    I thought Ben was the natural one in front of the camera. I’ve been a long term sub of his. But you’ve also got a great presence and natural charisma in front of the camera. Some really great tips on this video. Keep up the great work and you’ll be up there with Ben in no time at all Sarah!!!!!

    Thank you for this video! Watching your repeats on the hill brought back all my good memories from a 10K race I ran in the park a few years ago. That’s a stiff hill for certain!

    Winter where I live and I only have time to run before work.
    My pre-run prep, hitting snooze on the alarm three times, the. Drink all the coffee I can find before shuffling out into the rain.
    Happy days!

      Place and Parks if anything. 😉
      This girl is a natural, the camera loves her.
      She's not only a badass but also entertaining, funny, informative and, let's face it, it doesn't hurt being super cute and having the million dollar smile.
      The channel is set to explode in popularity if she uploads videos regularly.

    I'm doing the CW50 too - it'll be my first 50-miler, but have now signed up for the SDW50 also. Sounds daft, but the biggest improvement in my training was when I started doing Joe Wicks at the start of the lockdown, as i'd always done 'just running' before with no cross training. The effect it has had on my heart rate recovery after hills has been remarkable - highly recommended! :)

    I'm running the SDW50 in April. It'll vey first ultra and I'm really looking forward to it! I've heard Centurion really look after their runners.
    Unfortunately I won't be able to recce any of the course as I live Manchester way, but there's plenty round here to emulate the terrain.
    Hard to know what time time/pace to have in mind as I've not been that far before.
    Looking forward to following your training in the build up for CW50!

    Great vlog! I actually feel motivated to stop avoiding the hills around my house lol.
    I know it's basically the opposite of what you're currently training for, but could you share some info about how you broke 20 for the 5k last year? How long did it take to go from 20:28 to 19:40? I already watched a couple of videos about the topic but they were all by men, so I'd be very interested to hear a woman's perspective since it's a bit harder for us to achieve the same results.

    • @lukehewko260
      @lukehewko260 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I know you don't necessarily want more man advice, but since I JUST went from 20:08 to 19:15, I can say that increasing my cadence and weekly mileage slightly made all the difference in the world!

    • @TheFlipsie
      @TheFlipsie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lukehewko260 That's awesome, congrats! Any advice is appreciated. My cadence is already pretty high but my stride length is a bit on the short side, so I guess I should work on that.

    • @SarahPlace
      @SarahPlace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      hey breenie, i ran 20:28 in feb 2019 and then 19:39 in october 2019 but it was never something i was solely training for, it just kind of happened while i was getting fit for longer distances.. but yes i will do a video on going sub 20 in the 5k soon!!

      @SarahPlace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ah thank you! i don't think we will as every ultra is so different and therefore it's quite hard to produce an "off the shelf" kind of plan but as long as you make your training fairly specific to your race (terrain, conditions, elevation etc) with a couple of back to back long runs and some strength work then you'll certainly be on the right track. good luck!

    I would love to run a ultra race one day but my longest is a half marathon at the moment. And my average week is 30k so very long way to go and I don't even know if I will ever be able to do it but that's where dreams are for..

      Sarah Place I thought they were only giving them out to the pros, can only find them for 300+ lol

      Thomas Bolt The Pro Elite verions are only given to nike athletes (also available on ebay by athlethes who have ”lost” them). The aeroswift replicas has been on general sale for a very limited time this year and are also sold on ebay for like 300 usd.

      Martin Larvia I’m not the biggest fan of this years so I doubt I would of bought it anyway, my favourite has to be 2017

      Thomas Bolt Agree! That 2017 version was a work of art! Managed to get the replicas of this years version and also this years NN running team version for retail price. For 80 usd they are totally worth it. Not so much for 300+.
