Their singer works at my local gym, so I’ve talked to him a time or two. He’s super cool, and so I’m super glad to see them starting to grow and gain attention.
He told me that he is now an official member of Dance Gavin Dance, and they just finished recording their new album a little bit ago so we have that to look forward to.

@@bogdanhxc He had been their touring guitarist since 2015. Dance Gavin Dance have wanted to add him as a permanent member but he has always declined, but now he accepted. He was the features in the songs Evaporate and Nothing Shameful
The Architect is tied with Darko for my AOTY. I can't decide quite yet, but everytime I listen to The Architect front to back it gets even better.
Those r both very great albums but the contenders for AOTY r- (1) ERRA (2) BORN of OSIRIS (3) PHINEHAS
Hard same. For a year of some of the best albums from bands, The Architect is a perfect masterpiece from start to finish.

It's my AOTY so far. I've been following these guys for a while now. I'm a huge post-hardcore fan and I just love "swancore". Each and every song on this album is enjoyable for me personally, so that's when I know an album is truly a personal AOTY. Also the rhythm guitarist does the screaming. There's not screaming on every songs off The Architect, but almost.

The Architect is definitely my album of the year! Such an amazing record all the way through. Also, not all the songs are this up and down with the structure haha. And their rhythm guitarist Matthew actually does screams on the rest of the album along with their previous ones
I've just gotten into these guys over the past couple of weeks and I'm loving them. It gives me some post hardcore/math core vibes mixed with The Mars Volta.
fun fact: if you didn’t know, andrew wells, (the singer for eidola) was the one that did the feature on DGD’s “nothing shameful”! so eidola returned the favour i guess🔥

Eidola has a vastly underrated backlog. They're a low roar of a band (and do have to screaming in the past) in the vein of A Lot Like Birds in a way. A great sound and a lot of talent, but just didn't blow up for whatever reason.
Intricate music never really breaks out. It takes too much brain power to listen to. The average person just wants shit that’s easy to digest; like pop.

YEEESSS LET'S GO, man if you like the chaotic structure I highly recommend you listen to Houses Movement III: Rust/Rebuild. That song is by far my favorite song by them, and by far the most chaotic they have imo. The whole album "To Speak, To Listen" is amazing. Man I can't stress how happy I am that you finally checked them out lol

Kinda like DGD, you say? Well, Eidola's lead vocalist, Andrew, is now the rhythm guitarist in DGD, and the featured vocalist, Jon Mess, is the unclean vocalist for DGD. So there's definitely a connection.

Since you mentioned that the vocals remind you of Dead by April, you should listen to Caustic Prayer off of Eidola's new album and compare part of the chorus to Losing You's chorus.
Andrew is swole as hell and The Architect is in my top 5 AOTY list and Mutual Fear has to be my favorite song off the record and their guitarist Sergio Medina is their second vocalist and he screams. Also would love to see an album reaction to The Architect and would also like to see your reaction to the new 156/silence single 'The Wrong Sense'

thus is experimental metal with post-hardcore and metalcore influences. this and 2 other songs from the album are heavy the rest is slower but with good riffs
The Architect is so so so unbelievable. Eidola does not put out anything bad. Their previous albums are amazing too.

It's a good album by them. It's definitely a fun and enjoyable listen, but not a AOTY contender for me. Huge Protest the Hero influence in their sound in my opinion

This sound is hard to get right. Many have tried and many have failed. It's either too much going on, vocals too high, or riffs too boring. This time it was finally done pretty well
