I relate to this song so much because my father would always speak for me and tried to keep me small and dependent by emotional abusing me and my siblings and extremely high expectation as well as punishment fir not reaching them. Since I am now slowly recovering from all he said and did this song has become an huge anchor for me. Music is the on thing that I can always count on. (PS. Love from Germany. You have an amazing voice.)
I also relate to this as well, because I was treated like property and sometimes I was almost lost composure and emotional control. So with this song, it was therapeutic to sing out loud my true feelings. Yes, high expectations from parents are really common especially in my case but I have to take grit to stand for my own principles and instincts since I'm already old enough~ Proud to have heard your story while listening to this version I made!
