and one thing we learn Shun first relationship is with a 30 year old, when he only 18... can't imagine that power dynamics and the impact of that kind a relationship to a basically teenager
THIS!! People brush this off so much and sometimes am like, "Am I the only one seeing how horrible and toxic that must have been?" Scratch that, that's straight up predatory.
@@dominiquemelissa7613 it's combination of ep 2 and 8 i believe... Shun said his first boyfriend is 30 y.o and he also said he first serious relationship he had is when he 18... SOOO.... yeahh
I am glad that you guys talked about on why Shun is the way he is and a huge amount of empathy needs to be done in order for us to see Shun’s view on things.
Omg, thank you for bringing some emotional intelligence into your analysis of Shun. It absolutely makes sense that someone who has experienced all that Shun has experienced would still be struggling to make sense of it all.
It's so nice how you guys managed to understand Shun, I saw a lot of people being extremely harsh towards him but for me at the moment he opened up and talked about his situation, everything became clear and understandable.
In an interview Shun revealed that his favorite movie is The shawshank redemption because is the first movie he ever saw at the age of 16… the first movie the orphanage showed them… at the age of 16… And he said that with that movie he realized that it was not normal to ask permission every time you wanted to go to the bathroom… at the age of 16… 💔 At that moment I realized that he has lived a life that I will never understand.
This is such a reasonable take on Shun and DaiShun. It’s not that hard. Also in the same conversation he tells Dai he never learned common sense and so his behaviour obviously will differ from the norm sometimes. In an interview he said he learned from a movie that you dont usually need to ask for permission to go to the bathroom because its what he did his whole life where he lived. Like that is crazy when you think about it.
I legit cried when he spoke about the bathroom thing. I don’t even think Dai knew that. Cause Dai’s face was one of surprise. Someone also pointed out how he wipes down the kitchen with just one napkin and even cleans himself with it. (When he speaking to Ryota about Dai’s nudes) & I’ve always believed he must have other quirks cause Dai straight up asking him why he was the way he was. Cause you just don’t randomly ask that to anyone.
07:45 girl I have some news for you lmao i heard he left brazil when he was 2 and never came back, but he definitely grew up around brazilians. it's actually impressive how he's so connected with this side of his culture and how he's so proud of it when he probably has no memory of the country.
I cannot wait for you to reach the episodes that made the fandom (and Shun) fall in love with Dai because to be honest aside from Shun, he was also severely misunderstood by viewers during the earlier episodes.
20:34 about that....shun said the first movie he saw was at 16 which kinda lets you know he didn't see any straight OR gay representation ANYWHERE...he really had to sort of learn everything from scratch at the age of 18 after leaving the orphanage
and after leaving the orphanage he was basically groomed by this 30yo dude which made things worse for him...he went through sooo much you are so correct EVERYTHING he does is justifiable in my eyes
23:00 STRAIGHT FACTS 1st time I see someone address this. Something that I have thought of since the beginning. He’s a very good looking guy. He might have men and women constantly hitting on him. So yeah you have this guy coming at you (with nudes on his phone & a guy he previously hooked up with under the same roof) Ohh yeah you would be WHAT ARE YOUR TRUE INTENTIONS HERE!!! In a follow up show Shun was actually surprised even to the verge of tears when he realized Dai was truly genuine towards him since day one.
Thanks for the recap, guys. Correction: Alan is the one who suggested that they use the proceeds from their daily coffee truck sales to help buy chicken for Usak's diet, and then Shun agreed.
3:29 Since y’all spilling tea I feel like like we should get a Suspect Running challenge 😂 I’m really hoping whatever the prediction was it’s wrong.. Between this reaction and Love in the Big City y’all feeling real clairvoyant 🤔😏
Hi.. I want to recommend the best Taiwanese drama that I watched recently. the title is 'Unknown' This drama really drained my emotions. I can't forget their chemistry. very good to watch 👍🏻 I want to watch it again with you 🙏🏻❤
No Brasil costumamos cumprimentar as pessoas com abraços, mesmo se acabamos de conhecê-las, e meio que uma tradição dos Brasileiros por isso o Allan chegou abraçando os garotos.
I love this show to death and adore every contestant, but in my opinion, Shun shouldn't have been cast. It's very clear from how he addresses his past that he was basically groomed when he arrived at Tokyo, first relationship with an older one and then the last one that left him very untrusting. Every time he brings up he's backstory I'm screaming at the screen for him to go to therapy Edit: still blame the casting crew for bringing him in the show
He is the one who should been cast ..he was so alone and starving for people coz he had no one , leaving with the 9 men gave him a family that he wanted ..when they sent him the invitation he said no first , but fate made him accept it in the last time (acc to their interviews).. Psychologists were with them during and after the show for all of the men not just him (acc to the producer )..because of the show he grows up and learns to comminucate, he gets bigs brothers (tae and Alan ) best friend (ryota)and a husband (dai )..now he is sooo happy ,growing healty and comminucate to much So no one deserved to be there more than him!!! Many ppl have trauma , you cant say they cant be there ..its a real life , real ppl , and that why i liked the show
Totally disagree. He is a rare type of participant for dating show but cuz of that it’s so fascinating! And let be honest - he made this season! And as a result, the show helped him find love and understand himself a little bit better!
So people who have emotional issues cannot have companionship/relationships? What kind of logic is that? Are the other contestants devoid of their own issues? Are they perfect partners guaranteed to not have their own trauma responses? Is Shun any less deserving of finding someone he loves/likes because he also has a past to deal with (which is no fault of his own). This is so bizarre. Shun can get to therapy any time, with or without a boyfriend by his side because these things are not mutually exclusive. I'm tired of this take.
@@givemecaffeine2342 Hmm just to add another persepective, I don't think he shouldn't have been cast because he's "undeserving" of being on the show. Personally I don't think he should've been cast because he didn't deserve to have his coping mechanisms and descisions (that were all born out of his past traumas and overall life experiences) picked apart and disected like fodder by thousands of unsympathetic people around the WORLD who, at the end of the day, are just watching a reality tv show. Now of course there are people watching who do have the emotional intelligence to undertsand why he makes the choices he makes but not nearly enough as there should be for someone so young and in such a vulnerable place. The show didnt create anywhere near enough moments for the most unsympathic of audience members to understand Shun on a deeper more empathetic level imo. Anyway just thought I'd add a different perspective on this particular take, because I think it should be considered especially with the way reality shows chew up and spit out contestants/cast members.
