Wow! Such an incredibly free and wonderful improvisation!! No one comes close to him in this kind of original spontaneity. What a treat to hear the amazing flood of shimmering sounds that have flowed from his fingers through his long career. Thank you Keith!
Tomorrow ends 2023. I send to everybody my love. To everybody that will be in human form gifted with living in 2024 - beautiful year! In my country, Uruguay, we have beautiful music also. Very rythmic. We call Candombe to a very interesting style, which has plenty to do rythmically with Keith's rythmic intuition. Our national culture appreciates Candombe's syncope's richness. In the other side, Harmony is an aspect of music where even the signs adquire personification. Memories dwel also here. At a distance, we allow the musician to gift us with all this. Melodies.. In my opinion, the Koln Concert is his pinnacle. Melodies there blossom so much! HALLELUJAH!!
I had Solo Concerts on ECM records when I was 17..I listened to it alot...it wasn't Jazz It was just lovely..and beautiful..and black and gospel..Keith amazjng
Many times when I hear Keith play something completely new, something I've not heard before, it still has strikes a chord of familiarity with me. I don't know if it's his incredible lyricism or somehow he can combine the essence of so much music in his playing.
I can relate to that in the sense that over the years I've heard him play things that made me flash back on something I've lived, seen or otherwise experienced that sometimes had nothing to do with music. It's just this pleasantly strange sense of familiarity, as you put it -- almost like he's playing part of the soundtrack to my life. No other artist has affected me in the same way.
I very much enjoy the way you express and yes, I think it’s both : lyricism and the essences of a multitude of musical streams combined giving shape to an experience . Life’s magic ❤ shared. I‘m very grateful to this piano magician!
So many TH-cam "Keith Jarrett" posts, so few by Keith himself. Keith is always miles ahead of his imitators. I met Keith after a Miles Davis concert at Stanford University in 1969.
This concert is GRUESOME - in original sense of meaning: For the musician, aspiring or professional, a truly frightening musical prospect of the attainable; BUT, only really bestowed savants or prophets: Keith Jarrett
Thanks for sharing! NRK has apparently aired some incredible live footage of my most favourite musicians. So cool to see this concert in SUCH great quality. And hearing some of the themes from Bremen/Lausanne release.
I'm glad I was able to see him live at least once because it seems to be very compromised now unfortunately :( I hope more people share their bootleg but I don't think we will get any new material except if he accept to play only with one hand (I think he could still produce wonders even with one hand)
How did I find this? From visiting Norway several times, then delving deeply into Eyes Wide Shut (1999), loving Brad Mehldau's version of Blame it on my Youth in that, then reading that Mehldau mentions KJ as an influence. I bet some '80s songwriters got at least inspired by parts like around 14:00.
Deeply impressed by his play. It was more than 40 years ago that I first heard Koln Concert. I didn't know what real music is in my twenties then. After so much time passed, still I don't know what it is. But now I know that every artist repeats his deep impression on this world again and again with all body and soul. It never changes. No beginning, no end. That is this real world itself and it should be.
The 3 1/2 minute coda is the nearest thing to the very real sound and concept, 'The Music Of The Spheres', that ever has been channeled into terrestrial voice or instrumentation.
47:08 A very moving part for me is right here when he’s probably thinking, how am I gonna end this? The satisfying smile happens when he gets his answer from above…. Like this!
Tout passe somptueusement dans la moulinette Jarrett ; du ragtime, en passant par Bartok, Beethoven, la chansonnette, et surtout des nappes de notes qui finissent par te faire disparaitre à toi même...
from 31:00 to 34:36 it really looks to me as an anticipation of what would have been the slow part of the Koln Koncert part I (two years later...), 33:00 is almost identical... especially the left hand .
More than 38 000 people have heard and seen this free improvisation! But why is it only about 800 people of them who like this free improvisation? Lets give love and pray for this great pianist! But JESUS CHRIST is the greatest! Read the Bible! ❤️🙏
HOPES for a COMPLETE Recovery, Keith! - We need you more than Ever!
😘♥❤
Yeah, let's pray for this beautiful human being that is Keith Jarrett and for all he did for humanity as a musician !
100%

Thank God for giving us His saved spontaneous music for everyone to hear
I could watch this for the rest of my life. simply delightful, in every way.

Keith's brain was a like a radio antenna to the cosmic tone library.

Quality seeks out and often finds, quality. Nice to see someone called Yorkshire Pianist.

Tout simplement magnifique ! Des improvisations de toute beautés. Et un Swing extra. Merci keith. A écouter également. Thé koln. Concert.

FANTASTICO. HAI RACCOLTO INSIEME ANGELI E DIAVOLI . ...GRANDE MAGIA !

God bless you Keith, get well. We will pray for healing.
simply amazing
Just insanely good. Keith seems to have a direct line to a higher power at times. Maybe the most talented and inspired guy ever.
Lets agree to disagree
I would say one of the best performances live solo for Keith
Extraordinaria interpretación de un!!! Super Máster Keith Jarrett. Fabuloso!!!

40:00 to 42:30 is so touching. You can hear his soul! Beautiful
Saludos del Pianista Javier Donado desde Barranquilla , Colombia
thanks for uploading this wonderful concert
This is a gem!!!! thanks so much for posting.
Sublime, me encanta descubrir algo de uno de mis ídolos musicales desde la adolescencia.
Powerful ❤thanks for sharing ❤
29:00 to 30:00 wonderful passage, the Vermont solo is incredibly beautiful too. Keith is the master.
Powerful Keith Jarrett
I'm so impressed about the video quality despite it was recorded on 1973
Alberto Pagnin and the audio quality.
Also the only thing to be impressed about if you ask me
Completely beautiful!
Deeply impressed by his play. It was more than 40 years ago that I first heard Koln Concert.

Very nice gospel-inspired passage beginning at 34:30. Thanks for sharing this great video.
He always wears the coolest shirts.
The movie Koln 75 is in the works, fyi.
Thanks a lot.
Master Pianist ❤
Best musician ever
No conocía este directo, muchísimas gracias...
Freshly free from the years with (electric) Miles…
no words.... ❤️KJ
The 3 1/2 minute coda is the nearest thing to the very real sound and concept, 'The Music Of The Spheres', that ever has been channeled into terrestrial voice or instrumentation.
This is not human. This is much more than a pianist.
thanks a lot for uploading 🍀
40:35 - just magical
47:08 A very moving part for me is right here when he’s probably thinking, how am I gonna end this? The satisfying smile happens when he gets his answer from above…. Like this!
He’s a Genius 🕊️
it's 73 alright; sounds so similar to the Bremen concert: a big Indian raga, as if he were playing a tabla - or even a flute!
Rick Beato brought me here…. Wow!! Just WOW!!
Great zoom by the camera person at the very end.
Tout passe somptueusement dans la moulinette Jarrett ; du ragtime, en passant par Bartok, Beethoven, la chansonnette, et surtout des nappes de notes qui finissent par te faire disparaitre à toi même...
Great pop jazz❤
Tormented soul at 6m 30sec!!
13:33 - even the camera starts vibrating and dancing
Thanks for posting this video.👍
Now I understand why Jarrett has such developed hand muscles😂.
How many tendinitis with those Ostinato times???😅😅😅
❤
Bomba !!!

Yes, there is a very strong similarity
Wow nice thanks!
Where did you even find this? did you have the vhs laying around for all this time? hahaha
Actually, I found this in Russian video share site.
@@おむど-p4p this is amazing!! Do you have more?

Thank you for watching !!
This is full version of the concert .
Wow! This is gold-dust to a solo Jarrett fan. Thank you so much.
It's all available in the NRK archives!
Hey, KJ San !! What you doing here ? ;0

16:47
Someone needs to Remaster this and take out that awful hiss, so we can hear more the Maestro himself
Does anyone know if there is a CD or LP of this recording?
EL CAPO TE ATRAPO CO !!!!
It's not so much Keith plays the piano as Keith is the piano
Not bad at all!! 😂
34:30 ss !
Buzz is annoying ❤ like my mother in-law
Keith on a Shimmel 🤣
J'aime beaucoup K.J. Mais cette musique est aujourd'hui tellement démodée qu'on s'ennuie bien vite.
He was great before but this was the start of something really special.
