Thank you for this Q and A. Your advice on limiting numbing cream is a good one. As a former nurse, we used to inject IV lidocaine for dangerous heart arrhythmias. I can see how one would want to limit the surface area of topical lidocaine because it is getting absorbed in the body and don’t want any arrhythimas 😯. Also, I was wondering why is it harder to find retinal (retinaldehyde) products compared to retinol? I see retinols all over the place, but not so much retinals. Hi Penn! You have such an amzing glow and the tightness of ur skin is honestly the best natural plumpness I have ever seen! Of course you are probly much younger than me but Please please tell me what the best treatment is for mid face and around the mouth skin looseness. I am only 41 and I am depressed so much of the time because I am spending to the max of what i have and am to the point where I believe a facelift is the only thing that will help me. I have had six vials of sculptra out in my face this year and use dysport or bototx regularly. But the sagginess on the sides of my mouth and wear my smile lines are makes me so insecure. I have basically what I call a skin flap on my driving side of my face where my smile line would be but it's there when I'm not smiling. Nothing is seeming to help. I have just done my first microneedling treatment and am following ur lip line treatment. And I have purchased my nuface and have a radio frequency pen as well I just was really hoping I could send u a pic and u could help me come up with a regular schedule with what I have that u think I'd have the best luck with. I use tretinoin but worry that it's making me too dry I don't know what I'm looking for or what's helping or how often to do these things for how long!! The Almight tret!! - but i think ive been doing it wrong all these years, booho. For the last 15-20 years i use a pea amount, 0.05% on perfectly dry skin in the evening. IAfter a couple of hours i'll apply a generous balm/sleeping mask to offset any dryness. But thats just it - i dont get ANY flaking or redness - should I have been leaving it without the emolient over the top??? (sobs int ridicoulously overprised silk pillow cases) Is the whole point to let it dry out to get the flake response??
Hi Penny, I've been diligently watching your videos, mostly about needling and pigmentation, and have a few questions: -How would you combine your recommended Fall skincare routine to reduce pigmentation with the products in the monthly needling protocol you recommend in your ‘needling serum’ video? -I use an at-home LED light already, red & green, and was wondering, since you’ve mentioned the collagen production cycle, if I need to be mindful of how I combine the LED light with medical needling (I currently use the light 2-3x/wk) or if it doesn’t really matter. -What’s the best way to combine all of these modalities (dermaplaning, needling [medical, cosmetic, and nano], and LED)? I think you mentioned in your nano needling video that you can dermaplane before nano needling (day before?), can you also do that before cosmetic needling? Would one be better than the other, since you should only do dermaplaning every 4 weeks? You mentioned making a calendar, which would be amazing. Thanks for sharing your expertise, I’m currently in grad school pursuing a second career, so I don’t have the income I used to, and your channel is such an amazing resource in lieu of professional treatments!

Sooooooo anyway I just got my X5 pen and am anxious to use ( if I don’t chicken out)!! What day and night regimen does your Mom use?? I have soooooo many lotions and potions it is ridiculous! I have Oridinary, mad hippie, some of your Korean hydration waters, cos do haha, etc. Have you ever tried Isomers ( from Canada), algenist, Eva, Josie Maran, perlier, and prai?? I think the hydration tips are ageless! I am 38 and dehydration is something I struggle with constantly. I often feel like my skin looks aged beyond its years because of the emphasized lines and crepiness that dehydration can cause. It can be so disheartening.. at any age.

I do actually. The cord is the A7’s downfall to me. It’s a great pen, but the versatility of cordless outweighs the pro’s of the A7 to me. Now just double check the cartridges etc bc right now it seems the X5 is harder to resupply than the A6. Beyond that it IS definitely the superior pen in my opinion :))
I buy the hmw hylauronic acid powder from Amazon and mix my own serum. Directions are on the container and it’s very simple. That way I know what’s going int it.

I got microneedling with PRP about 6 weeks ago and still have a flat red dot on cheek where needle was inserted for the plasma injection 😞 Dermatologist says Subaceous Hyperplasia but it doesn’t look like any pictures I’ve seen on internet. At this point I’m thinking it’s a broken capillary. My cheek was pretty cold from ice pack before injection. Do you have any treatments that can help reduce this redness? Hi Penny, my question is why is my face sticky all the time? I have dry skin, i use vit c, martyxl and co q 10 in the am followed by sun screen. I allow 30 minutes between each product. I start out sticky and stay sticky. I just pat my skincare on so not loading it. I cannot get foundation to glide on because i am so sticky. What the heck am i doing wrong? IAfter a couple of hours i'll apply a generous balm/sleeping mask to offset any dryness. But thats just it - i dont get ANY flaking or redness - should I have been leaving it without the emolient over the top??? (sobs int ridicoulously overprised silk pillow cases) Is the whole point to let it dry out to get the flake response??
Hi Penny, I've been diligently watching your videos, mostly about needling and pigmentation, and have a few questions:
-How would you combine your recommended Fall skincare routine to reduce pigmentation with the products in the monthly needling protocol you recommend in your ‘needling serum’ video?
-I use an at-home LED light already, red & green, and was wondering, since you’ve mentioned the collagen production cycle, if I need to be mindful of how I combine the LED light with medical needling (I currently use the light 2-3x/wk) or if it doesn’t really matter.
-What’s the best way to combine all of these modalities (dermaplaning, needling [medical, cosmetic, and nano], and LED)? I think you mentioned in your nano needling video that you can dermaplane before nano needling (day before?), can you also do that before cosmetic needling? Would one be better than the other, since you should only do dermaplaning every 4 weeks?

I think the hydration tips are ageless! I am 38 and dehydration is something I struggle with constantly. I often feel like my skin looks aged beyond its years because of the emphasized lines and crepiness that dehydration can cause. It can be so disheartening.. at any age.

I do actually. The cord is the A7’s downfall to me. It’s a great pen, but the versatility of cordless outweighs the pro’s of the A7 to me.
Now just double check the cartridges etc bc right now it seems the X5 is harder to resupply than the A6. Beyond that it IS definitely the superior pen in my opinion :))

Hello. I got microneedling with PRP about 6 weeks ago and still have a flat red dot on cheek where needle was inserted for the plasma injection 😞 Dermatologist says Subaceous Hyperplasia but it doesn’t look like any pictures I’ve seen on internet. At this point I’m thinking it’s a broken capillary. My cheek was pretty cold from ice pack before injection. Do you have any treatments that can help reduce this redness? Do you have a preference between physical and chemical sunscreens? One that I love is the Toleriane from La Roche Posay SPF 30 daily moisturizer. It’s SO great and it has niacinamide in it (bonus!) 💜😁

Hi Penny, my question is why is my face sticky all the time? I have dry skin, i use vit c, martyxl and co q 10 in the am followed by sun screen. I allow 30 minutes between each product. I start out sticky and stay sticky. I just pat my skincare on so not loading it. I cannot get foundation to glide on because i am so sticky. What the heck am i doing wrong? Yes!! Just watch for irritation. Nano is very superficial so no contraindication with adapalene 💜

You only need to use differin gel twice a week for reducing wrinkles. The only reason you'd use it daily is if you had acne.
