8:15, lorry driver is 100% at fault not the car driver who was trying to exit the roundabout, truck driver failed to give way to traffic approaching from the right.
This is a common occurrence with left hand drive HGVs from the continent. There's a very poor view to the right from the driver's seat, so something to be wary of. Blaming the driver of the car in this instance is clearly wrong as it signalled to leave the roundabout at just the right time.
@@davet2555 Exactly, the car is indicating to come off the roundabout way too early and the lorry thinks the car is exiting before it does. I see a lot of people do this, they either indicate way too early or not at all..........
2:40 what a bizarre driver, camera car did the correct thing by going around the island to overtake tho guess that triggered this bizarre driver somehow
1:02 person said the lorry couldn't see the Corsa. No, that's a blind spot for lorries, you should never ligure around their doors you are literally underneath their mirrors and the door is blocking their view. That's why on some of the new lorries they have a window on the lower part of the door. If your in this dead zone either accelerate quickly past it or drop back so they can see you. People who drive and hesitate on decision are some of the most dangerous.
Exactly this Tony. The Corsa essentially undertook the lorry to get to that position - and as you said, it's possibly the worst place to be. However, an HGV driver should be aware of that exact danger and, as the comment in the video said, watched that mirror for a longer period following that road join.
They probably meant that the lorry should've seen the Corsa approaching from the slip road in their mirror before they came up alongside them and thus should've been aware that the Corsa was somewhere near them.
The aggressive driver with fog lights on his car is playing it 2 ways, either to hide his number plate in the glare for NPR cameras or " honest I was braking, you can see my brake lights" for speed cameras!
Part of the tangential fun of these vids is the "ooh, yes, I know that roundabout/bit of road very well. Been round it, or along it many times.." etc:)
See so many self righteous like this even weeks after any fog. Totally unaware of their surroundings theres even a dash light, sure they do it on purpose. Just shove your full beam on, no difference!

7:05 agreed, there is a similar road I go on everyday (A55 joining A494 northbound) and it’s even shorter than that. It’s one road that use to make me nervous, cars bombing down at 70 and you don’t have much room to join.
Being a motorcyclist over the years I've become very good at situational awareness, don't ride in the blind spot, don't ride by the side of a van or hgv, overtake PDQ, everyone is out to get you, especially drivers with Webcams, they are law unto themselves
@@noka79 yes many people, do have cams (as I do) because of stupid irresponsible drivers, however when you review their videos, many, not all put themselves into the position of having an accident just to get a video
@shrory I entirely agree. Motorcyclists develop a 6th sense of what is about to happen. Recently in Telford, riding my bike I was approaching temp traffic lights with a queue of stationary traffic, having positioned myself near the centre of the road. Small white van in front of me was pulling up short of the back of the traffic queue. "He's going to U-turn" I thought & sure enough, he did, across my path without checking if there was anything behind. I'd left enough gap for the eventuality & was able to stop. His "Sorry Mate, I Didn't See You" (SMIDSY) wouldn't have helped me if I'd finished up in A & E would it?
At 6.46, I think that the car driver acted just as we all would act if someone rode into the back of our car, he was just getting the information for the cost of the new light that would be needed. I have had this happen to me but the cyclist was too quick, jumped on his bike and just rode away leaving me with the bill for a new light. This is why I think that cyclists should carry registration plates and a third party insurance, if the accident is the car drivers fault, he would most certainly have to pay for the damage to the bike.
We see hit and runs with vehicles that have lincence plates all the time, so what's your point? And if police can be bothered to track them down, then they can always come up with the excuse of "not being the one who was driving". So that argument is really useless.
@@wohlhabendermanager the police do track the driver down if they have the registration number, it is just about the easiest bit of policing that they can do and then they charge the driver with failing to stop after an accident and if bikes had plates, we would at least have a chance of finding out who they are. As for the question of them saying that they was not driving, they would have to tell the police who was and if they refuse, they would have a separate charge to answer to.
@@honestchris7472 No, they track the OWNER down. that's something different. Granted, I don't know UK law too well, so I might be arguing with a false premise here. But that's exactly how it works in Germany. Police can track the owner down, owner can say "it wasn't me, and I don't know who was driving" and then there's nothing more the police can do. Putting licence plates "and insurance" on bikes is counterproducitve. First of all, there's only a very tiny fraction of incidents in the first place. The vast majority of accidents are car vs car. So your argument really is nothing more than a straw man, really. Then, it's a very huge administrative effort to register all bikes, get insurances going, etc. Not to mention the costs. Consider a family of four, just barely making ends meet. Do you think they would pay for a licence plate on a bike + insurance for the kids, or would they simply take the bikes away and drive them around in a car, because in the end that would be cheaper? I get that motorists are somewhat jealous of how easy it is to own and operate a bike. But please don't let that jealousy cloud your judgement. You think repair costs for cars are too high? Well, then it's not the cyclists who are to blame.
@@wohlhabendermanager Of course the police track down the registered owner and from then, the owner has to give the name of the driver, if they refuse they are obstructing the police and that is another offence, they also run the risk of being blamed for the accident but the main point is that the driver of the car that was damaged will now have an insurance to claim from to cover the repairs. Why is putting registration plates and insurance on bikes counterproductive? the accidents caused by untrained cyclists is far from being a tiny fraction, in fact with the increase in cycling because of the so called global warming, the problem will just grow. Tractors on roads have to be insured and that is almost an insignificant number. The cost of registration and insurance should be accepted by everyone, just the same as I have to pay for my car, people have to pay for motorbikes, scooters and in fact every vehicle on the road except for bicycles. When a cyclist crashes into your car causing hundreds of pounds of damage and then just ride off into the night, you would want to know who they were so that you can claim from them and if they don`t have insurance you could take them to court to get compensation, does that not seem fair to you? I am not jealous of people that own and operate bikes, if I wanted one, I would have one and the repair cost for cars being high has nothing at all to do with it, if cyclists did not smash into cars there would be no cost to pay and in many cases they are to blame but if I was to blame for the damage to their bike, you can bet your house that they would certainly be there waiting for me to pay for their bike and if I drove off, they would know how to find me because I have a registration plate on my car.
@@honestchris7472 "the accidents caused by untrained cyclists is far from being a tiny fraction" It is. Don't pretend it is otherwise. just look at the statistics. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. In fact, it's not even a molehill, it's even tinier than that. "When a cyclist crashes into your car causing hundreds of pounds of damage" To be honest, that has never happened to me. Neither did any cyclist crash into my car, nor did I crash into any car while being a cyclist. "and then just ride off into the night" Oh please. The same would happen if they had a licence plate. In fact, it does happen with motorists all the time as well. So I ask again: What is your point? "if cyclists did not smash into cars" Excuse me, but when was the last time you rode a bike? Oh, and the fact that bikes don't need licence plates? Well, there's a tiny difference between tractors, lorries, scooters and bikes. And I am sure you realise what that difference is, if you think about it long enough (hint: it has something to do with motors).
Can't agree with you on the clip starting 3:44, both are on the slip road to start with so lane 1 of the road isn't the cammer's lane, they're meant to follow it not join the road quickly and then try to overtake it. You're meant to use the whole length of the slip road to match speed with the traffic on the main road.
Doesn’t look like he goes for an overtake. That van straight up stops halfway between both lanes. Looks incredibly dodgy as an action take by the van driver. If he maintained speed and merged on then everything would have been fine. I’m not aware of any rule saying you can’t merge onto the road unless everybody in front has done so first. In this clip it was perfectly safe for the camper to merge on whereas the van was blocked by cars in lane 1. Also not aware of a rule saying use the entire slip road. As soon as the solid line ends you’re meant to be able to join the main road.
That one is the cammer's fault. If he wanted to merge 'early' then fair enough, but to then try and box the trucker in like that was just plain stupid behaviour for anybody entering a motorway or dual carriageway like that.
@@SomethingBluh you need to watch the clip again. The van driver had to stop. It's the cammer's responsibility to join the carriageway safely whilst maintaining a safe stopping distance.
It's not switching lanes at the end of a slip on, it's a give way not a right of way and if the lane is not clear for you to safely enter onto the carriageway then you must give way and if necessary stop until it is safe to enter. Its a give way like any other and is stated as such in the highway code.
7:18 I hate this particular part of the Princess Parkway. It goes from 70 to 50 where the M56 ends, but at this junction every lane ends up in a world of its own and you'll have people slowing to 30 well in advance of the slip on to the M60. You get scenes like this literally all day every single day.
this junction is the sole reason I get off the M56 further back and go M6 then use the M62 to get on the M60. Its a crap piece of road and most drivers make a crap job of getting in lane.
5:47 - I DON'T BELIEVE YOU. You're talking about UK police here - they wouldnt do ANYTHING with this footage, let alone tell you the specifics of what was 1000% not done. I doubt they even watched the video you submitted.
Also the Vauxhall brake checks the Volvo first, starting the aggression, and also tried to swerve to block the Volvo's overtake. Can't see how the Volvo would receive such a harsh punishment without the Vauxhall receiving similar
It's appropriate initially so that no one steps out of the vehicles involved into a live lane of traffic, especially with shock. Moving it shortly later granted would be a good plan
For some reason society has a thing about being wrong. They can't be wrong about anything. And in the states it's not only must get in front but add to it must get in the left lane at all costs. For you guys that'd be your right, the passing lane....
#15 That’s the Manchester end of the M56 as it becomes princess parkway, you have a junction just before this, then people joining to go into central Manchester alongside people wanting to leave and enter the M60 slip road. It can be carnage at busy times so many people leave it till the last minute to get to the M60 then cut across 2 lanes expecting to be let onto the slip road. Terrible road planning, too many junctions close together.
I've given up with people like number 5. a few years ago I parked on a street and a plumbers van had its headlights on dipped main beam. when I came out ten minutes later, they were still on. To save the guy running his battery down I called the number on the side. "Yeah?" "I just wanted to tell you, your lights are on." "What?" "You've left your lights on on your van." "F*** off." brrrrrr.
Where I live in Ireland you would not believe how many people turn into a road and cut right into the oncoming lane, especially when you are waiting to turn right, and they look at you as if you are wrong.. Its insane
5:20 I'm not sure as to why the Volvo driver got a bigger punishment than the vauxhall driver? It seems to me that the vauxhall's manouevre was more dangerous than what the Volvo driver did..
I agree. Vauxhall driver deliberately swerved into the Volvo while the latter was overtaking. If that isn't dangerous driving, then I don't know what is!
Let's start with the basics - it's a completely unnecessary overtake. With that said, if someone goes for a pointless or even dangerous overtake, speeding to dangerous extent in a built up area for example... You get out of the way - brake so that they're back on your side of the road and away from you asap, or just let off the accelerator - you DO NOT charge broadside at them and accelerate yourself. Volvo shouldn't be overtaking there, but Vauxhall turns an unnecessary overtake into an extremely dangerous one and aggravates a situation that doesn't need it. I too doubt that the stated punishments are accurate, but there are always extenuating circumstances - if the Volvo has previous and the Vx doesn't then perhaps that would explain it (if true) , we just don't know
@9:00 i watched it several times and there were no indications/arrows on the road/next to it, and the lights where all general direction (no arrows just round light), only hint where you need to go would have been that there was one lane going left, confusion after which its best to go straight and turn around after.
Clip 17. They could have indeed gone around again but that is also making the assumption that the truck is turning left. It didn't, it went straight on and the car was committed and had right of way. The beetle pulling out should've been looking straight ahead as well as that's the direction they are moving.
First clip, while clearly the wagon takes the blame, it's a good reminder of defensive driving position. If the lead car had been in the correct position for a right turn, the wagon would have no choice but to either let them out or take the bend wide. Take up your position on the road, dont half arse it so idiots will take chances like this
#17 the car was indicating to exit left yet the truck decided to go anyway. Truck drivers fault tbh, but also the point still stands. Car could have gone around and tried again.
first clip "his license should be revoked" right.... ruin someones career and life because he had an accident that everyone walked away from, and by the looks of it only minor damage.
It amazes me how many people get out of their cars and leave the door open. Don’t you know that your door is going to get ripped off by the oncoming cars, or people trying to get around you while you argue whose fault it is that caused the accident? Jesus! Think people! It’s not just about you.
Number 8 is even weirder if you know the road. It’s an extremely long on ramp up to only 50mph so I have no idea how he didn’t manage to get in and then had to push out the other side
0:18 There's a reason why there's people advocating for turn assistants. 1:30 Again: If lorry drivers keep turning and changing lanes without seeing where they are actually going, then there's something wrong with the lorry driver. It's quite refreshing to see a dashcam channel not repeating the same fairy tale about "blind spots". 3:11 A guy like that nearly ran me over once doing a U-turn out of nowhere. 3:57 Don't know if that's the rule in the UK as well, but usually the driver who rear ends another vehicle at least gets held responsible to some degree. There was enough time to stop the car. 8:24 There was quite a lot wrong in this clip, but for me the driver already on the roundabout is not to blame. Lorry driver failed to yield, so the driver had to hit the brakes, then the beetle driver also decides to drive when it's not safe and almost hits the other car because they don't pay attention to what's in the front. Then the audi driver does the most sensible thing: Indicating and checking if it's safe to get off the roundabout. 8:43 Lol, indicating when he's already halfway in the lane.
"It's quite refreshing to see a dashcam channel not repeating the same fairy tale about "blind spots" " I'm tempted to think you've never driven an HGV or a PCV. If you look carefully at the footage, rather than match the speed of the HGV and join the road behind it, or even accelerate and move up ahead of it, the car slots in alongside the HGV and then SITS IN the blind spot (which is very real despite your rather ignorant comment about Fairy Tales), neither dropping back, nor moving clear. The HGV driver now appears to be in the middle lane of a 3 lane carriageway and as such is obliged to move to the left lane when safe to do so, as per the highway code. If the driver checks his mirrors (at least three times is usual over the space of several seconds) and still doesn't see anything then what else can he reasonably be expected to do?. Yes, he should perhaps have noticed the car as it came down the slip road, but we don't all have eyes in back of heads and he, obviously, missed it. The HGV driver is "to blame" here, but the car driver was the author of his/her own misfortune. The moral of this story is, even if you "know" you're in the right, do not linger alongside HGVs/PCVs.
@@siras2 there’s enough mirrors on the left side of a hgv to have seen that car. You have a main and a wide angle, one above the passenger window pointing to the floor and another fixed over the windscreen that gives you a full view of the space in front. If he still somehow didn’t see that car it’s because he clearly didn’t check properly. And before you say, I’ve been driving hgvs for the past 6 years. I speak from experience.
I dunno, the red car brake checks him coming off a roundabout then swerves over and actively tries to force the Volvo off of the road because he didn't want to be overtaken. Trying to cause a crash twice because you don't like being overtaken? I dont think anyone with that mentality deserves to be driving either.
@@Gazmus he is being tailgated for no reason, if you dont like brakechecks, dont tailgate. the volvo started it then acted shocked when he ran into someone who wouldnt just roll over

People who take their eyes off the road for prolonged periods is not limited to people with illnesses as you indicate. People being on their phones, reading papers, on tablets, laptops. Why do you think there are so many accidents involved drivers who are not paying attention. Quite ironic how often it happens considering how long it has been illegal to do
#8 should have been fine, if the van had not decided to stop midway through merging. If they had kept going, the cammer would have been able to adjust their speead to correct the stopping distance
First clip .. aren't truck drivers suppos to be "advanced drivers"? First time I drove with a trailer, I didn't even have license for trailer and I did just fine, I was able to reverse with it and take tight corners just fine. It wasn't a truck tho, it was 8 meter trailer and a van, but it's all the same ... COMMON SENSE! When you make a turn, look in the frikkin mirror to see where the trailer is going ..duh!
In one clip a person explains about how big fine would be for an incident in front. A driver who filmed all this did at least couple of mistakes. One was when leaving roundabout. A dangerous driving that was. More than 90% British drivers have no idea what those doughnuts shape structure are for.
That clip with the LGV hitting the car does not need his licence taking away. We all make mistakes and suggesting such a punishment is over the top. As an lgv driver its frustrating to see but we have gone through large amounts of money to even get our licence in the 1st place. Accidents and mistakes happen!

This is a common occurrence with left hand drive HGVs from the continent. There's a very poor view to the right from the driver's seat, so something to be wary of. Blaming the driver of the car in this instance is clearly wrong as it signalled to leave the roundabout at just the right time.
@@TheEulerID if you look carefully the car is indicating to come off as it passes the cammer
@@davet2555 Exactly, the car is indicating to come off the roundabout way too early and the lorry thinks the car is exiting before it does. I see a lot of people do this, they either indicate way too early or not at all..........

The amount of men that get upset by someone overtaking them shows how fragile their masculinity is. Cammer handled it like a real man
the damage on that 17 year old Peugeot looks pretty bad
Never, ever, liger alongside a wagon, especially on the nearside. Foot down and get in front or hang back behind where you can be seen in his mirrors.
They probably meant that the lorry should've seen the Corsa approaching from the slip road in their mirror before they came up alongside them and thus should've been aware that the Corsa was somewhere near them.
4:47 Thought the mini was going to do one of those stunt driver parking manoeuvres for a second !
The aggressive driver with fog lights on his car is playing it 2 ways, either to hide his number plate in the glare for NPR cameras or " honest I was braking, you can see my brake lights" for speed cameras!
Do either of those work? Never heard of it and can't imagine it would
5:10 nice Agents of Shield reference. Random but I like it
Part of the tangential fun of these vids is the "ooh, yes, I know that roundabout/bit of road very well. Been round it, or along it many times.." etc:)
“You’ve got your fog lights on, my friend”.
I don’t think he’s your friend.
See so many self righteous like this even weeks after any fog. Totally unaware of their surroundings theres even a dash light, sure they do it on purpose.
Just shove your full beam on, no difference!
Clip 2: The flashes will indeed be red light cameras, designed to catch those who run the lights. (They may also function as a speed camera when the lights are green.)
With it being 2 flashes, defo speed camera too. Speed helps id whether it’s an actual red light incursion or a slow vehicle already through but towing or long and inadvertently caught out.
7:11 The short joining and leaving lane causes what some people call weaving. Lane 1 traffic want 2 and Lane 3 traffic want 1.
People have cameras because there's a lot of mad people on the road
@@noka79 yes many people, do have cams (as I do) because of stupid irresponsible drivers, however when you review their videos, many, not all put themselves into the position of having an accident just to get a video
@@shrory I agree with you on that, they often show themselves to be idiots while trying to shame others 😂
8:13 why are you blaming them??? The lorry was in the wrong, if the lorry hadn’t been a 🍆 there wouldn’t have been a problem
Pleasantly surprised by the 1 year ban for the tailgater around 5:29
Who invented this so called blind spot. Its should be called lazy arse syndrome , trying turning the head and using the eyes always helps.
I'm all for limiting the max speed to 30mph when the fog lights are on.
I hate the bright lights new vehicles have now, they should be illegal.
@@honestchris7472 "the accidents caused by untrained cyclists is far from being a tiny fraction"
It is. Don't pretend it is otherwise. just look at the statistics. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. In fact, it's not even a molehill, it's even tinier than that.
"When a cyclist crashes into your car causing hundreds of pounds of damage"
To be honest, that has never happened to me. Neither did any cyclist crash into my car, nor did I crash into any car while being a cyclist.
"and then just ride off into the night"
Oh please. The same would happen if they had a licence plate. In fact, it does happen with motorists all the time as well. So I ask again: What is your point?
"if cyclists did not smash into cars"
Excuse me, but when was the last time you rode a bike?
@@SomethingBluh There's a stopped vehicle in front of the van.
@@SomethingBluh you need to watch the clip again. The van driver had to stop. It's the cammer's responsibility to join the carriageway safely whilst maintaining a safe stopping distance.
@@SomethingBluh A car stopped in front of that van at the end of the slip road. You can see it accelerate away @3:55. That's why the van stopped.
My mirrors have little lights warning you of traffic in your blind spot 😁
@@minkster5054 That's a lot of effort to mitigate the risks, but understandable based on some of the experiences I've had there.
5:47 - I DON'T BELIEVE YOU. You're talking about UK police here - they wouldnt do ANYTHING with this footage, let alone tell you the specifics of what was 1000% not done. I doubt they even watched the video you submitted.
The cammer was also committing offences, and would also get done if they submitted the clip.
Also the Vauxhall brake checks the Volvo first, starting the aggression, and also tried to swerve to block the Volvo's overtake. Can't see how the Volvo would receive such a harsh punishment without the Vauxhall receiving similar
@@iwb316 Depending on their history the cammer probably would've just be warned about lane discipline rather than getting an actual charge.

1:30 well done to the pillock in the Fiesta who just blocks the entire road ffs 🤦🏼♂️ pull over in front of the accident!

#12 5:45 what a brilliant out come. Nice to see the police doing something about this kind of driving 👍🏻
Now all they have to do is fine the DC for their appalling lane discipline.
Cammer at the 3:50 mark had buckets of time to react to that. If that huge van could stop then so could the cammer

"Yeah?"
"I just wanted to tell you, your lights are on."
"What?"
"You've left your lights on on your van."

4:45 pro tip 3 - if you are from Sheffield then ANY brain damage can only improve you - so carry on :)
Where I live in Ireland you would not believe how many people turn into a road and cut right into the oncoming lane, especially when you are waiting to turn right, and they look at you as if you are wrong.. Its insane
I can imagine the cyclists confusion, "you mean other vehicles actually stop for pedestrians at crossings"? How weird" !😏
8:30 Maybe the cammer should do literally anything next time. So preventable
It’s appalling that so many drivers don’t look over their shoulders or in their mirrors before changing lanes !
3:05 I'm not sure the caption is correct.... an RX8 that still has engine oil left to burn ? Can't be !
5:20 I'm not sure as to why the Volvo driver got a bigger punishment than the vauxhall driver? It seems to me that the vauxhall's manouevre was more dangerous than what the Volvo driver did..
Possibly a good idea to get some substantiation before accepting this somewhat dubious claim as true?
I agree. Vauxhall driver deliberately swerved into the Volvo while the latter was overtaking. If that isn't dangerous driving, then I don't know what is!
It is not likely that the courts would give the details of convictions to a dashcamer, so I doubt the claims made for this one.
I too doubt that the stated punishments are accurate, but there are always extenuating circumstances - if the Volvo has previous and the Vx doesn't then perhaps that would explain it (if true) , we just don't know
2:40 It's a BMW, so the Lighting Regs don't apply to him.

3.50. Why the fuck would you come off a slip road and pull out from the vehicle in front of you to then close the gap on their emerge?
At 2-01, as the text says, that MIGHT be a medical event. If not, I'd wager half my life savings that a phone was involved.
#12 I was confused as to what the red vauxhall has done wrong until he swerved out while the volvo was trying to take them
@9:00 i watched it several times and there were no indications/arrows on the road/next to it, and the lights where all general direction (no arrows just round light), only hint where you need to go would have been that there was one lane going left, confusion after which its best to go straight and turn around after.
Slow reaction at No6, easily avoided.

They could have indeed gone around again but that is also making the assumption that the truck is turning left.
It didn't, it went straight on and the car was committed and had right of way.
The beetle pulling out should've been looking straight ahead as well as that's the direction they are moving.
1:47 Definitely a "medical event" as you called it, texting or otherwise distracted.
First clip, while clearly the wagon takes the blame, it's a good reminder of defensive driving position. If the lead car had been in the correct position for a right turn, the wagon would have no choice but to either let them out or take the bend wide. A HGV carves into your stationary car at a junction. Nonchalantly get out your car shrug, and put on your shades ;).
And before you say, I’ve been driving hgvs for the past 6 years. I speak from experience.
