yeah probably true... but the truth is also that the blackmarket would take care of cigarettes... which brings many people in contact with Drug dealers, who might have negative impacts on peoples whole life getting into other drugs easier if they already interact with the blackmarket or even just making the "wrong" friendships in these areas .... and lots of cash is burnt bc no one pays taxes for cigarettes.....aaand the police and the courts need either to increase staff, or they cant take care of few other things for those "drugcrimes" ooor they just ignore those "small" crimes bc they r not worth the paperwork etc which makes those laws redundant anyway.... only that the money is now filling the pockets of criminals all over the world instead of GB pockets....

How about stopping illegal asylumseekers? Asylum seekers need to go to the FIRST SAFE country: that is what the Dublin agreement states, so anyone coming from France is immediately disqualified and should NOT be pampered on tax payer money ! Unacceptable that practice is and letting people wait for months and years on a decision is also inhumane. Further, any asylum seeker holidaying in the country they fled, should be considered in breach and not allowed to return ! Why not tackle illegal asylum seekers and the NHS: that is where the money is, and the NHS is now donating money to foreign causes: HOW crazy can this get. First diversity nonsense instead of helping people, then firing medical personnel that refuses an experimental drug and now this nonsense ! These NHS decision makers should be fired !

I really want to know how they're going to enforce this. I can't imagine shop keepers in 16 years' time IDing every person buy cigs aged 30 to 40, just to make sure they aren't breaking the law.

Iv smoked for 12 years . I started when I was 14.. and from 14-18 I never had a problem getting someone to buy them for me. You either ban tobacco products all together or don’t and let people make their own decisions. Drugs are illegal and look where the world is. It will be the next black market seller.
Ofc people will be selling them illegally, but the overall use of them should still go down as not everyone will be bothered to go through that effort to get them

Smoking cigarettes is a very British culture. Thank God that I don't smoke anything. I am an immigrant from Jamaica and smoking is not popular in my culture unless you are a rasta then they smoke as apart of their religion.

Excellent news but still changes made I work in retail and smoking related products are on shelves and sad to say so many school children come in and take without paying e.g papers filters and lighters then the same for vapes all these products should be sold like cigarettes from Velindre a counter about 50 % of out thefts on theses products are kid under 15

In theory this is a good idea but in reality there is already an age limit for cigarettes and people below that age can get hold of cigarettes so all that's going to happen is people will buy cigarettes for the people that can't buy them so you'll have 55 year old buying cigarettes for a 54
Simple anyone who smokes pays for their care I guarantee that would stop the addiction 🤣
