That beginning guitar riff, Sam's screams and the synths in the background remind of the song Nihilist from All Our God's album. This sounds like something Tom would've written.
We were not bored of how they were sounding. Don't speak for everyone. What is boring is doing the same album over and over... and over again. Not to say I don't love these two recrnt tracks. But the past two albums were amazing and I'm sure the next one will be as well.

Had two or three sleepers, but all in all more variety than previous albums. Maybe the songs were worse, but variety wasn't lacking.
