the thing with jon mess is that he starts and ends his vocal runs on beat but everything in between is at his own rate for sure. its honestly quite impressive to me. but i can fully understand why it would turn most people off.

  • @matthewschurbert2244

Jon mess has such a uniqueness to his voice, anybody can hit highs and lows yet somehow Jon does it without losing that original sound, fucking raw talent. I also think it's hard to follow on beat because his lyrics are pure shenanigans 🤣

That's probably why I love Jon Mess, he doesn't follow the standard rhythm you hear every other screamer out there. You guys should react to Secret Band and see if you feel the same.

Cleanest intro you guys have done yet. Careful Nath, too many puns like Johnny and you'll start to turn into him.
I love how progressive this track is. It has so many different melodies through it and its such a nice touch. Makes the song sound constantly new and has so much energy. This is my first time ever hearing this band and I'm happy to have heard them now.
In regards to Nik's comment, its a thing he does for the Friday night streams that him and his following kinda came up with. Songs that the chat agrees are really good he will tag with that. Its like a trope I guess, not sure of the correct definition. It not meant to be anything serious really, just kind of a fun thing. He gives them better credit in the actual reaction he does during those Friday night streams.

LOVED your reaction of the high pitch vocal magic, I'm rewatching that over and over again :P And this song is one of my favorites from Eidola's new album. Jon Mess style and vocals in this reminds a lot of the style he has in his side project "Secret Band", which is basically DGD without Tillian.
I also disagree about the timing thing, I think it flows really nicely. You should check out Prisoner by Dance Gavin Dance and especially the ending with Jon where he's doing more like rap-screaming which I think sounds amazing!

  • @calebevans3690

I get what you’re saying about Mr. mess...but it’s just kinda wrong. He is on time with everything, it’s the reason a large part of his lyrics are “nonsense”. Personally, my all time favorite screamer.
The best way I can describe it is shake you’re head all around, side to side but the down beat (putting your chin to your chest) you’ll match after listening a time or two.

Jesus took 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and prayed over it then fed it to thousands of people by miraculously multiplying it. Part of the Gospel which is to show why the disciples believed Jesus was the Messiah. Along the lines of turning water into wine, healing the blind, raising the dead, and walking on water. It was an account for Jesus' divinity.
Whether people believe it or not, that's up to them. I have no clue.
