    Looks like an awesome project. Cleco pins work great for clamping all of the panels together to get the fit right before welding them up. Check them out if you have never used them.

      Thank you Rick! Ah thank you for the suggestion of Cleco pins! 🧷 Definitely need to put some of those to work on the next!

    I did a 69-70 fastback and those years look harder because the door glass, rear glass, and windshield are all different from the coupe and fastback. Once your mustang goes into one color you’ll never know you frankenstanged the car, good job.

      Love it! Thanks so much for that. I can imagine the variations from coupe/fastback on a 69/70 are much different. Would love to see more of what you did on that.

      Never understood the fascination with fastbacks. Only a midget or kid can sit in the back seat, and only a short driver can fit in the front.

    Wow, I’m upset how good it looks. *I will not chop up my coupe, I will not chop up my coupe* Yep it’s sure is awful! Awful good looking!

      I hear you! I love coupes! But this was a great candidate for the conversion. Thanks so much!

    Nice Video
    The time lapsed teardown was well done for explanation and demonstration without hours of noisy grinding and sawing
    Well Done
    Thanks

    I've always liked the looks of the coupe over the fastback. I have a modern Mustang (called a coupe but looks more fastback) that I really wish looked more like an old coupe. So I think if I had an old fastback Mustang that I was restoring, I'd want to be going the other way: fastback --> coupe.

    Bro thanks that was a great video … if you can’t easily get a donner back end can you buy 2 separate outer quarters and a roof outer skin? Or is the inner on the roof panel different ? Love from 🇬🇧🇬🇧

  • @TheGeonam
    @TheGeonam 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you use a plasma cuter you can burn a hole through the spot welds followed by a chisel

    You’re selling this conversion as a shell?! Great opportunity for someone there!

    • @FollowTheBuilds
      @FollowTheBuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really is. If you can find a Fastback for decent price out there it will need sheet metal due to rust. This insures rust is treat and that someone has a good platform to build their dream car.

    Wish I had the skills to do this cause the only 60s mustang I have a chance at affording is a coupe

      I made a video on how I converted a 1968 Mustang coup to a fastback for $6k. It’s possible! th-cam.com/video/LHAEDTKOsgI/w-d-xo.html
