiction' lovely bit of spin there. 'free them by taking away their freedom' doublespeak
They did the same thing with seatbelt enforcement, the road death stats showed it helped.
People complained en mass back then, that doesn't happen now

I don’t even smoke- but I’m APPALLED that more and more freedoms are taken away from people EVERY YEAR in the UK. And ironically by the very people ALLEGEDLY there to serve the publics wishes. These freedom takers do not represent me, nor anyone else who values the small freedoms we have left in this country.
New Zealand just backtracked on their smoking ban. I don’t see it lasting.. 😂😂😂
The Party that were in opposition at the time of the ban repealed it when they got in power but it sounds as if this ban has decent support from the UK labour Party.
but the pathetic british public, will do as they are told. no backbone.
People will get them from somewhere, the difference is now it will potentially not be taxed.. absolutely brainless ban
Also black market cigs can have anything in them so it's not for public health this is about control plain and simple.
“People will get them from somewhere”
Yea, but less people will. And future generations will have a much higher likelihood of never using them in the first place.
It can’t be taxed, ok but we’re saving on paying for the issues caused by smoking in the NHS. Then there’s the added income tax value added by people who now live longer than if they carried on smoking or get introduced to it.
Black markets will form but not everyone will utilise it. Prices will be gouged and less people will afford it.

So what happens in 15 years time when shopkeepers have to age verify people aged 30+? Seems to me it’s going to be totally unworkable and the poor shopkeeper is going to be the one to suffer the fines. If they want to do this it needs to be illegal to buy cigarettes, not sell them!

It's not too far off that now ...........
More likely, the shop will stop carrying them as the hassle won't be worth it, similar to how cigarette machines vanished from pubs after the age limit to buy went up to 18.
Top priority should be getting the nhs on track not smoking more people are dying in are hospitals from not being treated in time from other problems

Another slap in the working class face
The lawyers of the cigarette companies will unpack the law, pass the information onto the R&D team and an alternative product, as close to the original but within the confines of the new law will be created. E-Cigs were almost a pre-emptive response to this. I struggle to see how importing third-world men is okay, forcing experimental drugs on people is fine, tinkering with what goes into our food and atmosphere is super chill but people buying a pack of ciggies is wrong and needs legislating against.
Everyones taxes are going through the roof woohoo
Report It correctly. It Is NOT a smoking ban. It Is a ban on selling tobacco to a certain age group which Is something entirely different. If someone who Is not allowed to buy tobacco obtains It by whatever other means, they are NOT banned from using It and will not face any prosecution.
It's the concept mate.
Isnt that already the case ?? There is an age limit on buying tobacco products
@@aidiess Yes and from what I can ascertain the ''Ban'' does not mean usage of tobacco just the purchase of. So I stand by what I said It's NOT a ban It's just banning people buying tobacco. If someone else gets It for them they are and still will be legally allowed to use It, just like now.
For now
